When last have you seen the super eagles fly during matches. Rather we swim on the field of play.
So, if they travel by sea, its just a sign of what to expect on the field. They are going to swim and not fly.

People hardly survive in boat mishap and plane crash,but in road accident,the casualty is less.

The only advantage air has over road is escape from kidnappers and highway robbery, ditto, boat, attack by sea pirates.
