The fact that she is IJebu has nothing to do with character as that is individaul. If you don't want her tell and stop making a persons character into another tribal generalization.
Your cautiousness about her being only after your money proves that you don't like her or not interested in her because of personal reasons not your tribe. |

Kobojunkie: I don't think you understand what I posted at all. Please let us not make this a race debate and focus on the most important issues here. Regardless of how or whom took the lands, Mugabe still needed to follow the law in his bid to return the land to the people, not execute JAGUDA justice, which is what he did and infact is what we do around africa today. He is president for a reason and regardless of what sentiments or emotions were attached, he ought to have done it in such a way that his people not only got back what was theres but that he could stand up and say it was legally handled. It was not and hence the reason why it is the way it is today. Not interested in making it a race issue ( 'white farmers' is not makiing it a race issue) . Like I said earlier the British made it law to take away lands from the indigens of Zim when they were in power so Mugabe made it an unofficial law to take back the lands. He had started asking for the white farmers to give back some lands to the native Zims it was taken from since the 1980s. Seeing as the the white farmers where not willing to peacefully give back SOME of the lands the British stole he took it by force You ask me of the machines which the farmers destroyed and I ask you this, do you have proof that those machines did not belong to the farmers themselves?? I mean if the government comes to take my house by force and I burn my car, am I wrong to burn it, if it is my own property and what the government is really after is the house?? Yes the machines belonged to the farmers just like the lands belonged to native Zims so it ends up being tit for tat and though you think the government should not have acted on sentiments another might tell you individuals should not act on cruelty. |

4 Him: that is very different from blanket stereotypes like "pedophilia is common to Nigeria/Africa". The fact that Europe and America are willing to take criminal actions is testament to the fact that pedophilia knows no colors or regions.
I wonder why some are worried because the girl is 14 . . . would it have been more acceptable if the boy was 15 too? I thot we all had freedom of choice? Anyway . . . The truth is that pedophilia is more common in Africa because there is no forceful law against it. I think the worry is that a 19 yr old okorobia should find himself someone he can whisper sweet nothings to who is old enough to understand and not just follow. That is why he would be an adult. I understand why he did it though because some Nigerian men love submission and someone his age will not as willingly submit as a 14yr tata. |

4 Him: I agree with not talking to Hamas UNTIL they show they are ready to compromise and accept Israel's right to exist (which is Obama's policy anyway) but i doubt Kevin is talking out of love for Israel . . . perhaps we shld ask him where Jerusalem is on the map of the middle east. Or where Europe is on the map of the world. |

4 Him: Based on? This is dumb really . . . majority of the pedophile rings are based in the US and Europe. With the exception of the northerners in Nigeria (by virtue of culture and religion), pedophilia is looked down upon in the south. I think Europe and America are the few countries willing to take criminal actions on pedophiles. How many young girls are molested and abused in even Nigeria by older men and no one says anything even when they eventually find out. Isn't one of SOuth Africa's big problem is that disgusting men with Aids molest young gilrs because they think virgins take away aids? All they end up doing is taking away virginity for the unwanted gift of AIDS. |

Sky Blue: @Uche2nna, shouldn't the question be wether his intentions were actually genuine or just cashing in on the general feeling and cheap publicity? The situation could have been handled better but was it genuine in the first place? My qualms here is the whole feeling of shock that anybody could actually see the returning of farmland to original owners in a country that was under colonial rule and then gained independence from an empire that was not willing to let go of what wasn't theirs in the first place. Let us not hide under political correctness but let us instead be honest. Could things have been handled better? Of course. Could the whole land transfer fiasco have been a cheap political and publicity stunt on Mugabe's part? Of course. But surely you can understand why people would have been passionate about the idea in the first place. Exactly. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Zimbabwe Introduces $500 Billion Note by savanaha: 6:05pm On May 16, 2008 |
Uche2nna: If Mugabe cared for his people (as much as he says) he would have started preparing them for this take-over 15 , 20 years ago. The indigenes would have been learning what it takes to run a mechanised farm so that when the onus falls on them to do that it would not be that hard a transition. True but he started asking for the lands back since I think the 80s and the white farmers destroyed all the machines. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Zimbabwe Introduces $500 Billion Note by savanaha: 5:55pm On May 16, 2008 |
So the British implemented into their law to strip people of their lands and livelihood but then it wrong and uncalled for, after Mugabee asked them to give back some of their lands and they said no so he took it. I guess everyone has their opion but I think he was right in that and I stand by that. Do you think it is right that the white farmers made sure they destroyed all the machines for farm work before they left? While I agree that Mugabee is infected with the power hungry virus most African leaders have, the Western world also have an influence in what is going on in Zim. How dare a black man stick it back to the white lords? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Zimbabwe Introduces $500 Billion Note by savanaha: 5:43pm On May 16, 2008 |
Kobojunkie: You finally concede that having foreigners in Zimbabwe is not a bad idea?? WOW!!! LMAO!!! You mentioned earlier that you acquired much respect for the man when he kicked out the "white" farmers, most of whom, by the way, are actually Zimbabweans. Now you feel bringing foreigners in will do some good If you consider having prostitutes that will kill Mugabee as good foreigners for any country then. . . I watched people on youtube recall their lands stolen from then and then Mugabe giving it back to them. The white farmers can stay out and the prostitutes can leave when they are finished with getting rid of Mugabe. Suppose mUgabe likes black Ashawo then no need to bring foriegners in. Before you denounce Mugabe kicking the white farmers out I think you should read upon what led up to it. He had been asking them for a long time to give some of the lands which they initially stole back and they said no so. . . you know the rest. |

Politics › Re: Yar’adua Approves Higher Electricity Tariff by savanaha: 4:48am On May 16, 2008 |
dee02: Yar'Adua has contracted the Obasanjo disease; he has spent a do-nothing year at Nigerians' expense. Leaders who know their left from their right can make a difference in one year. Yar'Adua can hardly take credit for
1) "tarring" one mile of road 2) adding any wattage to the national grid, 3) boosting the morale of the nation's underpaid academics, 4)rejuvenating teaching and research in polytechnics and universities. 5) lower the un-employment rate 6) failed to prosecute corrupt ex-leaders 7) unable to provide ways to secure lives and properties
You'd think that a man dogged by serious health problems would wish to improve the state of Nigerian hospitals. Not Yar'Adua, who appears oblivious to the shame of having to be flown to Germany each time he has a serious health risk.
All they do is approve contracts which doesnt get done, fly abroad for treatments, make lofty promises which are never fulfilled, sit down on leather couches in aso rock and approve tarriffs, what a joke!
Thank you. Yar'Dumbass is a shameless slowpoke and all those that want others to feel sorry because of his health condition are greater imbeciles. If he had any shame in that red eyes of his he would realise that he should try and improve the health care in his country. Even a brain tormented with MS can make such a connection and start fixing that problem but not him. One of the ailments he is suffering is Juandice, look at how red his sclera are. |

I love my dad but when my friends call he always pulls the " I am on the phone." When I tell him that he is not he tells me he is expecting a phone call ,those weird ones that never actually come true, or that my friends who have no manners and home training will not be calling the house if they can't great people properly by saying sir with everyword. I think its quiet funny and typical of Nigerians but not everyone is raised like that, doesn't mean gross disrespect just mere differences in culture. |

I once found a rusty nail in my frosted flakes cereal, I called Kellogs to inform the company just for information sake and they sent me a postage envelope to return it and in addition gave me coupons for free boxes of cereal.
