While browsing through my late father's documents in search of my younger sisters junior secondary school certificate that he kept, I found a number of precolonial naira notes among his documents.

The bunch of precolonial naira notes include:

Three one pound notes

Four ten shillings notes

Two earlier one naira notes

One later one naira note

Pound sterling.
Change the money asap grin grin grin

On a more serious note,it would be difficult to make the counterfeit because the notes have a great face value unlike our present naira notes.

Islamisation crew should see that theres nothing called Islamisation by just writing a note in arabic, Roman numerals in Naira can also be termed christinisation agenda. We should learn to tolerate each other

The groundnut pyramid photo on the ten shillings note was reused on the one naira note when it was introduced after independence.

Nigeria at that time seems to be very proud of their groundnut pyramid, something that the Arewa youth of today have abandoned because of the free oil money that's coming to them.

Keep it, it might sell for more in future.

If onions can make it, I doubt if anything won't.

Nice. This was the good old days when Nigeria money had value and international respect. There were many sources of income (groundnut, cocoa, etc), mostly private sector driven. Unfortunately successive regimes left the economy and the currency worse than they met it partly due to overdependence on oil.
Do you know that you're the government and finance minister of your life and family? How do you treat your personal/family income?

You can earn a fortune if you auction them off. Just keep them safe.

BTW,

Can the bigots see those Arabic letters? It seems like even the British wanted to Islamize you. Jokers. You don't even realize that those words are even Hausa words

Those days when our parents without higher degrees keep documents neatly, keep archives and were very well composed.

Very few of us are well disciplined to even write a diary.

This is not about technological advancement but discipline!

We have lost it!
