Vice-President professor Yemi Osinbajo, has said Nigeria suffered a major tragedy when Boko Haram terrorist attacked farmers killing over 43 of them in a rice plantation in Kwashabe village, about 20 kilometres north Mauidugur, Insidenaija reports.

The vice president made this know while addressing newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, December 3, 2020.

Proffessor Osinbajo said, as a brother, father and Nigerian, he was incredibly devastated by these acts of violence.

According to the Vice-president, Mr. President and himself, acknowledged that they must continually review the conventional means of dealing with some of these security challenges, especially the randomness.

He said, he had spoken to Governor Babagana Zulum and former Governor Kashim Shettima on how, a lot more focus will be placed on local intelligence and community policing to ensure intelligence information are received quickly and react faster.

Osinbajo said, their(the present and himself) hearts are with the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attack on the farming community in Borno State, adding that, they would ensure justice is served.

I believe community policing like the VP suggested is the way forward. The acquisition of armored vehicles, tucano jets and ammunitions will be effective only if there're precise information.
