Attempting suicide why?

Bitcoin has quintupled in price since September and more than doubled in price since January. Even if he bought at the highest price this year, his losses would not exceed 4%.

If he truly bought bitcoin, then he is likely to have between 2-5 billion worth of it right now.

Law and business are not the same

The first charge will be, diversion of public fund to personal... Start running your mind around that
He might probably be charged for fraud among other criminal charges depending on the procedure in place

The only grace he has is in the fact that, CBN is already working in line with the advice of the VP which may probably make them to reverse the decision of confisticating all the Bitcoin accounts in Nigeria, if not, he will be indicted and convicted accordingly.

Let's stop giving the people that are killing our economic lives morale to do more, he is a criminal even if he repays the money instantly....

May be I should have used the word 'banned' instead of confisticated... I apologise for that Mr. Crypto.

How far about the other points; the criminality and the prosecution, are they valid?

ASUP denies allegation against Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti
The Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has vehemently denied that it ever made any allegation purporting that the Rector, Dr. Dayo Oladebeye invested One billion naira staff salary in Bitcoin.

The ASUP rebuttal of the allegation which had gone viral on social media platforms, came at the wake of peace meeting brokered by the paramount ruler of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe, Aladesanmi 111 and members of the Ewi-in- Council with the Management of the Polytechnic and the local ASUP Executive.

The Union, in a letter addressed to the Rector titled, "RE: ONE (1) BILLION NAIRA BITCOIN INVESTMENT ALLEGATION", totally dissociated itself from the allegation, after a two-day meeting held at the palace of the Ewi of Ado Ekiti on Monday, 8th and Tuesday, 9th March, 2021 and signed by it's Chairman, Comrade (Dr) O. D. Olasehinde.

ASUP in its letter, noted that the Union resolves to state as follows:
"The Union (ASUP) has no information about the allegation of the One billion naira Bitcoin investment, neither does it have any input in same" and therefore declared "to the whole world that the allegation did not emanate from them".
The Union emphatically said "that it was embarrassed by its linkage with the said allegation"

Recanting on the allegation against the Rector, which had gone viral for over a week, "the Union hereby dissociates itself from the allegation"

In a related development through another letter similarly conveyed to the Rector, the Union has regretted its action of locking up the gate of the institution on Tuesday 2nd March 2021, an action which disrupted the continuation of the second semester examination that had earlier commenced on Monday, 1st of March, 2021.

The ASUP, in the second letter titled RE: INDUSTRIAL FACE-OFF AT THE FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC ADO-EKITI, and also signed by it's Chairman, Dr Olabisi Olasehinde, noted that " the action is regretted with all sincerity".

Meanwhile, following the resolution of the one week industrial face-off at the intervention of the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti and his Council of Chiefs, ASUP has directed all it's members to resume at their duty post effective from the morning of Wednesday, 10th March, 2021.

Rector Flees After Investing #1billion Meant For Lecturers Salaries In Bitcoin

The rector of Federal polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti is currently on the run after investing about N1 Billion meant to pay salaries of lecturers into Bitcoin.

The lecturers have reportedly began strike action by closing down the gate of the school in protest of N1 Billion salaries arrears owed by the rector.

Students have also shown displeasure over the rector’s action, as the federal government is being called upon to intervene.
Are you currently a student of the school?
