So the Cavs just messed around and got Jarrett Allen grin

I still think Brooklyn won this trade sha. Being able to hold on to Kyrie and Dinwiddie and they still have small cap space to get one or two more bodies. They didn't lose nearly as much as I thought they would have

Indy are also looking good potentially

They lost Jarrett Allen.

You don’t think that’s huge?

Im not sure if DeAndre can protect the rim like Jarrett.

So it's gone from KD-Steph-Klay to KD-Harden-Kyrie in a blink of an eye grin
But make I no talk before them crucify me for here.

Bro,

This is championship or bust. No ifs or buts.

One thing we know is KD and Harden will show up.

Same can’t be said about kyrie.

Make dem no sha give us any excuses if it doesn’t go according to plan with all that firepower.

They have cap room to get a serviceable big. As much as I'm not much of a fan of Harden or his game, you don't have the opportunity to get him and balk at that because of Jarrett Allen.

I agree with this.

Just saying, that will be a significant loss to them.

If Kyrie plays then he'll show up no doubt, but I'm still trying to crack my head as to how this works. It worked for KD in GS because neither Steph nor Klay actually needed the ball; they were more deadly with their movements. And KD as well doesn't need the ball that much. But here we have Kyrie and Harden who are both ball hogs, with KD. One of them would have to turn to a spot-up shooter o cheesy, e no get how

They do have an entire season to figure out how to play together, and at least 2 of their superstars are not load managers a la Kawhi. So they will build up chemistry.

Main concern should be defense and the ball distribution and even coaching. I am no sure Nadh can handle that , but these are lesser problems.

KD and super teams though

My brother! They basically gave up their entire bench for this trade. The fact that they still have about 12m in cap after that trade tells you how sh*t that team currently is.

I'm thinking that if Kyrie's head was right they wouldn't have done this trade. My gut feeling is that they'll trade Kyrie at some point this season. And they should pray he doesn't continue like this, if not they'll have to lose him for peanuts, maybe a fringe All star and a few picks, because not many teams would be willing to part with much for a problem like Kyrie.

I agree with this take.

I think harden will be willing to compromise seeing that the chip is what he doesn’t have and want.

Kyrie matter hen, the thing tire me lol

In today's league who is not assembling a super team or trying to do so.

Allen is a role player at best. A guy like him can never be the difference between winning and losing a title. Holding on to Harris and Dinwiddie was more important IMO

They can get veteran glue guys like Ariza or any other defensive wingman that can shoot

I’m Not saying he’s Olajuwon but I think he’s underrated IMO

Make we leave matter for Matthias, this is a slam dunk win for the Brooklyn Nets.
There is a level of talent that makes chemistry issues less relevant grin

Bruh! Imagine not been able to double team KD or Harden shocked wahala dy oh.

Harden and Cp3 took the warriors to 7 games, imagine what he would do with KD. Chai,
They definitely need to learn to play with each other and also get a serviceable wing + Center but the east is definitely in trouble.

I am kind of happy for the Nets sha, from been the laughingstock of the NBA without draft picks for many seasons to a Juggernaut within 7 years..

Throwing this to the house

What do you guys think of the Lakers Chances of repeating now that the Nets have loaded up ?

Unbiased views would be appreciated wink

No doubt the Nets have the best trio in the league, but the Lakers have the best duo and the best team. Plus they're miles ahead defensively. Honestly speaking I think they should worry about getting out of the East more than anything, because the East is loaded at the top. The Bucks would love to make thongs right; the Sixer's actually got better this off season and they look scary; then there's the unknown quantity in the Celtics when they're healthy. Brown is not joking this year.

But by and large, if the Nets make it out it should be an interesting finale. I just think the Lakers would be able to dominate the Nets defensively. Plus the match ups don't favour the Nets. Who guards AD when Gasol is on the floor? KD? Then who guards Bron? Harden? We saw how that worked out last year. But on the other hand AD can take on KD seamlessly. Bron can guard Harden. When it's AD and Trez on the floor we can easily throw Trez on Harden and let Bron guard KD, while AD protects the rim. Schroder or Caruso can do a decent job on Kyrie. Then there's KCP and Mathews to handle Joe.

The key thing here is that the Lakers best offensive players are also their best defensive players, which means we don't have to sacrifice one for the other just because of matchups. But it's not so for the Nets. Green right now is their best defender, but he doesn't offer much offensively so you can't play him big minutes. Same with Jordan.

I'd love to see the finals happen though. Should be mouthwatering.

I am with you in this one. I think Allen is a big loss defensively. DJ is not as swift moving his feet or his elevation under the rim as a rim protector.

I notice how Max Kellerman and all these analysts are giving these superstars a pass. They say Kawhi is expected to make the conference finals at least. They say KD is expected to make the finals at least even though he has two other superstars on his team. But poor old LeBron, they expect him to win it all or else it's a failure. There's levels to this thing abeg cheesy

Max players are obligated and committed to their money, not necessarily the team. We have seen this over and over again.
Just because he signed a supermax does not mean he can’t force a move if the Bucks don’t win. If after 2-3 years the Bucks have not won then expect Gianis or his camp to start talking about a move elsewhere.
It’s the sad reality for owners.. and I hate it!

It was Harden's decision to come join Him not the other way around and tbh I can't say I blame Him. No superstar in His mind will reject the prospect of teaming up with Harden. Heck even Giannis with the supposed beef He had with Harden will welcome Him with open arms. As long as Show me your rings continues to be the order of the day, we will continue to see these superstars band together to create super teams.

It's unfortunate that he found himself in that situation again. I'm quite sure he okayed the move.
