Fatalveli and NwadiNK one more question please.

My elder brother has promised to assist me with the 10,236 euros on the condition that i send back 700 euros back to him every month after i must have secured a job within 1-2 months hopefully. He said he heard students can earn up to 800 euros per month so i can fend for myself after getting a job. So HE is saying the 853 euros the government gives back to me every month i should be sending back 700 euros once i secure a job since i can use what i earn to pay for all my bills. Is this true or possible? kindly respond.

Getting a job within 1-2months might not be possible because you need to extend your visa and get work permit, this takes 3 to 4 months after your arrival.
Maybe you can send money back to him after 6months.

Guys yesterday I went to the embassy for my students visa interview booked under cat A and paulinus turned me back just because of blocked acct after waiting over years to get an appointment date. After all the expenses I made travelling from East to vi Lagos and at last everything ends in dissapointment upon after presenting all my proof of the transfer... receipt, bank statement and email letter from the bank. After pleading with paulinus he neglected my pleas and I was like the ground should open let me fall in. As I was leaving people ask me what happened and when I told them they said that the German consulate is the worst consulate there in Lagos. They throw people away and reject people's application for a reason or no reason. Fellow nairalanders I will advise if u dont have ur block acct better cancel earlier or don't go at all in orther not to waste ur pressures time and money.

Honestly, let anyone not say false information here.
The problem here is that palinus or what soever
And did call himself pastor. After showing him all the proves, and all your expenses He was still rigid hearted to send you back.

Honestly If you had entered, Visa officer won't have sent you back.

Guy, if you know you can make a sacrifice to go to country like turkey or Cyprus south Cyprus. Finish your one year MBA or leave it once you get your resident permit to apply to Germany from here. It's far better with all this stress.

I left Nigeria last years September for my MBA program in south Cyprus here and I will finish by July. Will be going to finland for 1month elective course.
With the stamp on my passport, applying for germany from here will be very easy by God grace.
For me I decided to finish my MBA, because it worth it. Having MBA in an EU country and going to Germany again for Msc course again would be an added advantage

I must be sincere with you, it tough here, because you can only get per time job of 500euro
But your monthly expenses with feeding is very cheap like 220euro. So to me it's an opportunity cost.

Am just giving you guys an insight of plan B
Best of luck guy
I feel for you, I was hurt when I got rejected like this in 2019 too. Be strong, God will reward
It's just a matter of time

Study visas now come with temporary work permit. Valid for as long as the the visa is valid. So, getting job in the first 2 months MIGHT be possible.

My sister got her visa on November 2020 and there wasn't anything like work permit on it. Please be sure so that you don't mislead people.
I noticed those that came in from Dubai had work permit in their visa already but not in German consulate Lagos.

Guys, i need help/advice with something.
i am a graduate of mechanical engineering but currently working as a software developer (with close to 2 years of experience) i planned doing a MSc course in computer science (web/data engineering related) since it's inline with my present line of work. i got about 4 schools from DAAD offering the course, i contacted them just to be sure of my eligibility but they said without a BSc degree in computer science, i won't be granted admission.
currently i am not so sure of how to proceed from this spot.
please does anyone know of any school that can likely offer me admission probably base on experience instead of BSc??
any advice on another course I can likely take that is related to web/data engineering?

please any info or advice on way out is welcomed.

That’s about 4 months ago (quite some time). People have gotten visas after your sister did. Some folks from Lagos got visas with temporary work permit. That your sister’s visa didn’t have a temporary work permit doesn’t invalidate others experience.

The truth is that it depends on so many factors. It is possible for you to get a job withing 3 months of your arrival. If you're lucky to be in a big city. The chances of you getting a job, without you speaking German is high. Once you get a job, you wouldn't touch your Blocked account anymore. Your first payout from the Blocked account, might go for rent and the deposit. Once you get a job, you wouldn't touch the Blocked account again. Just as someone pointed out, the worst case scenario...he would start getting his money back from the 4th month.

There are some situations that might prevent you from working, like preparing for exams or if you don't get enough shift(s). Tell your sponsor that he would get his money back. I believe you won't betray the trust. Good luck.

This is very valid too. The study visa is valid as work permit pending renewal or extension. Apt

Hi daramolatoye, sorry I just saw your reply now.

Yeah I would also like to apply to Hafencity Uni. And honestly i'm a bit confused as to when the application period starts for most of these German schools.

Hey Philzondabeat,
Winter applications for most schools start at same period... I think that's around March or April... I'm not too sure now... You can always find your answers on Uniassist...

For Surveying & Geoinformatics courses, you should check out Bonn Universität too... Theirs is a direct application... No Uniassisst... They have three options you can choose from, but I must warn you that getting admission there is by God's grace...dem competition for available spaces dey really high...

Then Potsdam Universität (theirs is Remote Sensing tho), Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences, Technische Universität Berlin, Hafencity Universität (Hydrography option)

It's so annoying how you people can't prove your points in an argument without using cuss words and curses...

If the other party doesn't want to reason with you, mind your business...or add more evidence(s) without using curses...

You blame German consulate for not issuing AD while you can't even manage a normal adult argument on a forum ehn...

Small time now, you lot will start booking testimony space on NL... What space biko? Same space you've used to curse somebody else's child

Haba, change your ways o...
Person no fit even read 3 straight pages without seeing "oloshi, oloriburuku, idiot"...

This nairaland self is somehow. Some people are supposed to be animals.
Like one guy saying "Dont waste your precious time going to that embassy", isnt it clear that the guy is looking for ways to discourage people. Him himself hasnt been to the embassy to confirm what he is saying.
Yet they will come here and start typing rubbish.

They are just stupid, coward and heartless. But some people will still fall for their lies and got discouraged.

A quick one. For those who are scholarship student when you get to the embassy did they just ask for the scholarship document to see or they collect it and never return.

Pls I want to ask does age really matters when applying as graduate student? I am 38 and need to know if I am eligible. Also can I start the language course immediately when I get there or its a criteria to obtain the student visa. Thanks
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Nobody: 7:29pm On Feb 18, 2021
I do not think this is a problem. You will just need to justify the time with working experience. Gaining admission is not the issue, getting an appointment is the real deal.

I hope you are going for a course related to your first degree, this is also important in some cases when it comes to visa approval.

Good evening guys.
For a program starting in september or october? When do you advice me to apply for a visa? Admission letter has just been received.
I've been reading that visa applications are reset in March/September. Is it too early to start? I honestly feel with the backlog and queue, it isn't too early, but I'd like to get your feedback.
Thanks
