Just your PPA is involved. Forget about NYSC totally in the application. And it is not a government position too. Pls take note for Post Its form.

Well, I listed NYSC (not PPA) in my personal history and not work history and so far so good. Just passed medicals last Friday.

Ok bro my two cents is that IELTS is not knowledge based. So nothing too technical and no need for logic.

Strategy for reading is copy and paste when asked to ,paraphrase and predict answers, and never try to read and understand the passage

Strategy for listening is to practice till you have high scores. I recommend simulating exam conditions by printing your practise sheet and using Bluetooth headphones (if you can). Practise as if you were in the exam hall. I have found laptops to be distracting and that's purely a personal experience.

Everything is spot on except the headphone part. I had the same expectation too that headphones would be provided but alas...

Na so one girl just dey cough anyhow during the listening section. It's like na she village people wan use catch me but fortunately I got my desired score.

My point is: Practice as much as you can in quiet places (without headphones if possible) and expect the unexpected.

As per remarking, there are some points you should note.

While Reading and Listening are very objective tests (you are either wrong or right, no in-between), Speaking and Writing are more subjective in the sense that a significant leverage is given to the examiners. Your score is based on 2 independent examiners' assessments and usually, whoever is gonna remark your test will come from the same line-up of examiners.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

OK boss...the fear of long lashing (I am saying this in a good way oo) from you and a select few made me read from the previous threads to this to get to the stage I am in presently...thanks cos it really pays to read and also do so far and wide.

Abeg o where @cochtrane and other guru data analysts, erm with the current IELTS and ECAs that just fell due, what's the like cutoff for the next draw of maybe October 18th, some of us would like to know so as to keep hope alive...missed the last one of 4th October with few points

I'm guessing it will still be in the 430 range. Look at the CRS composition of the last draw and you'd see why.

I have compressed using different online apps all to no avail. Document is still bigger than 4MB. Is there a particular application you want to recommend? Original size of document is about 17MB

Try pdfcompressor.com. You can get up to 95% compression.

Hello good people,

Please how can I upload about 22 pages of SOA to the placeholder. Have read on this thread that some people were able to upload up to 50 pages. Abeg help a brother. Is there a particular software used to compress the documents or some other means to get it done?

Thanks in advance..

Merge everything into a single pdf file. If size is too large, compress it with one of the numerous compression websites

Would it be any easier with a good and required job experience? I'm looking at applying Power Systems Engineering jobs in BC? I saw many Canadian jobs on LinkedIn and co with requirements that I already have and the rest I could get in the next 12months. I could expertise in programming a PLC using TwinCAT and Siemens. Adding to what I already have.

Isn't this gonna give me a leeway? What do you think please.

I don't see why not. People get jobs all over the world everyday without being physically present in that country.

I guess there's one way to find out, try. It never hurts to try. Good luck

Yea, you are right - the reason why I want to leave my present location is choice - just choice.

PNP is not easy but when you have what to offer - when you are convincingly good at what you do, it becomes easier. So I wanna see if I can get there. I think I've got what it takes to get there. And also, PNP doesn't require POF.

I got all these info from online sources.

My problem now is how to time right. Any help?

The problem with that is that most PNP at the moment are kinda tough (either you require a job offer or some previous ties to the province in question) except PEI and Nova Scotia (if your occupation is on the list of priority occupation).

@justwise @40manlappy @Santino1 @Kontagious @threadstone @all

Please does anyone know how long this program will last?

I just got employed in a good company - where I get professional experiences related to my field of study with good pay. And something tells me I should grow a bit in this company before relocating. But then again, I don't know how long this is gonna last.

Anyone help please.

If you follow closely the Canadian immigration, you'd see the Canadian government is actively pushing for more immigrants (e.g. cutting down the number of years for PR and citizenship, giving more points to applicants with siblings and so on). Thus, I believe EE is not going anywhere anytime soon. At least not in the foreseeable future.

I'd advise you to weigh your options carefully and decide what's best for you in the long term.

Now Hephgirl will yab the sh*t out of you for posing as OBO.

It's not a problem I suppose, and you don't really have to be present in Nigeria to have an account and those investment running in your name though. I recently had a Tbills initiated through email which was even sent to another branch than the account domiciled branch.

In effect, you do not have the 60k since the investments are not in your name and they can't be used. So, you've got to edit that figure to what you can present in your name.

I hope s/he doesn't get to see it. cheesy cheesy cheesy

I know, it's just easier to have my sister do those things. You now how Naija is, you have to be on ground to get the juiciest deals.

Awesome. Thanks for clearing the air on this. I was starting to think about liquidating those assets.

Munchas gracias senor.

Hephgirl, come ann another OBO ooo grin

To the matter at hand, you can use your investments (the ones you mentioned) as POF. However, post ITA, you can also edit the amount to your comfortable zone. In all, if you intend to stick to the 20K you have now, please edit the amount to reflect 20k.

LOL. Those figures are only for illustrative purposes cool cool cool

Thanks. So it's not problem if my pre and post ITA figures are different.

I forgot to mention that those investments are not in my name as I'm not physically present in Nigeria. So I really can't use them.

Hi all,

I have a question regarding POF:

Back when I was filling the EE profile, when asked how much I will be bringing to Canada I answered 60k (my actual balance at the time). The issue is now I have invested two-third of the money (Tbill, Eurobond etc) and the cash at hand currently is about 20k (still way more than required 13k). Can I use my current balance as POF? If yes, wouldn't this constitute a misrepresentation?

Thanks

Hi guys,
I calculated my csr to be 357. How can I improve it apart from a higher ielts score?
And what's the minimum to be selected from the pool?
Thanks.

Explore the provincial nomination programmes listed on the previous page. (small tip: Prince Edward Island requires you only to write why you want to live in PEI and no stringent conditions like the others)

There is no minimum per se. It depends on the dynamics of the CRS pool. However, the lowest score that has ever been issued an ITA was 413, so be advised.

Thank you all for all your contributions may God continue to bless you. Just a few questions please:
1. Can I get a pcc in Abuja?
2. If I have been in another country for 2years,do I present a pcc from that country?
Please note that my POF is from Nigeria and my work experience is from Nigeria.

Thank you.

1. As clearly stipulated on cic website, Alagbon is the central headquarter and PCC are only processed there. I haven't heard of anyone who got PCC anywhere else.

2. Yes. It is also stated on cic website.

And?

As soon as the IT guy at WES decides to update your status. I'm guessing it varies but mine took 2 days, if that helps.

Gurus in the house,is it advisable to change dollars to naira and buy treasury bill or not....
Please,I need advice.
Thank you

Everything depends on your appetite for risk and what the forex market is doing.
This has been discussed before. Here is my post from an earlier post: Check page 338 for awesomeJ and others' awesome contributions on that page.
Santino1:

Pretty simple. As a simple example:

Let's assume you got USD 30,000 as a loan. When you convert it at the current exchange rate of 360 you get 10.8 million naira. You now invest the 11 million in T-Bills at 18%. (0.18*10,800,000) this will give you 12.98 million upon maturity (including your initial capital). Now assume the exchange rate is 500 naira to a dollar at maturity (which was the lowest naira value a while back). Divide 12.74 by 500 and you get about USD 25,500 which means in effect you have lost over USD 4000 due to the fluctuating FX.

This of course a simplified explanation but you get the gist I hope.
