Good people of nairaland,
Everything you are about to read is not fiction but certain reality.

At the heat of this DNA wahala, a married Ex called me on 6th of Jan to notify me that her son is mine and not her husbands. I remember vividly a certain Saturday in 2015, when we argued intensely over the paternity of the child during her pregnancy. She insisted it was her boyfriends, make una fear women. She swore she was single. Our calculations showed she was ovulating while we had some encounters. She proceeded to block me on all social media platforms and 2 months later, her friend informed me of her wedding.

The issue here is that I am married with two kids and expecting another, she told me her husband lost his job early 2018 and it has been a very rough patch for her family. she says she wants a divorce.

I asked for the boys pictures and it put instant tears to my eyes. Showed a few friends and the resemblance is striking so they said. The most painful of all, he looks not properly looked after.

I am doing fairly OK now, I wouldn't wanna to see my blood suffer, if you were in my shoes how would you handle this. My wife would not want to hear of another child...

Mature advise please...

Forget that boy, he is not your child.

Fear women, they only want what favours them. Am telling you this... If you where not doing well, this your ex will never remember you or come back to u.

Don't pity her or whatsoever, cut her off your life like she did when she left you for her husband.

Forget everything about her and child.
Move on with your wife and your 3 children.
And pls always treat your wife and your children right.

God bless you.

After losing your job, your wife tells you that probably your only child is not yours, that will be a terrible one ohhhh.
I don't have advice for this but consider the guy that lost his job, also both of u cannot hide it for too long. Uhh
I hope he won't commit suicide. Fear fair weather wives.

bros how do you explain to a man
a: he lost his job
b:his wife now is planning divorce because of no money

for the past 5 years his only child of the marriage is not his it belongs to his wife's ex and they have been in contact

That was why I said emotions will run high rather than reality. That's why the man's relations will eventually need to help him face reality by cutting his losses and moving on he is in really starting all over again.

It's not the biological father's fault and this has to be drummed into his head. They are both victims of the machinations of an evil woman.

It's obvious d lady lied and rushed to marry a simp that first proposed to her. She's a very stupid being but the kid shouldn't suffer.

Send your ex monthly stipends to take care of your boy, let her stay with her husband, or better still establish your ex for the sake of your son, when your son becomes an adult, you can both seat and talk things out

I don't support that saying that the child is innocent so he should be taking care of...

Leave the mother to surfer her decision, and don't border yourself about what happens to the child.

Let the woman be the one to expose herself to her husband and let this guy not border himself until she bring the child to him.

If she don't, let it be like that... The child will look for his real father.

For the now, the poster should not border himself, whatsoever about the child or what happens to him now or in the future.

If the child is for him... He will come looking for him... Not the other way round.

I was about to ask what you've decided to do before I saw this. Let us reason this matter together;

1. Ex wants to divorce hubby and you want to take the child. Either of these two things absolves her of any responsibility, she won't be taking responsibility for her marriage or child - why should she have such a free pass in life?

2. Kindly think of your wife for more than a few minutes, will you take this from her? Do unto others what you want done to you is still a very great principle to live by. Pls don't bring that child into your home while his mother is still alive.

3. You want to saddle your mum or sister with another woman's responsibility, when that woman is not sick or dead, there's nothing wrong with her and nothing stopping her from working to provide for her child.

4. Your mother is too old to be cleaning up other people's mess, please leave her out of it and let her rest in her old age.

5. Your sister has a life of her own to build and live as well, please do not impose on her such a huge task.

6. Let the woman who gave birth to this child take care of him. She is not an invalid.

7. Why on earth do you even want to get involved after such deceit? Are your 3 kids with wifey not enough for you?

8. If this was a female child will you be vibrating about taking the child the way you are doing now?

You spoke well
But how come the husband of the ex is not considered here,

He has been a father to this child

Yeah... so who's child is it? Aren't we encouraging men to do DNA tests on their kids to make sure they aren't taking care of another man's children? So if you also ask the biological father to forget his kid, then what becomes the fate of the child and the mother? Isn't it sad that we encourage men who have children with other women asides their wives to just forget the kid and then we turn around to shame the women for not opening up to their husband about the child? This our desire to free men of any blame in paternity issues shouldn't also make us encourage them to be heartless. Law or no law, only a wicked man would watch his child suffer.

Don't disturb yourself, we must not copy American in everything. Traditionally the child belong to the husband who father the child because he paid his wife brides price and see her through pregnancy and took care of the child. Op is just a sperm Donor, if the woman didn't open up will he know? The husband has every right to claim the child if the DNA turn otherwise but if he decided to give the child to OP that means OP will have to refund all expenses made on that child from birth till date. Let be wise when coping Americans their tradition is different from ours as well as our laws.

What you said is what many have have done but the neglected child suffers greatly.

The Davinone family in Delta has the most chartered accountants in the world-all 5 kids chartered accountants. Fantastic laurel!

It does have a dark secret. The father of the family had a first child with a white woman which he completely neglected. She grew up in poverty in England. Till now, the lady being over 50 now, is only grudgingly accepted.

Most importantly, once the child's needs are well taken care of by the adoptive parent, the biological father can step back. The interest of the child is the key here. Anyway, paternity fraud complicates the whole thing.

You can’t just come and take a mans son away because you slept with his wife before they were married. Fatherhood is beyond sperm and egg.
Who will compensate the man for the years he raised that boy? So because he lost his job he shouldn’t have a son? Mr Nairaland is not the father of the boy, he’s only the biological father.
According to the law, a man assumes fatherhood of a child born outside wedlock if married to the mother.

i feel sorry for you. Imagine sharing a child with that heartless witch. got pregnant for you then used it to trap another cos he was financially better off. Nw table ve turned, she wants out, using the child to instigate you to help break her marriage. Question is if u were worst off would she ve told you? No. Her husband and you would ve died not knowing. To think all the sleepless nights, stress, pain the poor man went through to provide for that child SMH. Mark my word Ur ex'll be the end of you, either her husband kills you or she does. My advice? Make sure every interaction with her is documented, tell her u were never a dead beat, u'll take responsibility but only if a DNA test confirms the child is yours. if it is, then tell your wife. explaining everything. but mark my word if u let that woman get you in her bed, thats the end of ur life.

Paternity fraud is where you have been deceived to accepting a child that isn't yours.

Were you married or engaged to your wife as at the time of your affair with this lady? If the answer is no, you have no skeleton in your cupboard and thus, you should be free to discuss it with your wife.

If the answer is yes or no, then in the name of the fear of God, honesty and integrity, pray to God to take control of everything, next, sit your wife down and tell her the whole truth and nothing but the truth...God will answer your prayers by giving her the ability to understand that this isn't your fault and both of you will agree on what to do next.

Note that if your wife is opposed to bringing the child to your home, you must honour her desires..she is the legal wife and the other lady and her child is just an impostor.

Seek God's direction, He will help you. Tread carefully! The sanctity of your home is more important than anything else!

To all my fellow men who think they are having a swell time jumping from the bed of one lady to the other in the name of pre-marital and extra-marital sex, Charles009's case is a stark reminder that karma is real, what goes around comes around and God our creator is not foolish when He said in His word (the Bible) that we should flee fornication 1Corinthians 6:15-20.
God through His word helps us avoid these life complications when we simply obey Him. You should not be climbing a woman when you have not legally married her.

By the grace of God, not by my power whatsoever, my wife of 10 years marriage is the first and only woman I have gone to bed with; thus no daughter of Eve can ever call me one day claiming her child is mine.
Long and short, there are tons of wisdom in obeying God's word and doing His will!

A word is enough for the wise!

She agreed. Will be checking up a few hospitals in Lagos and pricing too.

Can I custody the child and atleast my wife wouldn't know, maybe give him to my mum or sister?

As per the bolded, don't try it. You will destroy your home. You must let your wife know about everything.. that's the only ticket to keeping your home.
