N'Golo Kante has won the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year award for 2016-17.
The Chelsea midfielder, 26, beat Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexis Sanchez in the vote by his fellow players.
Tottenham's Dele Alli won the young player prize for the second successive year. Manchester City's Lucy Bronze won the Women's Player of the Year award.
Birmingham's Jess Carter was named Women's Young Player of the Year.
Former England captain David Beckham
received the PFA's Merit award for his contribution to the game during the ceremony at the Grosvenor Hotel in London on Sunday.

His total of 110 tackles in the Premier League this season is second only to Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye (127), while his figure of 72 interceptions is eclipsed only by Ander Herrera of Manchester United.
Watford captain Troy Deeney recently spoke about what it is like to play against Kante - an insight that perhaps explains why his peers voted him the best of their number.
"Whenever we broke on them last season, I always had the fear factor that Kante was coming back and I knew we didn't have much time before he got there," Deeney said.
"Even if I actually did have time, I always thought he might be there, so I would rush things a bit."

England full-back Bronze, 25, won the PFA Women's Player of the Year award for the second time after being part of the Manchester City squad that won the Women's Super League without losing a single game in 2016.
Birmingham midfielder Carter, 19, saw off competition from three Manchester City players to win the Women's Young Player of the Year award.
She started every game in the WSL in 2016 and completed 90 minutes in all but the season-opener at Sunderland.
Recognition for Beckham
Former Manchester United midfielder Beckham was honoured by his peers in recognition of his stellar career at club and international level.
Beckham, 41, won 115 England caps - captaining his country on 59 occasions - and played for some of the most famous clubs sides in the world.
He scored 85 goals during his time at United, where he also won six Premier League titles and the Champions League. He also won Spain's La Liga during a four seasons at Real Madrid.

Prosecutors in the northern Nigeria state of Kaduna have charged a group of 53 people with conspiring to celebrate a gay wedding.
The accused, arrested last Saturday, have denied the allegations, with their lawyers saying they were illegally detained.
The court released the group on bail and the case was remanded to 8 May.
Homosexual acts are banned in socially conservative Nigeria and are punishable by up to 14 years in jail.

During a court appearance in Chediya-Zaria, the group pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy, unlawful assembly and belonging to an unlawful society.
Defence lawyer Yunusa Umar said most of the accused were students and had been illegally detained for more than 24 hours, the local Premium Times newspaper reported.
Gay rights campaigners who have been in touch with people involved in the case told the BBC's Stephanie Hegarty in Lagos the accused were arrested at a birthday party, not a wedding.
Nigeria has an influential Christian evangelical movement in the south and strong support for Islamic law in the north, both of which oppose homosexuality.
In January 2014, the Hisbah, or Islamic police, in Bauchi state raided several locations and arrested about a dozen men accused of sodomy acts.
Some of the men later appeared before a Sharia court for a bail hearing and an angry crowd gathered outside, demanding swift and severe punishment.
Stones were thrown at the court and the hearing was halted.
Police had to shoot in the air to disperse the mob and get the suspects back to prison safely, though there they are also vulnerable.
The ban on homosexuality, brought into effect in 2014, is used by some police officers and members of the public to legitimise abuses against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people, according to Human Rights Watch (HRW).
"Extortion, mob violence, arbitrary arrest, torture in detention, and physical and sexual violence" are common against people suspected of homosexual activities, HRW said in a 2016 report.

BREAKING NEWS: ASUU strike: Union calls off action
The Academic Staff Union of Universities on Tuesday announced that it had ended its one week nationwide warning strike over the non-implementation of a 2009 agreement with the Federal Government.
The President of ASUU, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, told newsmen in Abuja, that lecturers should immediately return to work.
“We are making progress, especially with the intervention of the Senate. In the next one or two meetings, if we are able to get a clear path to the matter, we will avoid elongation of the strike action,” Punch quoted him as saying.
“I have been receiving these reports that ASUU says strike continues. No. The strike ends today (Tuesday). All lecturers are to go back to work Wednesday morning.”
Ogunyemi said ASUU was hopeful of a positive outcome, going by the response coming from the Federal Government.
