I Kept All My Money In My Wife's Account, Now There's Problem by Kelvin30286063(m): 10:24am On Feb 17, 2021
After the recent CBN directive that accounts of cryptocurrency traders should be closed by banks. I was a little panicked cuz I have invested in crypto a few times. So I decided to act fast and move all my money into my wife's account.
My wife happen to be someone that likes to make money but hates to spend it. Most of the times she always complain about how much I spend to fix my car, how much I'm spending to feed the dogs and so on like that. But I didn't know keeping all my money in her account will lead to an headache like this.

After the transfer, I realize that I'll have to ask her to send money to me if I want to do anything but we have a good relationship so I'm not concerned about that until questions start now.
If I ask my wife to send money to me. I'll have to explain what I want to do with it.
The most annoying part now is that she goes to school for an advance degree and most times she goes early in the morning so she won't cook before leaving. I'll wake up, do the necessaries and when I'm hungry, there won't be food! As an understanding husband, I will want to order food, I don't have money! I'll still have to call her to transfer to me. After that, I noticed she has taken the only atm card at home with her! What's all these now!

If I ask her to transfer my money back, no issue but I'm worried CBN might close my account and wahala will burst but I'm not used to this kind of lifestyle. I've always provided and give, now I have to take from her and still explain what I need it for!
I swear I don't know what to do.

Please mods should NOT move my post to front page. I don't need any form of popularity from this, I only want the opinion of people that visit family section cuz I know many of us are married and experienced

This is easy but you made it complicated by entrusting your money to a woman. It's a very wrong move irrespective of the relationship, wether wife, girlfriend or whatever. Never make such mistake again. Be a man.

Secondly, I believe you have a brother that you can entrust your money to or probably your father. You could have just transferred some of the money and then be left with reasonable amount in another bank account.

However, I'd urge you to collect your money from your wife and keep it in care of your father or your brother.

Don't trust women fully

Stay safe and be a man!

Please do so. I'd urge you to. You seem like a nice person. Your wife shouldn't have acted that way.

Stay safe. COVID is real

Dear Op,
Women listen to their pastor more than anyone these days...

That's not a problem, unless you're spending money on a side chick. Give her a list of the day's payments every morning and let her make them for you. Think of it like having an unpaid secretary.

By the way, I don't think the CBN meant those who have bought or sold crypto a couple of times, I think it's for those exchange centres that deal in crypto.

transfer it to your mom account, download the bank app on your phone so that you can do transactions yourself without calling anybody.
CBN won't freeze your account though.

Well I don't have a side chick but you point is not valid cuz most times she doesn't agree with what I spend money on. Take for instance, I need to take 2 of our 3 dogs for vaccination today, that will cost me about 15k. My wife can't know about that cuz it's unreasonable to her that I'll use 15k to vaccinate dogs. And many other things she complains about. She's very frugal with money. That's a good thing actually but not when it's affecting me.
As for the CBN. I don't want to take risk

Bro, keep cash under your mattress. Your problem is too multifaceted to find a simpler solution than going back to the basics.

Concerning the vaccination, explain to her the true consequences of actually contacting rabies.

No matter the love when it comes to money issue you will understand that money is somehow involve in that love .

Back to the issue ,you cannot trust anybody even your own brother when it comes to money matter because money has a way of changing people. So think of how u can collect all your money back from your wife I know the money will not be complete wink tel her you want to invest in a business instead of leaving the money in her account if not you will continue to be a slave to use your own money .

Sorry for the pain! To avoid frequenting her with so many withdrawing requests I think you should plan how much you need in a week/month and withdraw it at once. Your wife is like my late father you must give reasons for whatever you need the money for.

And I like women who are frugal, at least to a point that common sense allows, while you're here complaining about your woman.
This life is truly not balanced cheesy

What exactly do you think would be her issue with the vaccination?

Does she have a place in mind where it can be done cheaper, or she doesn't want you to vaccinate the dogs at all?

Your answer will help me determine the true colour of her problem.

Keeping such numbers of dogs and spending so much on them should mean that they are bringing in more money for you that is, you use them for business, anything outside that is quite wasteful, what will you be doing with plenty dogs?

As for the money, open a new account with a different bank, ask her to transfer the money into the account or you pick her phone and do the transfer yourself, she won't object because it is your money, don't try to paint her bad.

@OP

You seemed like a good man!

However, for you not to be affected anymore with your wife's level of frugality, a map out plan on what you'll be needing for the day/week/month would work here.

Paint her bad. How did I do that?
I love dogs and we've had 2 burglary issues in 1 year. Having dogs around help solve that problem. My dogs are not a problem to my wife. I have people that comes in to clean the house and take care of them and I don't think there is a number of dogs you should have as long as you can take care of them.
If this post looks like I'm painting her bad to you then you must be a very difficult person to deal with.

Whatever you think about me is inconsequential.
Wait until immature boys rubbish your wife's effort at being frugal and concort stories like she is controlling you and help you dissect your home.

Bank limitation. You can't open a new account and deposit funds running into 6m in it immediately. They will close it and ask you to come for more information therefore keeping your money on the limbo. I have been there before.

Well I'm not a kid. No one can convince me otherwise from what I know, especially not those immature boys. Meanwhile, I'm not giving any negative impression about my wife. I'm only seeking solution to a problem I have and I have to explain one way or the other.

Don't transfer any money to any body, be it father, mother or siblings, cos only God can be trusted especially this one that involves money. Calculate all you will be needing for the month and collect it in lump sum from your wife. At least you are seeing your wife everyday, if you mistakenly transfer the money to any siblings, I tell you na story go end am.
