I don't understand anything about the recruitment.
-Who are tradesmen/ women and non tradesmen/ women?
And this age limit is too low
- Can a BSc holder above 23 with no trade certificate apply or qualification under the tradesmen/women category apply?
- Also, all applicants for this recruitment must fall between the tradesmen/ women and non tradesmen/women category?

Hello,
There are basically 3 routes to joining the military.

First is through gaining admission into the NDA (Nigerian Defence Academy) with your SSCE. Here you will spend about 5years in the NDA, obtain Bsc and be commissioned as a senior officer.

Second, you join as a graduate through DSSC/SSC (Direct Short Service Commision /Short Service Combatant). Here after about 6months of rigorous training, you will be commissioned as a senior officer.

Third, you join as a tradesman with your OND/NCE/or Trades Certificate, or join as Non-Tradesman (a.k.a Recruits).
There are different age Limits for the different routes, but it will be stated whenever the recruitment opens.

As a Bsc holder and above 23, you cannot apply for this. Wait till they start DSSC/SSC recruitment.

If you join the military, you become first, a Soldier. It simply means dat you are basically there to fight, and may likely not have the opportunity to further your education.

Few would be lucky to serve under good Oga dat would influence their postings, and thereby enabling them to enroll for a course. Some will have trust in their godfather, just like you think dat your father can help wt ur postings.

Have you imagined that you joined, and unfortunately your father kicks the bucket, or the person he has retires or leaves office?

After schooling while in service, there is no guarantee of promotion. There is a chance of enrolling back to military through DSSC/SSC but that is not also guaranteed.

My advise:

If your father has 4G network to help you, why not first obtain your Degree, and let him help you through DSSC/SSC.

If he cant guarantee that, then join as a recruit, and pray for favour.

Let me believe you knws what the trade cert is all about. Just type and search these key words on google: "NAIRALAND HOW TO GET TRADE TEST CERTIFICATE"
...There are couple of threads created by people seeking such information here on nairaland. I hope you get what you want, but be careful of people sharing numbers there. Few can help, most are scammers.

For general knowledge sake, read about trade certs here
