In agriculture, Tares and wheats look alike, most people will nit know the difference. Likewise,in the church, those who claim they are believers( tares) will mix with the real believers( wheat).

The servants represent the angels.

The master is jesus.

At the end of world as Christian believes, jesus christ will seperate the pretenders from the true Christian through his angels.

Lesson.

1. Both evil and good people will be in the church or in the society, that is the reality of life.

2. Good and evil will grow alongside in society or in the church but Be watchful and also stand your ground against evil.

3. Good will eventually win against evil.
very insightful, thanks for contributing

This should be a good example for Nigeria as a whole, not the church. Criminals are running the affairs of law-abiding citizens. It is simple, get rid of the weed from the harvest, and that could be done through a clean and fair election.

Shun bags rice and salt from the thieving politicians and vote for those that have track records of living up to their responsibilities.

JourneytoEL:
Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed wheat in his field. 25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away. 26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.

27 “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the tares come from?’

28 “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.

“The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’

29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the tares, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the tares and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’”

The parable of wheat and tares is quite interesting.

Of course you won't appreciate it until you understand the parable of the seed sower which precedes it.

In summary, the Seed sower is God.
Of course the seed being planted is Christ.
The process of seed sowing being discipleship- following Christ in word and spirit.

Then the different soils are representative of the different states of the human heart receiving the word and being discipled.

While the other hearts can't sustain the seed well, it takes the Good seed falling on a good soil to be able to bear much fruits (wheat).
The wheat being the Christian.

A good soil by the way is one without hardness, without distractions, without cares of the world, etc.

That is the prologue to the parable of the wheat and tares.

Now the wheat that was produced is now a part of the world where the enemy has sown tares.

Technically according to the parable of the seed sower, we can see that only the good heart without hardness, without distractions, without cares of the world can survive the tares.

Would it have been better if like the laborers (angels) suggested, to uproot the tares so that more wheats can survive?

No be me talk that kin bullsheet abeg!

When you compare the life of unbelievers to the lives of many who claim to belong to Christ, you cannot help but conclude that they would have been better off not believing at all. undecided
Imagine someone who claims to believe in Jesus Christ living in complete fear of the night/dark, stating that evil then, even going to the extent of advising folks not to even sleep at night. Does that not sound like a tortured mind of sorts? undecided
How can such a one claim to have any part in the peace of Jesus Christ when He can't even get a good nights sleep? undecided

When Jesus Christ said you would watch, He did not literally mean you should not sleep at night or be afraid that the enemy will come to you while you are literally sleeping. undecided
Those who are still in the world sleep peacefully through the night and wake up to God's mercy and compassion every day. Why then is it that those of you who pretend you belong to God live in fear of being attacked when you sleep? Think! undecided

Please stop living a tortured existence, pretending you do so for God's sake. undecided

THIS PARABLE HELPS US TO KNOW THE ORIGINAL SIN THAT WAS COMITTED IN EDEN. WAS IT FRUIT THAT THEY ATE OR WAS IT SOMETHING THAT HAD TO DO WITH REPRODUCTION THAT ALLOW SATAN TO SOW HIS SEEDS (TARES) AMONG THE WHEATS (GOD'S CHILDREN) ? THE PARABLE IS BEYOND UNBELIEVERS AND BELIEVERS IN THE CHURCH AS IT IS THE ONLY PARABLE IN NEW TESTAMENT THAT HELPS US TO KNOW HOW DEVIL WHO COULDNT CREATE WAS ABLE THROUGH EVE SOW HIS SEEDS INTO HUMANITY BY CO-MINGLING WITH EVE. SEEDS IN THE BIBLE REPRESENTS PROSTERITY AND AFTER EVE ATE THAT FORBIDDEN FRUIT, GOD PLACED ENEMITY B/W HIS SEED AND THE SEED OF THE WOMAN. SINCE SEED SYMBOLISE CHILDREN, WHAT WE DO TODAY TO HAVE CHILDREN WAS WHAT EVE ATE WITH SATAN AND SATAN THROUGH EVE GOT CAIN AS A SEED. It is the exactly the ignorant soul that takes to mean be afraid of the dark and your shadow.

The one you you watch lives inside of you that is where temptation to sin comes from. Did you miss that lecture that Jesus Christ on how the evil that you do comes from deep within them? undecided

That you are not promised an easy ride is no reason for you to create unnecessary suffering and torment for yourslf pretending that you do it for God's sake. undecided

In this parable, like many others, you are not told that sleeping was a fault or mistake on the part of those who slept. Matter of fact, if you consider other parable examples (eg. Parable of 10 virgins), "sleeping" is used to mean they died in this world but are instead are sleeping in their graves, waiting to be resurrected when Jesus Christ finally returns. undecided

Jesus Christ never commanded His followers to create undue suffering for His glory. No, problems will come at you without you even moving a finger, and rather than panic, depriving yourself of sleep by worrying unnecessarily, He instead says you should rest in Him, trusting that He will guide you through it all -all you have to do is continue to Trust and Obey Him in all-wise. He abides with and in those who submit to Him and obey His commandments.

Read and digest what exactly?

In many of the parables told by Jesus Christ "Sleeping" implies the servants died and so were in their graves waiting to be raised in the last day.
