2021 Recruitment at Oyo State Civil Service Commission

Applications are invited from interested and qualified candidates to apply for Recruitment at Oyo State Civil Service Commission

This is to notify the general public that the year 2021 edition of the competition for entry into the Administrative Cadres in the Oyo State Service will commence in January, 2021.

The competition will consist of: A qualifying written examination to be conducted by the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) Topo, Badagry;

Qualifications and Requirements:
To be eligible for the competition, a candidate must hold bachelor’s degree in any of the disciplines of the Social Sciences, humanities, Law, Agricultural Science, Accountancy and other related fields.
Candidates who are sitting for the examination leading to any of the aforementioned qualifications in 2021 should have the understanding that if they fail to secure the appropriate qualifications, they will automatically drop out of the competition.
Subjects for the Examination:

The examination will consist of five(5) papers namely.

English Language (Easy/Comprehension)
Logical Thinking
Basic Statistics; and
General Knowledge Papers I & II (Essay Objective)
Examination Day:

Thursday, 28th – Friday, 29th January, 2021 at Government College, Apata, Ibadan.

Method of Application
All completed application forms must be submitted at the Civil Service Commission Secretariat, Ibadan.

Note:

A non-refundable examination fee of N7,500(Seven Thousand Five Hundred Naira) is to paid into Account No. 0120426092 Wema Bank Plc mokola, Ibadan, for the collection application form in Room 09 of the commission from Tuesday 17th November to Thursday 10th December, 2020.

I can't believe Oyo state government will direct poor and jobless graduates to pay #7500 to apply for a vacant position. If this happens in the Northern states such as Kaduna, Kano, Katsina etc I assure you no one will apply. In Kaduna state, we don't pay for application form whether for job or school under state government.

No harm in trying, but if you reside in Ibadan or Oyo State, you can visit State Civil Service Commission office to ask them, because 7500 is a lot of money to pay and discover you are not qualified.

Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) is the body saddled with ensuring competent and professionals in administration are employed into state civil service administrations in Nigeria.

Just like TRCN for Teachers....

So ASCON Conducts exams on behalf of states civil service commissions across the federation, hence the payment for conduct of the professional entrance exam for *Administrate Officer* position.

There is always a certificate issued which goes a long way when eventually employed.

It's one of the best way to enter into civil service and grow rapidly amongst the rank.

Irrespective of your explanation I see no justification for the payment. Other states conduct CBT exams and best the cost. This is a job vacancy not certification. The state should bear the cost of recruiting.

This is the most useless explanation on the surface of the planet. I'm so disappointed. This would be the first time I'm seeing the government request money from people whose majority will probably not get any offer.
