2 Days Ago Damaturu was attacked,
Yesterday Biu was attacked.

This towns are no where close to the lake, then how did they get into this towns if their operational base is in the fringe of Lake Chad. I stand with my Governor, some territory are still under them. The N.A needs to be truthful at times.

There is no conspiracy going on from the Nigerian quarters. There is a steady offensive sweep going on but a slow one due to the dangerous terrain the boys need to traverse. The terrorists have made the entire Sambisa very unpredictable due to the presence of a lot of mines. However clearance is a daily occurrence.

The only issue is that the soldiers from the Chadian end are not as aggressive in approach as the NIA and we do not understand why.

There is a conspiracy on the Nigerian quarter, either the elites or top military personnel.
By the way, your other opinions are sound.

NYSC Diary Day 4: Camp, The Place Lectures Come Alive

First of all, thank you all for the kind words of encouragement. Updates will flow everyday unti day 21!

5:40 AM
It is Friday, and now, all our activities have started to become routine. Wake up, make a dash to the tap for water, go to the bathroom, dress up, head to the parade ground for devotion and morning drills. But now there is more, and it’s because we have been sworn in.

Now, Nigeria has her own sleeping and waking hours, our dear country whose citizens work tirelessly. We are told that every day, whenever the bugle goes off at 6:00am, we are to stand still. When the same repeats itself at 6:00pm, we are to stop and stand still. I want to ask, “But what if I’m in the middle of dying?”(I will not die in Jesus name *eyeroll*) Orisirisi has started to happen in camp, but I don’t even know it yet.

8:00 AM
One of the orisirisi that is happening is the fact that we have now been left to ourselves. Not in a completely independent way though, we have soldiers who act as our platoon leaders. I am in Platoon two, and you won’t believe all the drama my eyes have seen.

But wait first, let me tell you about one orisirisi: lectures. Yes, being bonafide members means that we will be “killed”with lectures. The first one is something on security and protection of lives and property, how to safeguard yourself from attack, how to help corps members develop adequate sense of secur inity. It is an interesting lecture, if I will be honest, but I really just want to sleep.

We head to the parade ground for the drills. Now that we do things according to platoons, it is a little more informal, not the kuku kill me drills that will have you questioning if you’re receiving punishments for sins your ancestors committed.

Being left alone means that everything is now a competition. Everything. And every eye is on the lookout for the platoon that will emerge as the best. You know Nigerians na, everyone is now attempting to outdo themselves.

A brief gist about my own platoon: a guy was voted in as the head. A lady wanted it first; she is the one who has been in charge of everything platoon related including creating a WhatsApp group, handing out kits to people, etc. Long and short of it, a lot of us already saw her as platoon head.

Only for soldier to say that we’d have to select/vote in our leader. When lady came out, soldier said no, that a lady cannot be the head. Because why? Because she is a lady, and ladies are the ones who faint the most since they cannot handle the pressure and heat of the sun.

My people, na so kasala burst o.

Okay, maybe not exactly sha, but we dragged it for long. Asked soldier if there was a rule stating that a lady cannot be head and must be assistant alone. Soldier said no. Then why can’t we vote her in? No cogent reason. When it was time to vote, our lady had four votes. The guy had over twenty five.

Only ladies faint, only ladies faint, but today during evening drill, about five guys fainted. A number of these guys faked it, but doesn’t that tell you something?

Breakfast was bread and tea (as usual) and a boiled egg. I keep my egg for lunch, and pay N50 to have an egg fried. I add Milo and Peak powder milk to my tea, and each time I sip it, I remember that it is only one life I have and that I must chop it properly. Na Borno dem post me to, no be kill I kill person.

12:45 PM
Another lecture. This is how we don enter am. We gather at the parade ground, under the pavilion. It is hot, cramped. This lecture is one we are delighted to hear. It is about how to redeploy. Just imagine the joy that erupted from us when the man began to speak. In a way, I feel for those officials. I imagine them thinking, “Look at these ingrates. We feed you, accommodate you, and this is how you repay us? Corpses are scum!” But duh. It will take only God to keep some people from not relocating out of this place.

I've gotten a column to share my story on https://www.zikoko.com. Read the rest of the entry: https://www.zikoko.com/life/nysc-diary-day-4-camp-the-place-lectures-come-alive/

NOTE THAT I WILL STILL SHARE UPDATES HERE DAILY

Hello!
I have made lots of research, contacted many awardees and have a compilation of study materials for dragnet exam.

I don't call them past questions because after the transition to CBT. Actual past questions are no longer accessible
It's study materials for Agbami
Dragnet exams are usually in 3
Numerical, verbal and abstract reasoning
But Agbami, Chevron(now handled by ORM) use only 2(numerical and verbal)
But Agip uses the 3 (numerical, verbal and abstract)

TO MAKE THINGS EASIER. COMMENT ON THIS THREAD YOUR EMAIL >>>

The problem with most Nigerians is their passive attitude towards national issues. This national ID card registration has been going on since 2013 as far as I can remember, but you felt it's useless.

Now that you need it for identification and movement around your cursed North East, you suddenly saw the need to enroll for it.

Tell me, why won't those people treat you guys with disdain when they know you urgently need it?

I'm dead sure that if you had enrol for this ID card earlier or before the announcement by the Nigerian army, you wouldn't have experienced this nonsense.

Sounds you right

No sympathy for you whatsoever.

Next time, do things at the right time.

Ask yourself, since 2009, the Northeast has been under insurgency, everyone was afraid of going anywhere that is likely to be crowdy, that's why they even opened centers in Educational Institutions. Just don't comment with evaluating situations. Peace Out.

Sorry about your experience. There is an NiMC center inside UMTH, it's behind the mortuary. Maybe you will have better luck there.

My residence is far from UMTH, it will take me two drops, I can't make it that early to the Center.

Nairaland / General / My Experience At NIMC Enrollment Centre, Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri. by ProudBornoBoy(m): 10:22am On Oct 04, 2019
With the launching of Operation Positive Identification, it became eminent for lots of citizens residing in the Northeast in general and Maiduguri in particular including myself to apply for National Identity Card, I made a personal research on centers located in Maiduguri and found two, NIMC Headquarters located close to Maiduguri International Airport and a branch located inside Ramat Polytechnic.

Lucky for me, my house was less than a kilometer from RamPoly. On Monday 30th September I went to the NIMC Center around 7:30AM, met some people already there also, I wrote my name on the list, I was number 63.

The NIMC staffs came around 8:30AM, collected the list and proceeded to begin the days job, surprisingly instead of calling the names on the list, they started calling people the Rector sent, those HOD's sent, those senior staffs sent, I shook my head and in my mind I said Nigeria way, "wetin man go do brother".

We waited there and I heard others of being at the Center as early as 5AM, others slept outside the center just to make sure their names where first on the list, I spent the whole day there and I couldn't register.

The next day being a public holiday, I didn't bother going there. On Wednesday, I woke up early as usual, skipped my morning exercises and chores and went straight to the center as early as 6AM, I was number 20 on the list, yeah I still met people there even as early as that, the staff came around the usual past 8, collected the list as usual but still didn't use it.

They neglected us and where just attending to their own people who came later own, I stayed till 2pm when better hunger start to dey wire me, I left unable to register.

The next day was the same, skipped breakfast, chores and exercises, went early but still we were not attended to, It was frustrating, the staffs said their machines developed fault, there was no paper to even print but still yet they attended to those who came with exotic cars and knew people above, as usual na the Naija way.

This morning I still went there, it was important I get the National Identity Card due to situations on ground, you couldn't travel without it, you will be profiled as a terrorist, today they said only students will be attended to, luckily I came with my school I.D, I joined the queue and when it came to my turn, I was turned back, they said only students of Ramat Polytechnic will be attended to, and unfortunately I was schooling at UniMaid,
I pleaded to be considered but still yet I was turned back, I waited to see if I might be favored to register but when I checked time, I couldn't wait any longer, today is Friday and I had to prepare for Juma'at prayer, I plugged in my headphone, played Erigga's latest song featuring M.I Abaga and Sami named Erigma and decided to post this while walking home.

I will still go back on Monday, But this is what lots of people pass through just to get their National Identity Card, The authorities should please increase the Registration Centers In The Northeast.
