@Yokus, the wrong usage of severally hasn't diminished oh.. Any cane?

Please enlighten me, is severally not a valid word? I have seen it used in many scientific journals. I'd be interested to know. Thanks

@Santino1

Can you share your thoughts on the question below

I need your advice on NOC.
- Can I choose NOC 1(IT Related) experience as my overall NOC, considering it was almost 8yrs ago?
- Does the period the experience was gathered a factor? Is most recent experience considered more?
- My experience spans about 3 NOCs. I left out others because they would did not contribute to CRS.

Please see case study below:

Work Experience:
NOC 1 (IT Related JOB)
Nov.2006 - Mar.2009
approx. 2.5yrs experience

NOC 2 (Coporate Sales JOB)- Most Recent
Sept.2015 - Aug.2017
approx. 2yrs experience

Thanks

- If it's gonna earn you the maximum point, then yes.
- No.
- If they won't earn you extra points, then don't include them because if you include them in work history you'll be obligated to provide references for them.

Based on scenario you provided, I guess you are good to go.

@Hamiltondreamer

Thanks. Please can you expatiate, someone said its possible as long as your CRS score stays above the draw cutoff after updates.

I might be wrong but from what I understand from A11.2, you can definitely add family members post ITA provided you satisfy the following conditions:

Your CRS doesn't drop below the draw's lowest.

Your POF is sufficient for the added member.

Sorry I can't post the link here as I have been banned severally for doing so (just came out of a ban 30 minutes ago) but you can easily find it online.

Again, this is based on my interpretation of section A11.2 and R4(1)

On Nov 1, my status changed from application in progress (ip1) to we are processing your background check(ip2). Then yesterday it changed to Not applicable. What does this mean.

Its kind of weird to me because people normally go from ip2 to ppr and I have no idea why mine didn't go that route. Was expecting to get PPR today but its already end of the day and nothing showed up. Any thoughts?

It simply means you are on NA3. Not so many people get to see this stage as they usually don't check their profile between IP2 and PPR. You should expect your PPR in a matter of days.

I had a post about this on page 365 but it was hidden by the antispam bot.

I disagree. They wouldn't use rejection/refusal to reduce numbers. They could simply just increase the CRS score by limiting number of ITA.

I'm considering the fact that over 77000 ITAs have issued already. That's more than 100% increase from 2016 and 2015.

I envisaged it too that the CRS will increase. Based on my calculation, on the total number of CRS issued since January this year - till date, the maximum quota allocated for EE has been exhausted (based on total monthly selection).

In my opinion, the CRS score between now till the end of the year may be high. Although, there is good chances this score will drop drastically by next year.

I think you are right. The ITA for 2017 alone (77773) has surpassed 2016 (34000) and 2015 (31000) combined and we are still in November. I don't know how much they planned on admitting in 2017 but that 2-fold increase is big.

I'll advice everyone yet to submit to really really tidy up their applications as rejection/refusal will be their mode of cutting down the numbers. Just don't give them a reason for refusal. Dang, I'm beginning to sound like @Boss13.

I am not understanding this new rule at all... I hope that 2000/2000th ranking is not cast in stone. If it is, that might (would likely) be a high CRS deciding factor.

God de.

It means in this draw only 2000 people were invited and the 2000th person has a score of 458. In order words, If 3000 people were invited instead of 2000, the lowest score might have been something like 430 ish. It's similar to the percentile calculations in statistics.

Now this is becoming repulsively annoying.

Please let's learn to read at least page 0 of this thread and stop continuous repetition of questions that had been answered previously.

I have been a silent reader of this thread, submitted my profile few weeks ago and I never asked any generic question here because all the information I needed from IELTS to ECA, etc, I got, not by asking questions, but by taking time to go through the first 10 pages.

Taking some time to go through the relevant pages is just a tip of the iceberg compared to the tedious journey ahead. If we can't do that, I wonder how we'll have the tenacity to go through the real deal.

Faskey:
You are definitely correct, this tread is getting annoyingly long too fast. You see everyone asking same questions over and over again.

People need to learn to read, that's the only way one can be confident of his/her application. Asking random questions can even lead to mistakes because people tend to answer based on what they feel eventhough the instructions are boldly written on cic website.

A read on page 0 to 3 of this tread is even enough to give good direction to this express entry journey.

Nah. Why should we read page 0-3 of something useful like this thread when we can use the precious MB to check out Daniella Okeke's recent stunning pictures.

Hi...Is it possible to carry out medicals before ITA? I am planning to undergo medicals for Austrailia and I will need to travel to Lagos. i was thinking If I could carry out the medicals for Canada too in view of an ITA coming.

Although it is generally advised to delay your medicals as close to submission as possible, I would advice you go ahead and get an upfront medicals if you are pretty confident of securing an ITA in the next draw and plan to submit as soon as possible.

You can check the status of your application on eCAS. You'll see what has happened to your case since medical passed. Good luck.

@cochtrane kontagious hephgirl and co. Is it possible for us to keep track of hopefuls and their stage? So that by the end of this thread, we would have a record of success stories.
Does that make sense?

You can do that on immitracker. All you have to do is filter by country.

You are already on NA2 in less than three weeks, that is still remarkable. Going by current trend, you should receive your PPR before the end of next week.

There are two draws today

Provincial Nominee Program - 673

Federal Skilled Trades Program - 241

No Federal draw as of now

Implication is likely a very low CRS score for FSW. Going by what happened in May

I hope so for everyone's sake. Moreover, the lowest CRS under those two streams in May was 775 (PNP) and 400 (FST), thus CRS at the next draw may be even lower than the 413 seen in May.

UdomoLeinad:
Greetings peeps!

Two things please

1. this question goes to post-ITA applicants who only evaluated their Masters degree
When filling the EE profile, under educational history, I see the I can make entries of both my MSc and BSc, indicating that no ECA was done for the BSc.
I want to know though, is it necessary to enter the BSc? If I do, I hope down the line I won't be required to provide supporting docs asides certificate.

2. I concluded MSc in Dec 2011, worked from Jan 2012 till Sept 2013 on a job I'm not claiming points for. I intend to claim points for the job I began Oct 2013. I don't need to enter any information about the first job under work history since it doesn't count towards anything, or do I? I ask because I want to know whether the almost 2 year gap would be an issue down the line. I read sth on the previous thread about closing gaps for work history so one wouldn't get an ADR, or sth like that, can't recall vividly. so do gaps matter?

Experts and Semi-experts please answer.

Thank you!

1. Yes, you can enter your BSc and indicate that only MSc was assessed. In hierarchy, MSc > BSc and you'll get the point for MSc regardless of whether your BSc was evaluated.

2. Any job experience you are not gonna provide reference for shouldn't go in your work history. Post ITA, you can enter them in personal history.

Hope that answers your question.

How will the person prove that when he/she doesn't reside in Canada?

This is the lady's question:----"Can I claim points if my sibling has a Canadian PR but resides in America"?

If there is a physical address in Canada, no problem otherwise your point stands. I was just trying to clear up that the relative doesn't have to be physically present in Canada.

According to what is written on CIC's website, you can earn 15 additional points if you (or your spouse or common-law partner who will come with you to Canada) have a brother or sister who is: living in Canada and a citizen or permanent resident of Canada. Therefore, the answer to your question is No.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1318&top=29

Not necessarily. As long as you can prove he/she has residency in Canada (by means of a bank statement or utility bills with a Canadian address on it) he/she doesn't have to be physically present in Canada.
