State police is not practical in today Nigeria.. without restructuring..
Nigeria Governors already have enough constitutional powers.. adding state police will perpetuate them in power and make them lords and demigod .. like asiwaju in Lagos

Reason why I said travel ...
The north is changing.. and will continue..

Development is going on and every Northern state is getting facelift
There’s this new wave of economic ,development ,infrastructure . Awareness .. there’s an urgent urge to develop

Even almajiris are been reposition and religious extremism.

I’m not a Northerner but lived with them for long.. Nigeria can’t get it right without solving the problem of the North.. unless everyone go answer his papa name.. which is not possible for now.. maybe tomorrow.

A southerner, no matter how good he is .. can’t solve the security challenge in the North.. it took Jonathan to settle millitancy in Niger deltA

Buhari is a failure.. from his days as governor of Jos till today .. he has never been of any good outside Islam .. the northern elites despise him..

But the greedy dream of southwest presidency made them chase a good Nigeria with good workable plan of developing Nigeria and brought Buhari
Even the north do curse Buhari... yes! Even the so call Apc stakeholders.. the hated him more now..

If not for greed ... Nigeria would have gone very far with Jonathan administration.. which they North have come to accept this truth .. except for Yoruba people that keep making noise in other to justify their actions..

I support North presidency... because a 2023 southern President won’t achieve much .. status will continue and be funded with more brutality in mind
A Northerner to clean up their mess and a southerner to build..

If the north is not secure .. walahi it won’t take much for the south to be overrun by bandits.. all those amotekun esn won’t make difference if you understand.... except maybe an all out war .. which your southern governors will avoid .. instead they will sacrifice their own children than face Fulani bandits from Africa.

What Nigerians want is peace and progress .. to grow Nigeria and make it investment heaven.. opening up employment opportunities
This can’t happen if there’s insecurity ..

What Yoruba did to Jonathan can and will still be done to a Yoruba President or southern President.. Northerners ain’t looking for allies in the south..
They already have willing ones.. waiting to be called.

Finally to us is not about where one comes from .. like maman daura righty said...
is all about competency.. about ability to restore Nigeria atleast to 2014 Nigeria before Buhari

Is all about Nigeria as a country and Nigerians

You are a Northerner because you are talking like one. State Police not practical? My friend Lagos already has RRS and other initiatives that helped to make the State comparatively one of the safest in Nigeria given its population.

No Lagos Governor has hijacked the powers of RRS parochially and I wonder why you guys argue fraudulently in trying to win your case.

https://lsstf.lagosstate.gov.ng/rapid-response-squad-rrs/

Giving old and discredited excuses just show you are a conservative Northerner devoted to centrist, inefficient and bloated Control of everything to do with governance.

As for you silly argument about the North developing, perhaps to praise their administrative efficacy, I say let them continue developing beyond 2023 without the Presidency.

Demanding a Northerner continue in power because of modest and long overdue progress seen in the North is a redundant argument.

I personally think a fearless Southern President would still help the North develop better than one of their own graudualist and conservative political leaders who will never understand the concept of tough love given how behind the North is compared to the South.

Abeg campaign for you Northern candidate and leave the rest of us to promote our choice.

Also, being a fan of GEJ continuing in power means I will no longer respond to you if you quote me. Lol.

Brilliant!!! Times like this, with the careless attendant comments from you Igbos, shows the people of the SE are a patently dishonorable, dishonest, deceitful and unprincipled lot who will always put their personal profit above doing/supporting the right and just things in life.

To you it is right and just for Tinubu's effort to make "unlectable" Buhari and the North gain the Presidency, at a time incumbent GEJ held sway and was distributing billions of dollars to Dasuki etal, to be thrown aside because some undeserving upstarts and ingrate Northern hawks, who contributed zilch to where Buhari and the North finds itself today, deem it so?

Comments like this shows you Igbos are very wicked, unprincipled and ready to support unjust behaviour to others so long as you profit through your unprincipled political prostitutes like Umahi, Kalu, Obi etal who are a true reflection of the Igbo people.

I just hope some foolish Yorubas supporting an Igbos Presidency, for the sake of "equity", are watching and learning to note that equitable and just behaviour, towards everyone, is the last thing on the mind of the average Igbo.

Let us keep watching. All I know is that Yorubas are an important, determined and principled enough ethnic group capable of making the North regret any open treachery against Tinubu who did what he had to do to help the North gain power when called upon by same North that was very aggrieved "usurper" GEJ stole power along with his southern and treacherous Northern conspirators.

We are not valueless like Igbos and the North always show they know this. That is what is responsible for this nonsense where the whole Nigeria is focused alone on the candidacy of Tinubu and that of no one else.

Even you Igbos, with your constant talk of Tinubu ahead of selling your own candidate, know what the Yorubas truly are though you will always be loathe to admit it. Tinubu has not declared yet many are working for him feverishly online and offline. My God spare us all so we live beyond 2023.
You yorubas are the ones who are most dishonorable!! Obasanjo has already used the slot of the SW,You currently occupy the 2nd and 4th position in this current government yet you are not satisfied.

The SW has already had their turn, now is the turn of the SS/SE

I understand fears of southerners.. but reality can’t be denied.

The only southerner that north might consider fearless is President Olusegun OBASANJO ..

North might not trust him.. but the fear and respect him till Yoruba people told the North that he’s a nobody and don’t represent his people.
... they took Yoruba for their words and relegated OBJ..
Any other southerner claiming fearless is a waste of time and resources because north don’t and won’t care.
Yoruba rubbished their General while the north will protect and fight any attempt to do that..inwardly they abuse and speak ill .. but not on openly.

State police won’t work in Nigeria unless the country is first restructured.. using Lagos response unit... all police no matter the. And given is under the federal government of Nigeria and under the Nigeria police

What Lagos state has .. ain’t state police..

State police will make Tinubu the real owner of Lagos and not a puppet master holding forth Lagos for Northerners.. who are the real owners of Lagos .. mainly majority of Northern Generals.

Read your link...

2023 election will see the north return to power..
(Walahi, that’s the truth ... and open secret ) with a southern Vice..
the south is divided and can’t do nothing.. the west can scream all .. but it ends there .. because no one trust them.. they shown is all about tribalism.. no jokes.
But it okay for south to Dream..

Southern President is very good for the COUNTRY to balance equations and mend fence.. but it also comes with a great price.. and will push for the quick return of power to North.

My stake is ... let’s face reality and avoid sentimental emotions..
Otherwise there won’t be a country call Nigeria.. I think the Yoruba people should start by redeeming their image and join those calling for restructuring.. they’re part of this government..weda the throw them or not.. all Nigerians know be say na Yoruba government be this .. that’s how North sees it. And they’ve keep saying it .. not mushi mushi talk.

The worst opposition from Yorubas are the North.. though Yoruba sees east as opposition to 2023
That’s not the case...

I keep saying Tinubu should contest primaries for a reason.

North is more desperate to retain power .. just as the west are.
Yoruba chances of surviving what’s coming is to align with the south and support eastern or minorities south President.

You will come back before the year runs out to seek this..

As for Tinubu
My wish is for him to go for Apc primaries and not .. never chicken out..

Are you high this Sunday morning? There I was thinking I am talking to an Igbo ready to defend his ethnic group's right to the Presidency.

Instead you are a Fulani lackey who want them to continue after 8 years of PMB. Are you okay? I personally do not want an Igbo Presidency but I would support such ahead of a Northern Presidency. Thesheer lunacy of what you are suggesting !!!!

Let's even forget zoning and talk competence. What Northerner do you know today that will truly liberalize processes and deliver institutional, state and regional autonomy which will allow every corner of Nigeria develop at their own pace knowing this will mean serious 'teething pain' for the North?

Buhari was the last 'game changer' Northerner I will ever support or campaign for till the south rules for at least 8 uninterrupted years. Yes I want a Yoruba 2023 President but I am not a lunatic to prefer the North remain in power rather than an Igbo become President, if it cannot be Yoruba, because the South cannot keep indulging the North.

How much more evidence do we need to understand that all Northern candidate will continue with the gradualism and conservatism of their predecessors to Nigeria's detriment?

I supported Buhari but truth has to be told. Insecurity, for example, is a deliberate refusal of Buhari and his pro-North cabal to facilitate the groundwork to back State policing which would mean every serious Nigerian State can secure herself with modern, functional and proactive policing. I have no doubt at all the SW will rise to the challenge if given State policing powers.

Yet I am convinced this will never happen under a Northerner because central control of the police is profitable to the North so they will never allow State policing. This is all to the detriment of us in the South.

The South has given the North it's fair chance to reform and reposition Nigeria.blet them hand over to a competent and independent-minded Southerner in 2023 even if an Igbo. The North must not continue in power and you have issues for suggesting they do.

You knew all these about the north and it's conservative hardliners like Buhari, yet wanted to see Igbo blood spilled in 2015 if buhari and osibande had failed at the polls.
Like the vulture that you are, you bayed for Eastern blood and threw owambe when buhari was announced because to you, he was coming to 'deal with the Igbos' and appoint yorubas into every position that required cerebral competence, because according to you 'yorubas are the smartest and sophisticated but abokki no go school and Igbos are out of the way'. Bwahahahaha! grin grin

Today you are beating up yourself and begging the north to relinquish power because your quest to dominate and control buhari's presidency didn't quite pan out and you would have loved. Osibande was completely made a sitting duck, far less effective than a mere commisioner. grin

Typical yoruba man. Always dribbling themselves and getting their fingers burnt in a bid to outsmart others. E really shock u, but more shocks on the way for your stubborn conehead. grin
