Hello MamaEEE, can we use her maiden name for her international passport and tuberculosis test even after our court wedding on Thursday?

Yes, there's no requirements to change names after getting married. If you decide to change names due to marriage, the marriage certificate is sufficient proof of name change for UKVI.

Yes you can it all depends on you... If it's her first passport ever and you want her bearing your name its best you register with that now with your marriage certificate but if you don't mind her keeping a maiden name it's still fine... It's all a matter of choice but bear in mind that what ever name u use on her passport it's what you use for the application and that's what il b on her brb...
Lol it's like I don too stress the matter

I will advice you to let her start using ur name.. you are married to her, using her surname can impose a little challenge wen she come over.

Let her passport bears ur name. Sometimes here some organization demand ur passport details for name confirmation like opening bank account, renting an accommodation even employment check list. Is better u start early to start getting every documents on the right track.
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Bourne007(m): 2:01pm On Feb 07, 2021
So what kind of challenge?

No organisation has the right to impose or demand a change of name before @bolded can be done. Neither it's a must to change name before @bolded can be actioned as long as proof of identity matches

You do not need her bank statement for the application... So that answers your ? That don't matter
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by mimilyrics: 11:06am On Feb 08, 2021
There's no challenge with using a different surname as her husband as long as her ID documents and BRP all have the same names as the name she's using. It all boils down to preference.
I used my maiden name for a while after I got married and I had absolutely no issues with any organisation. I only formally updated my details with the applicable organisations when the names on my ID documents changed.

The only financial document as regard bank statement should be yours, to show u meet up d 18600. Like I said hers is not needed. All she gets to submit from her end is TB certificate, marriage certificate, English test or meric and Passport. If u have a child already birth certificate of the child is needed....
As regards what u saying abt her living expenses. If u have receipts from wsh ever means u usually send her cash,eg western union, money transfer apps etc .they usually send email confirmation abt ur transactions, u can print those and add to the application. That il cover for the evidence for her upkeep from you

Spousal and fiancee visa applications are for those with permanent residence in the UK. Dependants of Tiered visa holders need the dependant visa application. Pls make sure you fill the right application form to avoid stories that touch.
For dependant visas, the maintenance can be in either the main applicant's account or the dependant's account.

Exactly why I’m confused too. The information I got earlier is that after getting wedding certificate, I can file for my wife while I arrive in the UK and this is going to be a dependent Visa with £6120 as her one year maintenance fees. I think mamaEEE May have forgotten my story due to my many questions wink

You should be able to correct this on the day of your biometrics. You may be required to pay for assisted service like you have said.

Q1. Dear please don't think of doing it. I know it is possible in Nigeria, don't complicate matters that might give you a ban of 10 years, then u have y self to blame. Most of this registry embassy still do underground check and if you go ahead and tidy a marriage certificate, the court might not document it for you and embassy now make enquiry noting to proof you did wedding at their registry. Beside you can only tidy up marriage certificate in local registry not in recognized registry that are standard. My advice just exercise patience and pray the pemdemic ends and y hubby comes bk and you do real registry.

Q2. Any one is preferable provided the certificate is recognised.

Q3. Pictures matters alot. It is part of the prove. Very relevant! Just you and hubby and two witnesses are just ok.

Moreso, you need to verify if the visa that your hubby have in the UK can bring in the partner. Because if the visa can not bring in partner then you have to be visiting. Just verify and know the kind of visa, then the house can advise.

Thanks soooo much.
Hubby came back October, we dis our Court October.
I did my Biometrics on 22nd January 2021, and got a reply on 2nd February 2021 via standard.

Greetings to everyone in this wonderful family.

My cousin alongside her kids did their biometrics on the 9th of December, 2020 and UKVI sent acknowledgment emails that applications have been received.

14th December 2020: An email came in from Sheffield that IHS payment is needed for the kids, as the system seemingly exempted them(kids) during the process of completing and submitting the visa forms. IHS payments were made same day and acknowledgment emails received.

19th January, 2021: This email came up: “ Thank you for your online application which has been received at the UK Decision Making Centre. Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer”.

Up till now, no further information and the tracking still show that the applications are still with DMC.

Please, gurus what’s the best step we should take? Thanks in advance

Please continue posting your enquiries here, the previous thread has reached and passed 100 pages.
Part1 is here for reference purposes: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-30156.0.html
. . .sorry for the inconvenience grin

Hello Nairaland family, I need any help and suggestions regarding response I got after applying for eu settlement visa from Nigeria. Actually, I'm older than 24. I do my own biz and have good evidence for that. I got a letter and strangely, I submitted basically 95% of all that was required and even stated in that letter.
PLEASE SEE THE LETTER HERE:
You have failed to provide any evidence of your relationship with your claimed sister. I would expect to see both your birth certificates, other relevant birth documentation issued at the time of the event and other credible documentation evidencing your stated shared parentage.
REFUSAL OF EEA FAMILY PERMIT [I PROVIDED BIRTH CERTS OF MYSELF AND MY SISTER PLUS AN AFFIDAVIT OF MY PARENTS STATING ALL OUR FULL NAMES AND THEIR CHILDREN]

You are claiming to be dependent upon your sponsor. To evidence this you have provided various money transfers made from your sponsor to you dating from 27/03/2020. I am not satisfied however that you have demonstrated that this money pays for your essential needs in Nigeria.
I also find it noteworthy that your passport indicates extensive regional travel over a several-year period. I am not satisfied that this is consistent with someone who is reliant on financial support from your EEA national sponsor for your essential needs. You state that your sponsor entered the UK on 10/09/2019. [SHE DON'T HAVE RECEIPTS FOR EVERY TRANSFERS FROM THAT DATE TILL NOW, BUT THERE WERE TIMES SHE HAD SOMEONE GIVE ME MONEY.. ONLY CHAT CONVERSATIONS ARE AVAILABLE TO SHOW THIS]
However, you have not provided any evidence of dependency on your sponsor between that date and 27/03/2020. This office would expect to see regular money transfers from the date your sponsor entered the UK to present. As such, this does not demonstrate regular and sole dependency on your sponsor and for this reason I cannot be satisfied that you are dependent upon your sponsor as claimed.
You are of working age, however it does not appear that you are working in order to support yourself financially, and the documents you have submitted do not confirm why you are not working and supporting yourself in Nigeria. [I DIDN'T REALLY SUBMIT THIS BECAUSE IT WASN'T LISTED AS PART OF THE REQUIREMENTS ON THE FORM AND CHECKLIST] I note that on your application you state that you are financially supported by your sponsor, however the documents you submitted do not demonstrate you are receiving any regular support from your sponsor. The evidence you have provided has not demonstrated your dependency on your sponsor or that your sponsor pays for your essential needs in Nigeria such as rent and food. It is also noted that you have not provided any evidence regarding your own financial situation such as bank statements or other documents indicating financial incomings and outgoings. [I SUBMITTED MY BANK STATEMENTS, 2 BANKS FOR THAT MATTER.. ONE WAS FOR 4 OR 6 MONTHS I THINK, THE OTHER WAS ONLY FOR 1 MONTH, AND IT HAS MY SALARY STATEMENT IN IT.] In the absence of this evidence I have been unable to sufficiently establish your dependency upon your EEA sponsor because I am unable to establish if you need the financial support from the EEA national to meet your essential needs. On the evidence submitted in support of your application and, on the balance of probability, I am not satisfied you are wholly or mainly financially dependent on your sponsor or, if you are, I am not satisfied that it is a dependency of necessity rather than choice.

I therefore refuse your EEA Family Permit application because I am not satisfied that you meet all of the requirements of regulation 8 of the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2016.
I therefore also refuse your EEA Family Permit application because I am not satisfied that you meet all of the requirements of regulation 12 (see ECGs EUN2.23) of the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2016.

Your right of appeal You have 28 days from the date you receive this decision to appeal. Information on how to appeal, the appeal process and the fees payable are all available online at: https://www.gov.uk/immigration-asylum-tribunal/appeal-from-outside-the-uk
If you want to seek legal advice you must do so now.

I have about 25 days to go. I'll be hoping for a helpful solution.. Big thanks in advance!!
