Good afternoon guys. Please I need help!



I unknowingly sent My Previous Bitcoins Address to my friend who successfully transferred the money only for me to discover that I sent the old/previous address.to him. Now my account balance still remains unchanged at the same way which it was!



How do I transfer the funds from my old address back to my new address? How do I recover my funds back?

A bitcoin wallet is permitted to have thousands of addresses. And you can use one address to send and receive bitcoin to your wallet without any problem even though it makes it very easy for scammers to track your wallet. So if you are referring to one of the bitcoin addresses you used in the past, your bitcoin should get to your wallet anytime soon if your friend actually sent it.

But if you are referring to a different wallet ID, then all you need to do is gain access to that wallet, check your bitcoin and transfer it to your new wallet ID using the new wallet address of your new wallet ID

It's as simple as that.

You can do that if you have the seed phrase/private keys.

You seem not to be into cryptógoing by your question. A seed phrase is a combination of phrases e.g (elephant capture calculate) that you are asked to write down when you create a wallet, the phrase is randomly generated and is between 12 - 24 phrase long. Some wallets don't use seed phrases but rather use private key, a private key is an alphanumeric number generated randomly that grants access to a wallet to the person that has these keys. the keys are about 42 numbers/alphabet long. Should you mistakenly lose any of the above, the person that gets possesion of it now owns your wallet and can transfer any coin in it by simply recovering the wallet. Secondly should you delete your wallet app by mistake and you don't have the above your money/coins is gone. Hope I made sense?

Thanks sir! I'm very certain that he sent it as he has never delayed before. And to make matters worse, I can't find the funds on my wallet. This is the 2nd time I've experienced this incident and it's no longer funny

I think the Blockchain app has security issues and you can confirm it when you check their reviews on Google Play

Also, I've the Private keys of the wallet although it's in the 12 word format...any possible solution will be appreciated �

You're welcome. Which wallet are you using? Is it blockchain or Luno? Luno is good but it can give someone blood pressure. Someone sends btc to you, luno may delay it for 3 confirmations which may take another 24-48 hours. It's so frustrating. But if he indeed sent it, btc doesn't do chargeback or retraction. That is, if I send btc to you, i cannot manipulate or try to scam you by recalling it back. Once sent, it is sent. It will definitely come in. But your wallet type also will determine whether you will see your btc in time or not.

Another thing you can do is to update your browser or the app you use for that btc, whether it is blockchain or Luno.

Oh yes I use Blockchain app for my Bitcoins. Also I've updated my Blockchain app this Morning but it's all to no avail. I just don't know what else to do!�

I can send bîtcoin to you and adjust the gas fee to only $0.20, now it will appear on your end as unconfirmed, if you are a newbie chances are that you will release the payment. Then I go back and do same amount of transaction or my entire balance with a high gas fee, the second one is confirmed very fast and you keep waiting for yours and it will automatically fail after 48 hours. I have the bîtcoin and I have your money. This is why exchanges insist on certain amount of confirmation before deposit and even hold a portion of your balance till the whole transaction is complete. Each network has a minimum amount of confirmation at which point the money is debited from a senders wallet and is on it's way to the reciever, should you pay before the minimum confirmations are done, anything can happen to your money.

No this is not a chargeback situation, a charge back occurs on paypal when a transaction has gone through. In this case the transaction never occured and was just someone playing a fast one. This case is similar to ejecting a debit card from an Atm before a transaction is complete, so the atm reads it as terminated transaction. The transaction will not be documented on the blockchain and is assumed never to happen.

Are you trying to suggest that he could have played a fast one on me with Bitcoin double spending? Also can someone double spend with the Bitcoin ATM machine?

If truly he actually trick me with double spend, wasn't I supposed to receive the 2nd tiny payment which he sent because I didn't received any penny!

Sorry, I only gave you a situation that has been happening of recently, now I don't know the person you bought from so can't tell if yours is a mistake or an intentional job to defraud you. Everything here is based on trust. Check the transaction id on block explorer and see the condition of the transfer.
