WWE SMACKDOWN REVIEWS, RECAPS AND REACTIONS 2014 awesomeness Daniel Bryan walked out and Yes chanted with a steel chair in hand. He said that the good news is, Roman Reigns is alive, even though he said he’d rather die than tap out to him. He is tired of letting people come in and take things that they didn’t earn. But because he is who he is, he isn’t asking to be given the title or be inserted into the main event of WrestleMania, instead, he wants to earn it. And earn it with a rematch tonight for the Universal championship. He set the chair up in the ring and said he wouldn’t leave until he got what he wanted. They came back from break and Bryan was still sitting there. To WWE’s credit, they actually did give a nice length of time to this. Adam Pearce came out and said he can’t give Bryan what he wants. Bryan proposed facing the winner of the WrestleMania match right after theirs, and Pearce played double standard. Edge came out and slapped the microphone out of Pearce’s hand. He told Bryan he sat by for a month watching Bryan act like a knight in shining armor, even when he lost to Reigns twice. Bryan talking about how this could be his last WrestleMania, but Edge said every match could be his last match. Edge called Bryan a son of a bitch, and Bryan attacked him. Edge hit the spear and then grabbed the steel chair and hit Bryan once, and threw it down. Edge slithered out of the ring with an evil look in his eye and a twitch. That was a great interaction and sell from both men. This is actually the story I’d been hoping they told and it’s happening! Reigns was shown looking at the replay of what had just happened, and demanded to see Pearce. He told Jey to use force to get him there if he had to. My goodness the bass in Reigns voice when he demands something. It’s.... ahem. Let’s move on. Pearce showed up and Reigns said he should thank them. At WrestleMania Reigns will be there for one night, and for one match. Pearce said he’s inclined to agree, but there are several things to consider. His decision will come later. Edge continued his turn to the dark side by threatening Pearce later in the show, saying he better make the right decision, or else. He then walked right into Reigns’ room and told him that if he has the pull he really says he does, he should do something about Bryan weaseling his way back into a main event like he did in 2014. This was brilliant. Pearce went to the ring and immediately was followed by Reigns, Edge, and Bryan. He said he understands everyone’s issues laid out by Bryan to start the show. But he also said Bryan was right when he said there was a double standard and that he deserved another opportunity. His official decision, there will be a triple threat match at night 2 of WrestleMania. And two of the three men did not like that decision. But what one of those men attempted to do sealed his heel turn, in my eyes at least. Bryan and Edge brawled, and Reigns Superman punched Bryan. Edge speared Reigns, and then this vindictive bastard grabbed two steel chairs and placed both men’s heads on them and went to get another steel chair. Yes, Edge was about to do what Randy Orton did to him last year. Thankfully Pat Buck and Jaime Noble made him lose focus and he hit them both with the chair while Reigns and Bryan escaped. Everyone is now the best version of themselves. This, without a doubt, is 2014 all over again. And thankfully, they also pivoted with Edge like they did with Batista. Of course there were people who made sure they heard there needed some pivoting, but hey that’s semantics. This is going to be one of the best WrestleMania main events in quite some time. Distractions, distractions Before the match, Bianca Belair cut a fire promo. She said she will be the bigger person and focus on her business, and she was the bigger person last week so she could be the better person at WrestleMania. But first, she has some business with Natalya to tend to, so you should get the kids out of the room because they shouldn’t see what she’s about to do. That was amazing! So the match started, and surprise surprise... out came Sasha Banks and Belair turned a full 180 from Natalya on the apron and focused on her instead of the match. Of course Tamina took advantage while the referee wasn’t looking. I really hate these. Bianca doesn’t need to be made to look dumb when the music plays. After cutting that promo, she had the fire in her to put Natalya down quick and made you believe she planned her attack and was focused. But Sasha’s music played so nah let’s just stop the match. It’s dumb. It’s always been dumb. After the shitty booking of this feud though, I just can’t stay silent about it. Stop this nonsense. Luckily, the last part of the match and finish were great. Belair slapped Banks hard and went into the ring and pinned Natalya. Banks lost it and hit the backstabber on her WrestleMania opponent. No games, no all three heels take advantage of the fallen babyface, no staredown and pointing at the sign. This ending is what the build to WrestleMania could have been all along. If you feel that Sasha and Bianca aren’t deserving of the marquee match because they aren’t good enough for it, you’re wrong. WWE decided to butcher this build with stupid tag matches and booking that wasn’t necessary. Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair should main event night 1. They deserve it. Former friends fight again Kevin Owens hosted the KO Show with his guest, Sami Zayn. But he only really had just one question for Zayn. And Zayn made sure to drag out the process as long as humanly possible, because he knew what the question was. Zayn announced that next week, WWE will have a red carpet event for the trailer of his documentary and there will be a special guest... uh... Logan Paul. Yes, Logan Paul. Paul and Zayn have been tweeting at each other. For real. My goodness. Owens finally cornered Zayn and asked the question, Zayn said yes, and they brawled. Okay we saw that this was coming last week when Sami attacked KO in quite brutal head kicking fashion. I am not excited for next week’s Logan Paul appearance. Yes he is a walking pro wrestling promo. Yes he is charismatic. Yes I still do not like him. He isn’t necessary for this. Bad Bunny on Raw is the perfect celebrity crossover. Logan Paul ain’t it, chief. Zayn Vs Owens is always welcome anytime tho  The Rest Seth Rollins defeated Shinsuke Nakamura The Fastlane rematch! The showed the replay of Cesaro’s swing (22 times! Made me dizzy just watching.) and the match began. Rollins hit Nakamura with elbows to the back of the head, but Nakamura bounced off the turnbuckles with a drop kick. Nakamura did a sliding knee and sliding German suplex we’ve come to love Nakamura for lately. Rollins ducked another knee and gave Nakamura his own, then a Falcon Arrow for a two count. Nakamura went for the Kinshasa but Rollins countered with a forearm shot to the jaw. Rollins hit the curb stomp and got the win. This was pretty standard going from both men, but they have good ring chemistry so it’s always a good time. He tried to do another curb stomp, and Cesaro returned to save his former tag partner. What air Rollins got for the uppercut! Rollins slid out of Cesaro’s arms ands avoided another 22 swings. In the back Rollins was screaming and saying he’s sick of the disrespect from Cesaro. He made a challenge for the big show and said he’ll never get swung again. Yeah, right. He immediately got swung again and accepted the challenge this match would bang.Apollo Crews and Alpha Academy defeated Big E and Street Profits This was a little annoying. One of those standard WWE tropes where multiple storylines get thrown into a 6 or 8 man tag. And the other very annoying trope of pinning champions in multi people matches that don’t have other champions. Gahhh. To their credit, E and Crews were kind of focusing more on each other, but none of these people should really care about the other’s feuds. Nonetheless, Gable caught Ford over the ropes into a Northern Lights suplex that looked great. E went for the Big Ending, but Gable grabbed his arm and countered. Alpha Academy double teamed Dawkins and Ford and Crews tagged in to Angle slam Big E and win. Yeah the match was fine, just annoyed by these stupid tropes.[img]https://c./hxwMmyhiCoQAAAAM/rko-stupid.gif[/img] Rey Mysterio defeated Dolph Ziggler Mysterio jockeyed for control with Ziggler in the first minutes. They both countered each other and Ziggler powerbombed him over the barricade. When Dominik went to check on Dad, he got superkicked. What a Dirty Dawg. Mysterio struggled on the top rope but was able to do the senton, but Ziggler superkicked Rey for a two count. Fameasser got him another two count. Mysterio went for the 619 and Roode jumped in front of him. Rey was about to leap over the ropes to Roode, and Ziggler did the Zig Zag for a near fall! That was a cool spot. After a successful 619, Rey got the win. That was great and I didn’t think I would enjoy having these two wrestle soo much 2 Likes 1 Share |
