We all know getting a job in this country is another hell graduates is going through till date, talk more of getting a dream job.

I will try to be brief as much as I can.

Haven applied for so many jobs and attended some interviews, I finally saw one graduate trainee job (my kind of dream job tho) as at January this year. Although is a banking job which is actually my dream job. I wrote their aptitude test which I passed. We were eight that was invited for their interview out of over 70 candidates that applied and I was lucky to be part of those eight. To the glory of God I scape through at the first stage of the interview. At the Final stage of the interview (One on one interview) was where my righteousness or should I call it "Being Truthful" deprive me of my dream job. You may ask how did I know, but the truth is, that is what deprived me of getting the job. I don't want to explain further on that just to cut the story short.

The question they ask me that lead to my disqualification was: "Do you know anyone in this bank?" And my reply was "Yes". And truly I know someone working there but he wasn't even the one that ask me to apply. I only came across the job and I applied. But I never knew I'm suppose to say NO, I also never knew the answer will snatched the job away from me.

After all the sacrifices, sleepless nights on night journey from one town to another, After almost getting an accident on these our bad road, not to talk of the time and resources I have invested in getting this job. look at my life?
See where my righteousness has brought me into?

Just yesterday some of my colleagues got invitation for their medicals. And since that yesterday I have been so deeply down. I feel depressed. I feel like just giving up. Why me? What is really wrong somewhere that I don't know?Just imaging the kind of opportunity I have missed even when I know age is no longer on my side when it comes to this kind of job...

Honestly I'm tired. I feel like not going to church today. I am confused and feel like it's over. cry

Telling the truth is always the best policy brother. And I will advise that you continue to do so; for it will save you from many unknown evils in the coming years of your life.

Lastly, I will also advise you go to church today. Standing in God's presence and crying out to Him after such will certainly bring a sense of hope and a better tomorrow .

Peace

But who told you that that's why you were not called?
So you think the company assumes that the people in their company don't have friends or relatives? Or that their workers are all living in a bubble?

Abeg that's not why you were disqualified o jare

Title should be: How being righteous made me lose a job.

Secondly, does answering yes to an interview question make you righteous?

Who even told you that you're righteous? I do avoid candidates with this irritating mindset, and the hiring manager did well to deny you the offer.

Folks like you do more harm than good!!

You are yet to discover your problem. Keep wallowing on the delusion that you're righteous...

Silly!!!

Wisdom is profitable to direct!

The question was a test of your Diplomatic Skill but your Self -Righteousness mentality made you fail woefully. Everybody knows it takes somebody to get something.

Was it not in the bible that Abraham introduced his wife to Pharaoh as his half sister? Was it not in the Bible that Jesus told Peter not to tell people who he was?

You lack native intelligence. Your type always have problems with people, and the Bank cannot afford to lose her customers.

I wish you well!

Well, your story is not entirely complete!

From the best of my knowledge, knowing someone in a bank doesn't and will not disqualify from getting a job, the only exception to this rule is, if the person you know has the same surname with you(I.e., family related) and there are way's around this to get the job if you're qualified for it.

I've an uncle that's one of the top MDs in Sterling Bank and, he helped quite a few of our interested family members get a job even though it's same surname but different bank locations/states or branches.

Btw, in the western world, Referrals is highly encouraged in the workplace and most companies give salary bonuses to staffs that referred a right candidate for the position the company seeks.

If you had lied and still don't get the job, you'd still think God's the one punishing you for lying... That's what religion does to our mentality.

We were told the spiritual controls the physical,
I asked "so the spiritual knew Adam was going to eat the fruit?"
Then I was told we have free wills...
(funny)

The more I Iook the less I understand.

If you escape tragedy, It was the devil's attempt on your life and God rescued you..
If the tragedy is not in your favour, the said "It was God wills"
When they no longer benefit from you after you're gone and your absence start being felt with untold hardship... They still say "it was the devils" that succeeded in taking you away to bring hardship to family.

What really was man purpose?
Why is my religion the best and others are false?
What if I wasn't born a Christian, would I still believe what I believe?
What if I wasn't born a Muslim, would I still believe what I believe?
What was the purpose of us being here?
Are we really going to heaven?
Why were we not created in heaven if truely we were wanted there like the angels?

Each question answers will give birth to more questions...
The more we look, the less we understand.

I'm On the path to be a solipsist

What of the righteous who lost their lives for being righteous?

You have not resisted unto blood striving against sin.

Many of us have so called "lost" what carnal people will call opportunities and we didn't regret.

Stop complaining.

Only God knows if you are truly righteous sef.

That should not stop you from being Righteous.

Let the one who is doing harm continue to do harm,

let the one who is vile continue to be vile,

let the one who is righteous continue to live righteously,

let the one who is holy continue to be holy.

Our reward is not only in heaven,

God will never disappoint his people on earth also.

We Rise!

My dear... God will never give you what's not yours. Just take it that the job is not for you, look on the bright side, there's hope at the end of the tunnel. We face temptations like this everyday and most of us fail to do the right thing. God will never abandon you for doing what is right. Remain steadfast and keep believing.
