Yea the writing and some of the acting pissed me off at first but I got the message. The message and how it was delivered was what Hooked me. Yea, it was a bit kinda fast paced but that is a typical Nigerian style of film. So I see it as it is. I am yet to see any Nigerian movie that is a slow burn. So that one no count.

Oga forget, it's either you're using Hollywood metrics to judge the movie or you haven't watched much recent Nollywood films. In terms of the story and delivery this is way better than the stupid lots we see year in year out. The fact that it's not even a comedy genre is a plus to it. Why I loved the movie or gave it as high as a 7 was primarily because of the scene where the Benin Girl Linda got herself killed. A typical Nigerian movie would find a means of letting her escape death. That alone earned it 1 point.

About the ending; yep it's kinda set up for a sequel. I felt that too. But I'm seeing the movie as an independent bunch/ project. So that ending is okay by me. Hollywood uses such cheap trick always everyday.

There's no movie on this planet Earth that the message being passed across isn't known already. It's just the delivery or method of approach that differs or another angle or viewpoint.

On the Bini language: I'm from Edo state, and I tell you the Bini spoken in the film is very passable. The mother of the girl spoke perfect Bini. The Linda actress who got killed wasn't too good with the language but her spoken language was forgivable. It wasn't horrible as you're trying to paint it.

And for the ending.... Not giving me a sunshine and rainbows ending ultimately gave it an added point. So all in all, it would have been 5/10 but those above mentioned reasons are why I gave it that high rating.

This is a pretty good gritty take on the sexual exploitation and human trafficking underworld in the Nigerian sphere.

I like how it tries to be very realistic. I thought the ending might be a little happy ending with rainbow and some sunshine, but no, I was surprised. Nice twist. That's how I like it, realism to the core. Love how the end was open ended. You're left to fill in the gap. Anyway you please.


If this movie didn't win any major award in the movie industry for 2020 then I'd be pissed.
This Netflix partnership seems to be doing some good. Keep up the good work Mo Abudu and EbonyLife Films. Big ups to the Director Kenneth Gyang.
