I woke up this morning to see that a large sum of amount has been debit from my GTB account to an account in ECO. I have however blocked the account to prevent further activities on my account and I have also raised a case file with police report to ensure the fraudster account is frozen(if the money has not been withrawn).

The bank official ask me to get a court order to get the fraudster arrested when found. I then called the IPO in charge of the case for this update. She said the court order can only be done in Ibadan, Oyo state and said it will cost me real money. I contacted a police friend who said I should go to state CID Panti to lay complain.


If anyone has experienced this before or has an idea should kindly advice me on what to do next. Help a brother pls.

Another officer I met outside said same thing before the admin referred me to this IPO. The officer outside even showed me the one he's currently handling. The two officer didn't meet to discuss the issue

You can approach the State CID, or FCID Alagbon or the SFU(depending on the sum involved) but they'll all head to Oyo state to get the freezing order. That's almost certain. The cost depends on the IPO and police Counsel who'll undertake the assignment for you.

Just curious at the mode of transfer it means this fellow have access to your phone logs and know when you went to bed. Hope you didn't download anything online or join all this whatsapp group that promise to train you on something but end up teaching you nothing but encourage you to download something.

I'm very carefully when dealing with them. I hardly use this account for any online transaction except it's a trusted platform. I'm confuse here as It seems the transaction was done with my phone.

I have looked at all the scenarios even if your SIM is cloned which I doubt there is no way the would know your password except some app is sending key logs from your phone to a third party.

You are correct, I doubt if my phone is cloned, i use token as my password which is difficult to clone.

I honestly need a legal advice on how to handle this case.

What I don't understand is if it's possible for USSD to tranfer 200k at a go and how much the limit is per day.

I don't know about legal advice but I think there is a way to freeze the recipient account via post no
debit like they did for the #endsars people unfortunately the wheel of justice grind slowly and the crooks knows,by the time you get to eco bank they might tell you the account has no BVN.

I have done the PND order. I will be commencing the legal process soon. I'm gathering all the info i can get both online and offline.

I know fully well no account without BVN, if the ECO Banks says so, we will have a full time battle.

I am not in Nigeria but I fought hard for it and threatened the bank that I will send alot of their staffs to jail. I involved CBN and EFCC. I got back my full money with transfer charges after 20 days.
Dont take it lightly with them, involve CBN and write a petition to EFCC. They will be the one to do everything for you and follow the person that transfered your funds.

I have friends in EFCC, they wrote a petition for me and I threatened the bank as well to jail their staffs. UBA were calling me day and night. Banks don't want someone to be gentle with them regarding fraud. You need to take it with iron hand.
