This looks like very very angry heat rash.

The weather is very hot. Pls dress baby accordingly. No long sleeve, or thick clothing. Singlet and socks is ok for afternoon weather with diaper or nappy on the bum. Only cover him up if Ac is on OR fan at night(still with maybe light overall).

For now, let the back breathe. Only light singlet that’s free and allow air touch his body. Do not scrub his body hard so u don’t open up the rash, just wash him/her mildly with warm/cool water. This way, it can heal without u reopening them in the name of bathing. Because of heat, apply only thin layer of baby tribotan, wait a bit then apply Agnesia or prickly heat powder to help soothe him.

Also visit the hospital to hear the doctor’s say cos it looks angry. All the best momma. Take solace in the fact that this too shall pass and baby will be okay...........eventually.

Sabi Mamas in the house, una well done o!!
Trust we and our Lo’s are doing great?

Please Mamas I want to ask, is it normal for babies eyes to lookin different directions sometimes? I notice my DD eyes some times does that. I read online that it’s normal, but I’ll appreciate feedbacks from experienced mothers.
She’s 2 months old by the way. Or could it be that she’s exposed to light too early? I’m just confused. Our next appointment is next week
Avoid laying baby down directly under bright lights. Let baby not look directly at any bright light for now.

Pls mamas, I'm new here

My baby is just 3wks and whenever he wants to poo, he cries like the poop is hard. It is exclusive breastfeeding that we are doing o.

Pls any advice that will help me ease this pain for him, thank you
Whenever I notice that with my baby, I usually put oil on my palm then use it to massage his tummy. You can also check youtube for videos on how to help baby poop.

Dunno of anything u can use apart from the doctor’s prescribed antibiotics and cough syrup. In my experience, I think their cold takes a while to clear. Catarrh and running nose can also take what seems like forever to clear once it’s starts.

Follow the prescription and keep an eye on it. So ur certain it’s not getting worse. It’s supposed to gradually get better, from the chesty cough, to normal surface cough, to sneeze, to goodbye cough.

Dear Mums,
Is it normal for a 2 year , 3 month child to always run on sighting the person looking after him. If I am moving with him and he sights the girl, he will be hiding in my body till we are passed where she is.
Anytime she is passing, he will take off and run to me even if she doesn't plan to come and carry him. I haven't encountered this with my other house girls, but don't know if as a child grows, he starts this kind of behavior or if there is a kind of abuse going on.

He hasn't started school yet due to covid but will start on Monday as school reopens.

Naturally it's not normal...children fear who seems to be doing them things they don't like...I sugest you ask your son to open up and talk to you..or you ask the lady...something is wrong

That is a red flag in my opinion especially if its peculiar to just this one person.

My DD of 2 months always keeps her hand in a fist. She rarely opens it wide and let it be open. Our neighbour is suggesting that my DD has might have 'nta' (in igbo). She said that 'nta' will not allow my DD to put on adequate weight. I kinda agree with the weight issue cos her birth weight was 4.3kg and her weight at 6 weeks was 5.3kg. Aside the weight issue + groaning when pooping or farting, my DD does not have any other significant issue I know.
Please sabi mamas, is there such a thing? If there is, what is the remedy? Please help me.

Pls avoid listening to neighbours when it comes to health issues especially that of a baby.
Probably when going for her next immunization, ask the nurses or a doc.
For me, I see nothing to be concerned about here. You could try feeding baby more often and see if the weight improves.

Say what now? Pls let her grow in peace biko. She’s very okay. They keep their hands fisted for a while that’s the default position from womb. She’ll learn to open up as grows. It definitely won’t be fisted from about 5months old.

Groaning when pooping is also normal, she’s just figuring out which muscle to contract to make the poop come out. As long as your feeding her right, the groaning will stop too before 6months old. Infact, since she’s a girl child, pour water from a distance directly on her clit when bathing her, she’ll instinctively begin to pee and poop. Don’t stop till she’s done. This trick should work for her now she’s little.

Kindly learn and study your baby, as long as a baby is born healthy without any medical complications, that baby is bound to grow normally. There’s a wide range of NORMAL that every child follows, study your baby and find your baby’s unique NORMAL.
