The perception is that you're mostly either silent on the happenings in your region, or you support the status quo.

Let me disabuse you of your complacency.

The bandits of today were born 18-35 years ago.
Check the population and poverty index at the time.
Both statistics are now over 500% worse.
- I stand to be corrected.

When the current almajiris come of age, there will be millions of youths-
Drug addicts, hardened by neglect, lacking in the slightest sense of compassion or societal values.
-Unlike the current lot who still grudgingly pay attention/dues to their elders and authority figures.
And every single one of them filled with a deep, abiding hatred and despair.

They will ALL come for you. ALL of you.
At that time- 5 to 10 years from now, at the most- the current crop of bandits will be seen as "soft" criminals, in comparison.

So. Who will solve this problem?
60 years in the making, who's solved any of your problems?
Therefore-
If not you, who?

I suggest you organise yourselves and begin a consistent and persistent campaign of activism in both governance and problem solving.
The time to act is extremely short and your window for action is closing at a frightening rate.

Or, you can continue as you are-
Complaining or praising on social media.
Burying your head in the sand.
Waiting for a savior politician.

But from now henceforth, you can't say you didn't know.

God help us all.

PS-
It's assumed that graduates from other regions will take this message to heart as well.
To do otherwise would be a great folly.

What about the non-graduates who make up a large part of the criminal brigades ?

Let's also talk of the Northern graduates that end up as esteemed bigots and cabalists, directly responsible for the establishment, funding and support of these criminal brigades??

All hands must be on deck

See letter from a person who has almost all graduates around him and undergraduates into cultism, Yahoo scam and all sort of illegitimate businesses. What I perceived from the enemies of North is just to see us taking arms against govt or against each other just like how the education of our southern counterparts is exposed during Endsars protest.
Atleast, the Northern graduates ensured more accountability and better governance than any part of this nation. It's only in the north that people enjoy dividends of democracy with averagely fair social amenities; fine roads, pipe born water, schools and hospitals fairly managed well by govt.
I concede that most beggers are Northerners but I prefer to beg than sell sex home and abroad to survive. Xenophobic attacks on Nigerians is as a result of the persistent involvement of some southerners into outdated business of human trafficking & peddling hard drugs across the world. Is it not absurd for some group of people to still adhere to ritual activities to make money in 21st century?
It's obvious prostitution is an old profession but unfortunately in 21st century some families in the south are proud of sending their female daughters to Europe for sex work and the most disappointing part of it some are even found in war ravaged Libya, Mali and even Niger Republic selling sex. It's so shameful and disgusting to know that 80% of foreign Prostitutes in Europe are Nigerians and their tribes is well known for the shitty business.
The same people who consistently call others poor are complaining hard abt the national economy and have thousands of people begging online, the average graduate from some section of this country are known for online scam which is equally a new form of arm robbery, stealing, fraud and is completely out of our culture and heritage.
Every group of people have stages of civilization and the phases come with different challenges. OP, you should mind your immediate problem before calling out others.

The person that wrote this must be a Yoruba. Only Yoruba think being a graduate makes the difference or comes before national interests.

Only Yoruba have lost so much and will still lose everything including their land for the sake of Nigeria, religion and imaginary unity.

I'm not obsessed, I'm protective of my nation, Yoruba nation that is. It's so sad that some of you are so dumb, it's scary. Let me break it down for you since you are on a toddler's level. Northern 'graduates' loyalty is first and last to their people and their causes. Writing to them shows your weakness and ignorance of what is going on in Nigeria. The north is doing exactly what is expected of it, the region is not content with what it has because it sees the imbecilic SW as not deserving what it has, they are probably asking why God gave slaving monkeys resources when they don't know the value. Yoruba go to school but will use it all to serve under the north. Yoruba asked for the treatment they get from both the east and the north, the day Yoruba stand up and say NO, I mean real no, not the empty noise is when they will be free. You lose both battle and war the day your opponent knows you are all bark no bite. Yoruba are a joke right now and will remain for a long time if there's no earth shattering move to change the course. When all what you have is being dragged by others who have their own all to themselves, you are already dead and it's a matter of time before you lose even the clothes on your back. If you like get on your knees and beg the north, you will only be begging to surrender to them. The north wants one thing and one thing only, total suppression of Yoruba nation. They know Yoruba are weak minded and that's why they are relentless like vultures waiting around sick people in Darfur. Even British left Nigeria in 3 nations just like their own 4 in UK and the people go by English, Welsh, Irish and Scottish but in the big fraud Nigeria they scream unity while raping other tribes to death. Why are people scared of their God given nationality? God didn't create Nigeria, British did and it will never work.

Northern graduates have no problems with government. 100% of them graduate and join Federal or State Civil service. Do you meet any Northern graduate at any corporate interview?
They cannot complain, it is only when Nigeria disintegrates that they will appreciate the goose that lays the golden eggs. They are not suffering under or unemployment. Even if they cannot write simple sentenses.

The fact that their region have you all chained down goes to show that whatever they are doing is working. They are smarter, better and more intelligent.

Lord Lugard is no longer to blame, the people who chose to stay in slavery without putting up any fight are responsible. Many countries have since broken up and given themselves new identities.

1914 amalgamation is an excuse, Nigerians love the way things are. Hausa, Fulani and Igbos want Nigeria because that's the only way they can survive. Ijaw and the oil rich minorities who have everything they need are confused. Yoruba who have everything a rich country needs have slave mentality.

You are just wasting your time with empty words that have no bearing in reality.

The north talks less and they have outsmarted you english speaking heads of the SW in every way possible.

The point is, the north has amassed power from nothing and wielding it over Yoruba, the natural powerhouse as it wants and you can't and haven't done anything about it.

You are the one with close mind and missing the important point. Power has brought so much to the north, that's why you are being screwed and all you could do is write to them. Writing or addressing any form of aggression from the position of weakness is a step from succumbing to their wish. Both the learned and unlearned in that part of the world are the same and work toward the same goal. All you need to do is wake up and stop making Yoruba look weak.

As someone who once lived in Yobe and Kano States, i know that this is a big fallacy sir.

Northern graduates also face unemployment and under employment.
There are also Northerners (in smaller numbers) working in MTN, Banks, Aviation sector, OANDO etc

Percentage of graduates in the North is smaller than in the South that's why you don't see them competing in large numbers with Southerners in the private sector.
