Of late, one of the reoccurring words we have been hearing is "southern unity" which should mean that the people in southern Nigeria should unite and see themselves as one. Let's be honest with ourselves, southern unity is as possible as national unity! Reason is that Nigerians don't identify themselves with geographical boundaries. They do so based on culture.
In the north that seem united, there is a group called christians who never align themselves with the north. They dominate Taraba plateau and nassarawa state. Difference in belief is the key here.
The reason why the concept of middle belt doesn't fly is because there is no uniformity in culture. The people from the hausa speaking states see themselves as northerners (either christians or Muslims). Those from the non hausa speaking states (Benue and kogi) see themselves as people in the middle. Tiv man doesn't see the birom man as his brother. Neither does the igala man feel so about ebiras. Idomas and igalas have a relationship because of the similarly in cultures. My point is, culture defines us in Nigeria, not geographical or political boundaries.
Coming to the main issue here, the south is not a tribe, there just happen to be various tribe settling in the lower half of the country. Does the Yoruba man see the Igbo man as his brother? He rather picks the Yoruba man from Republic of Benin. Any tribe can choose to be allies with whatever tribe they wanna, it doesn't matter where they are situated.
We know some people in the south hate hausas more than anything and wish above all things to burn down the north, southern unity for these people means joining hands to hate northerners. Not for anything meaningful. Tell them to support a Yoruba man for president and watch them sing a different song.
Preaching southern unity is same as preaching one Nigeria with exclusion of one half of the country. We should understand our differences and try to work together for the benefit of all.

Nothing like Southern unity, it won't work because some people are yet to emerge from their 16th century mentality. They are intolerant, wicked, hateful and they have no manners or respect for other people culture. Till they fix that there is no southern unity.

Although not all of them are like that, there are genuine ones that come off as enlightened, kind with manners and good aura. These are the ones I have met but they are mainly in South West.

Shut up. it is people like you that causes disunity in the south. you betrays your brother to almajiris in the north. I'm suspecting that you might be a Fulani parading as a Yoruba man. we the Yorubas knows who is who. even the demented Neddstark is also guilty of this

There's nothing like Southern Nigeria. You separatists want the Southwest to join your battles to achieve your drug trafficking republic. As much as we are careful with the Northerners, we are more wary of the most dubious people in Africa.

We the Yoruba? grin Southern Unity can't work because Yorubas share no similarities with Igbos and other tribes in the south. This is tip of everything I want to say but manage this.

The only solution to Nigeria now is disintegration, not 2023 election.

If a problem is too big, approach it in piece, let’s cut nigeria into pieces then when each group is able to resolve their problem they can chose to collaborate.

The people desperate to keep Nigeria together are not doing so in the interest of the black race. Their black counterparts are only working for their own selfish interests

cool
We southerners are not as United as our northern folks. If we are then the country will not continue recycling northerners as president. Not as if they play politics better, We aren't just united enough. An average southerner is in a cold competition with his neighbour. Even siblings.

it’s not for an individual to decide, let ask the citizens what they want. It’s the most feasible solution with focus on progress and prosperity

Let each region conduct an election to stay or leave Nigeria

The citizens have different opinions and apart from that, the political leaders in each region always have a way of passing their agenda to their people. So still it's a political decision which should be termed individual

Because the people allow theirselves to be deceived by the politicians let’s Unify our thoughts on disintegration of this country and you’ll see how irrelevant the politicians are.

For Nigeria to progress we must first divide the country into regions, different groups who speaks the same language can discuss how they want to achieve progress and prosperity

And that is what will happen
I rep south Nigeria! We do away with the north! South Nigeria! United autonomous states of southern Nigeria! jieta: How would the South be United when we have so many minority group. That's the point bro The many minority groups can't be alone as a countries So the region they find themselves in would cater If Nigeria divides into 3 we'll be more vulnerable And we will keep dividing if we don't find a common ground to unite Can Nigeria divide into 250 as represented by the ethnic groups? No We should divide into 2 instead And the south would have 3 autonomous regions No marginalization whatsoever The presidency and top offices would be rotated between the regions And the regions would in turn rotate between the ethnic groups We can't keep slaving away for the north! The north planted the seed of discord in the south for a reason!

I don’t think thats the case in our situation, it has been a matter of life and death. Too many casualties. The only wholistic approach to this matter after a complete root cause analysis, is disintegration otherwise known as return to regional government.

We will divide this country first and those who likes to work together can renegotiate

The disintegration of Nigeria is also not something so easy to do... Apart from Nigeria owners won't allow that to happen, the world leaders won't also be in support cos they gain alot from this contraption.

Let each state from each region work together first and then turn their region to eldorado before considering of seceding

To the bolded..That will be a litmus test to know if we can even develop our individual states before clamoring for our own regions or country, without allowing our fingers in the cookie jar again. Corruption is rooted in our DNA and it will take the grace for God for us to over come that.

Ile ni a ti n ko eso rode.. Charity begins from home.. it's time for SW governor's to work together irrespective of their party affiliation.

Infact, Yoruba's should even be more concerned about electing credible people regional in 2023... Presidency is a plus

Now you see,if we can't work together regionally , what would secession achieve when the problems that we are running away from are still there

Election may just turn to war in 2023 instead of civil war why don’t we look the way of peace which is disintegration and a return to regional government. Nigeria has never been conducting elections. All credible people we’ve try to elect has either been killed or cheated because of “one nigeria” that’s why Nigeria must come to an end! Do not be deceived very difficult days are here I’ll only advise everyone to be prepare because the worse is yet to come and the only thing to prepare for is the war if nigeria refuse scrap the 1999 constitution which only exclude all nigerians and include the president 1 individual as supreme.

Let the election happened first and let's see the outcome..

Whether Yoruba wins the presidency or not,it changes nothing in 2023.. That's why we need to focus on electing credible regionally

Majority of Yoruba are not even interested in presidency. We are more interested in survival of our people. We have come to the conclusion that if we don’t do something right now our race will be on its way into extinction. We must preserve our culture and protect our people and it’s now. The nigerian states has failed us in these areas.
