Hello guys i have been hearing no proxy in getting NIN but i opened my online banking site (GTBank) and noticed the NIN space with digits.
Please how can that be? I never applied for it anywhere.

I have the proof here. Please is that the genuine one?

That is your NIN number. It was generated for you when your data was captured for BVN. I did my BVN registration with GTBANK and I was given NIN despite not registering at any NIMC center.

My bank also used my BVN capture to generate NIN for me. I dialled the *346#, and an eleven digit number popped up stating 'NIN'.

Me that has never ever gone to register for it before... just checked my gtworld app and found it there... haha

It seems early registration for BVN(between 2014 and 2015) serves as the criteria for automatic BVN-to-NIN link.



That may explain why some with BVN have NIN without prior data capture at NIMC, and some don't.

I dont really get you but i ve had my BVN for a long time now but noticed that the column for NIN was filled up with 11 digits.

I chatted with GTBANK whatsapp platform and the lady/man knows nothing.

I did BVN around that time but didn't get NIN from GTB. Maybe cos I did my BVN at another bank Sha..
