Before u take it to a repairer, open with a screw driver and see of it has a fuse and if the fuse or a transistor or capacitor is damaged

Unstable voltage from PHCN can damage these chargers quickly.

My friend's charger spoilt within a week of use while I have been using the same charger for more than 18 months now. I found out his home voltage is unstable.

even my UPS, the electrician used a 220VAC 0.15A cooling fan inside the UPS. When I calculated the wattage, 220 x 0.15 = 33Watts. Imagine a common UPS fan consuming 33 Watts when my standing fan is just 54 Watts. I insisted that he used a VDC fan (which would do the same job at 3-5 Watts) but the e-doit didn't listen.

So, I would be happy if you can fix the battery charger for me oo... Where do you stay?

It is 12v x 0.15 = 1.8w
It is a 12v dc fan

The fan is not VDC, it is rated AC 220 Volts, and connected to the AC Outlet part of the UPS.
Also, I use a 24v Bluegate 1200VA UPS, not 12v.

I have fixed the Charger now, the electrician said it's power IC and replaced it right in front of me.

I am now back home now, enjoying it.

This does not regulate your voltage but protects your appliances from overvoltage, undervoltage and power surge(if supported). Get a stabilizer to regulate your voltage.

It no longer charges, and only switches on (no load or battery full mode) when connected to the battery.

I experienced it as well, and these were what i did:

I discharged my battery bank a little, then connected the charger back and it continued charging. Or, i left it for sometime, and when power returned, it continued charging. I think it needed to cool or something like that
