Lost Your Sim Card And Unable To Retrieve Your Line by Monday60655(m): 9:58am On Jan 11, 2021
This issue has been given me great concern and uneasy ever since federal government through National Communication Commission (NCC) directed all network providers to block/deactivate all sim card not link to respective National Identity Number (NIN) after 9th January, 2021.
My question is this, what will happen to those individuals who lost their line and are unable to retrieve/ welcome back such sim card since federal government through NCC has instructed all network providers to suspend sim card retrieval/welcome back and also stop issuing/registering new sim card.
For example, I lost my phone on 19th December, 2020 with my two sim card in it. Now I am unable to retrieve back my line due to the instruction given to all network providers by FG. If my sim card now blocked or deactivated, what will be my fate and fate of many Nigerians who also have the same issue.
I wish this notice get to the notice of NCC boss and NIMC boss as well.

The attention of federal government, NCC boss, NIMC boss and who ever involved in issuing instruction to suspend sim card retrieval without clear consideration for those who might lost my their line are highly needed ASAP.

Really, please when did they started that one, because I was at MTN office here in Maitama, Abuja last week and I was told that the suspension on sim card retrieval has not been lifted.

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate, because your information worked. I just contacted MTN customer care now, and they told me that I can come for my sim card retrieval with NIN, sim pack or court affidavit.
Thanks once more.

Yes it cost money. Though it depends on the court you go to. The price is not uniform, it varies. Like the day I obtained my at Federal high court headquarter in Maitama, Abuja last two week, it cost me #1300. But is lesser in some other places.
If you are going, ensure you go with two pass port to avoid extra charge at the hands of wait and take photographers there.
