Politics / Buhari Is A Partial Arbiter/abettor – Here’s The Evidence, By Moses Ochonu by shehuolayinka(m): 11:15am On Aug 28, 2021
I made a post yesterday about Governor Simon Lalong’s rank incompetence, stating that while we have rightly critiqued Buhari for his “ethno-religiously selective approach to national security issues” we should criticize the Governor for his cluless indifference.

One of my Facebook interlocutors, NM Manga, disagreed that Buhari has been ethno-religiously selective in his approach to the crisis in Jos and other places. Here, below, is my response to him and others like him who may have been living in a cave to have missed the overwhelming evidence of Buhari’s audaciously selective and biased approach to the current security calamity in Nigeria:

1.For months, armed Fulani militia massacred the Irigwe people, who are Christians, in their ancestral homes, burning, maiming, destroying, and displacing thousands who became IDP’s in their own land. The most horrific of these killings occurred three weeks ago, with 70 killed in three days of murderous rampage. There was not a single statement from the presidency of Muhammdu Buhari condemning these killings or even acknowledging them. But the moment the Irigwe youth misguidedly killed the 20 Muslim travelers in retaliation, Buhari’s presidency issued a terse, strongly worded condemnation and even called the killings “carefully planned” even though no investigations had been done at the time. We were even told by the terrorism-preaching minister, Isa Pantami, (who is still inexplicably serving in a regime embroiled in the fight against Islamist terrorists) that the president could not eat for three days after hearing of the killings. The IGP immediately deployed mobile policemen with a helicopter and a special IGP IRT team, which promptly arrested more than thirty Irigwe youth. Soldiers were also deployed. Is this not a blatantly selective and biased approach to security issues that reinforce the well-established truth that Buhari is committed to “Fulanization” and the agenda of chasing the farming ethnicities of the Middle Belt from their land and replacing them with his nomadic Fulani kinsfolk? Do you not see the selective outrage and selective intervention here? If you don’t consider this injustice and selectivity on primordial ethnic and religious grounds then you too may be blinded by what drives Buhari.

2.Yesterday, amidst the curfew imposed by the government, armed Fulani militia murdered 30 Christians in Zangama village in Jos North Local Government. The presidency did not even bother to make a statement acknowledging or condemning the massacre, let alone responding in practical terms against the perpetrators in the manner it did with the killing of the Muslim travelers. Does this look fair to you?

3.Since the almost weekly armed Fulani herdsmen killings started in Plateau, how many people have been apprehended? How many military or police operations have you seen launched against the perpetrators? These forces are under the ultimate control of Buhari, the commander-in-chief, and his appointee, the IGP.

4.Did you not read the widely reported and yet to be refuted story in which, as the Irigwe people were being killed for three days (three days!!), soldiers stationed in the area refused to intervene even after the Chief of the community cried out to them several times because, as they told the chief, they had no order from above to intervene against the Fulani attackers? Is this not evidence of Buhari’s pro-Fulani or the “Fulanization” Obasanjo spoke about? Is this not evidence of the cooptation of the armed forces and their subsequent complicity in the murderous campaigns of armed herdsmen in the Middle Belt, which former Chief of Army Staff and Defense Minister, Gen. T.Y Danjuma spoke about?

5.A video is circulating online as we speak of a certain Islamic cleric, Alkali Abubakar Salihu Zaria, who threatened Christians in the Northern states with mass killings. As of today, the presidency has not condemned this incitement. Nor has the DSS invited the cleric for a chat. Contrast this with the invitation and detention of Rev. El-Buba, Apostle Suleiman, and Obadiah Mailafiya, who made incendiary but much less inciting statements and were promptly invited by the DSS.

6.Have you forgotten the statement from the presidency that the people of Plateau, Southern Kaduna, and Benue who are being massacred by armed Fulani herdsmen would be better off surrendering their lands to the killers and live than to resist and die? Is that not more evidence of Buhari’s selective and biased handling of the security problems of the areas under discussion?

7.The Buhari administration’s strong opposition to the Southern Governors’ resolution banning open grazing, even while awarding billions to the Katsina state government to establish ranches, a brazen double-standard emblematic of his presidency.

8.The determination of the Buhari regime to forcefully take land from communities in the Middle Belt and Southern States and award same to his Fulani nomadic kinsfolk under the guise of cattle colony, ruga program, and the latest incarnation called grazing reserves recovery.

9.The Buhari regime’s mollycoddling of bandits/terrorists/kidnappers—most of them Fulani—in the Northwest; his sheepish appeals to them to surrender and be rehabilitated, while unleashing the full military arsenal of the FG on IPOB and Yoruba separatists.

10.Refusing to authorize full military action against the Fulani bandits/terrorists of the Northwest because, according to the presidency and military authorities, lunching a full military assault on the terrorists in their forest enclaves will endanger civilians. The regime of courses does not have the same concern in other places and has authorized Crocodile Smile, Python Dance, and other code-named military operations in much less violent areas of the country with much less threatening groups of criminals.

11.The forceful response of the presidency to folks like Gov. Ortom when they urge self-defense against armed Fulani marauders and the same regime’s curious silence when Governor Masari recently asked Katsina people to acquire weapons and fight back against bandits.

Politics / Buhari Has Not Done Anything For Us, Only Creating Enemies – Miyatti Allah by shehuolayinka(m): 10:03am On Jan 24, 2021
Saleh Alhassan, the National Secretary of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore herdsmen group says President Muhammadu Buhari has not done anything for the Fulani Herdsmen but only creating enemies for them.

In an interview with Punch Newspaper, Alhassan said herdsmen were far worse off under Buhari administration.

He also said Herdsmen being marginalised in the country, calling on the Federal Government to heed the call for the restructuring of the country to allow the Fulani go their way.

On Monday, Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of Ondo, ordered herders to vacate the forest reserves over rising insecurity in the state.

Akeredolu had said “bad elements” have turned the forest reserves into hideouts for keeping victims of kidnapping, negotiating ransom and carrying out other criminal activities.

The governor’s directive sparked mixed reactions, with Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, saying Akeredolu cannot unilaterally oust thousands of herders “who have lived all their lives in the state”.

The Northern Elders Forum also asked the herders in the state to disregard Akeredolu’s order.

“The Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, doesn’t have any right to give such ultimatum to our people. People, including Fulani, voted for him to be the governor; so he should be the governor of everybody in the state,” he said.

Family / Social Media Could End Marriage As We Know It, By Fredrick Nwabufo by shehuolayinka(m): 11:06am On Dec 27, 2020
Chioma is having troubles with her mother-in-law. I know because she made it headline news on her social media page. She does not share her concerns with the other party in the nuptial contract or with a trained counsellor, but with aliens on social media who are sweating on the treadmill of their own problems and who have no understanding of the situational context.

Hear Chioma: ‘’It has been uncomfortable living with my mother-in-law. She insists I do my husband’s laundry which I never did even while we were dating and in our first few years of marriage. My husband’s laundry has always been done by dry-cleaners. Beyond this, I feel policed in my own house; like I am working on egg shells. I do not know how to talk to my husband about it. Please I will appreciate your advice on how to deal with this problem. I will be reading comments.’’

Social media could end marriage as we know it. It has become the stranger in the bed of matrimony. It is the third wheel on which some spouses unload their marital problems, but which most times complicates them. A husband goes on a philippic on social media on how women are unfaithful because he suspects his partner is cheating, and a wife flies ‘the men are scum’ trope because she suspects her spouse has a side chick – to the entertainment of strangers who do not give a hoot.

I recall the case of a certain man who went on a social media joyride, revealing lewd details of his wife. The marriage ended in divorce.

I think marital differences become irreconcilable when social media is invited to bed. The internet never forgets. Really, we live in a society where marriage counsellors are mostly pastors without training and who lack competence to advise anyone on marriage. Biblical prescriptions often counselled by pastors – of ‘’wife submit to your husband and husband love your wife’’ – are flawed and vacant of real-life solutions.

So, most people turn to social media to vent about their marital challenges and seek answers from strangers – without vicarious experience. But every marriage experience is unique. As faces are different, so are the problems. It is not one size-fits-all. The prescriptions for marriage A could be lethal for marriage B. I believe every marriage must work out its own salvation, and in the event peace becomes the Holy Grail in the union, there is the exit door which is as wide as the entry door. Marriage should not be a life sentence with hard labour. But fundamentally, salvaging it should be primary.

Health / COVID-19 Outbreak Hits Oyedepo’s Church After Shiloh 2020 by shehuolayinka(m): 1:26pm On Dec 26, 2020
Living Faith Church, also known as Winner Chapel has been reportedly hit by an outbreak of the novel coronavirus also known as COVID-19.

According to Fisayo Soyombo, an investigative journalist, a worker became affected after attending the yearly Shiloh 2020.

Located in Ota, Ogun State, Living Faith Church Worldwide is an Evangelical founded by David Oyedepo in 1981.

He also disclosed that some pastor of the church who attended the service have started exhibiting symptoms of the virus, but just keeping it to themselves.

His post also urged the affected pastors to come out and inform the church about their symptoms and should also try to isolate themselves and try not to pass on the virus

His post reads, “A worker at the Living Faith Church is down with COVID-19 after attending Shiloh 2020. His wife, daughter and domestic staffer are exhibiting symptoms of the virus — even their dog! Some pastors who attended Shiloh are down with the virus too.”

“This worker didn’t want to physically attend Shiloh, held from December 8 to 13, but had no alternative because the church made it compulsory for workers. As can be seen from internet videos, congregants mingled with one another without masks or social distancing.”

“In the past, the church observed safety protocol such as social distancing, wearing of face masks and hand washing. However, at Shiloh, no precautionary measures were in place. “People were just careless,” he said. “Yes, many people didn’t come this year because of COVID but those in attendance were careless.”

Politics / Bakare Has Affirmed Fringy Whispers About Tinubu Origin – Farooq Kperogi by shehuolayinka(m): 1:18pm On Dec 26, 2020
United States of America based Nigerian academic, media scholar at Kennesaw State University, Georgia, Professor Farooq Kperogi says Latter Rain Pastor, Tunde Bakare has basically affirmed all the hitherto fringy whispers about Bola Tinubu’s origin, former Lagos State governor and a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, (APC).

Kperogi in this week “Notes from Atlanta” article, titled Bakare Didn’t Defend Tinubu; He Defanged Him, touched on Bakare’s sermon and controversy surrounding the origin of the 2023 Presidential hopeful.

He said, “In Bakare’s political homily, he basically affirmed all the hitherto fringy whispers about Tinubu: that he is from Iragbiji in Osun State; that his current name is not his original name; that he has disowned his biological parents and “adopted” the Tinubu family of Lagos with whom he has zero consanguineal affiliation; that the late legendary Alhaja Abibat Mojaji of Lagos is not Tinubu’s biological mother; that he has an odious “past”; that he is corruptly “making money from taxation” by “exploiting the system to his advantage”; and that he is “transparently corrupt.”

He further said, Tinubu would rather want Nigerians to be discussing about him as he stealthily campaigns to be Nigeria’s next president and works to fend off ferocious, multifarious challenges to his grip on Lagos and Southwest politics.

“He would much rather that people think of him as a Lagosian who is a scion of the famous Tinubu family, who has always been known as Bola Ahmed, and whose biological mother was the late Alhaja Abibat Mogaji.”

Bakare had in a trending video few days ago, while preaching at the Lagos citadel church, in a sermon tagged ‘An Idle Man’s Brain Is The Devil’s Workshop, reported by The Cable Newspaper praised and described Tinubu as Jephthah in the bible, stating that despite the circumstances of his birth, he rose to power and delivered Lagos and almost all the Southwest states from the “onslaught of PDP.”

Health / Nigeria Considering As Four African Countries, 36 Others Ban Travel From UK by shehuolayinka(m): 12:05pm On Dec 23, 2020
More than 40 countries have banned travel from the United Kingdom due to the fast-spreading new strain of the coronavirus.

Among them are four African countries – Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Mauritius, with Nigeria also considering to suspend travel from the UK.

The chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, at a press briefing on Monday said, “A lot of discussions is still going on around the calls for the restriction of international travels due to the discovery of new strains of the virus in certain countries.

“The protection of Nigerians remains our primary concern and we reassure Nigerians of our resolve not to relent.”

According to reports, scientists at the Redeemer’s University, Nigeria, say they have found the United Kingdom’s ‘lineage B.1.1.7,’ a mutant variant of the COVID-19 global pandemic, in Nigeria.

Scotland had already closed its border with the rest of the United Kingdom.

Here are some of travel bans announced so far.

– France –

France has halted all travel from Britain for 48 hours, including anyone transporting goods by road, air, sea or rail.

Paris and London are in talks over testing at ports to reopen the border, British Home Secretary Priti Patel said.

– Germany –

Germany is extending a ban on all arrivals from the UK and South Africa – where the new strain has also appeared – until January 6.

– Spain and Portugal –

Spain and Portugal are suspending flights, with Madrid only allowing its nationals or residents to enter from Britain.

Politics / Where Is Leah Sharibu? Does She Know It’s Christmas?, By Fredrick Nwabufo by shehuolayinka(m): 11:15am On Dec 23, 2020
In the evening of February 19, 2018, 110 schoolgirls of Government Girls’ Science Secondary School, Dapchi in Yunusari local government of area of Yobe state were abducted by Boko Haram and taken into grisly captivity. Five of the girls died in the hands of their captors. But after weeks of negotiations between the government and the abductors, 104 of the schoolgirls were released except one – Leah Sharibu.

Leah refused to succumb to the vile power of her holders. She refused to deny her faith in return for her freedom. She feared God, not man or weapons of death. She held on to her God and refused to kneel before Baal. Boko Haram held her for refusing to convert.

In April 2018, Leah sent out a message of despair; a desperate call for help. She said: “I am Leah Sharibu, the girl that was abducted in GGSS Dapchi. I am calling on the government and people of goodwill to intervene to get me out of my current situation.”

“I also plead to the members of the public to help my mother, father, my younger brother and relatives. Kindly help me out of my predicament. I am begging you to treat me with compassion. I am calling on the government, particularly the president to pity me and get me out of this serious situation.”

It is yet another Christmas — the third one – but Leah, who was 14 years old at the time of her abduction, will not be receiving gifts from Santa Claus. There have been speculations that the teenager has been killed; that she has been married off to a commander of the terror group and that she is with child. All these are still speculations. Leah needs closure. Leah’s parents deserve answers; they need to be put out of their agony. Nigerians deserve closure. We cannot all move on when a young girl whose only offence is getting an education and whose government and country have failed.

Where is Leah Sharibu? Does she know it is Christmas?

BUHARI’S FAILED PROMISES TO RESCUE LEAH

1. In October 2018, President Muhammadu Buhari made a solemn commitment to bring Leah back home to her parents.

He said to Leah’s Mother, Rebecca Sharibu: “I convey my emotion, the strong commitment of my administration and the solidarity of all Nigerians to you and your family as we will do our best to bring your daughter home in peace and safety.”

2. On July 6, 2019, during the Army Day Celebrations at Ikeja Cantonment, Lagos state, Buhari who was represented by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo rehashed the same vow.

He said: “Let me use this opportunity to reassure the affected families and friends that the Buhari administration will not relent in our efforts to see that all the remaining girls, including Leah Sharibu, are freed and reunited with their families.’’

3. And on February 19, 2020 – the second anniversary of Leah’s abduction, Buhari restated his vow to secure the release of the young girl – after previous failed promises.

He said: “Two years ago, 110 innocent children from the town of Dapchi were taken, against their will, by the terrorists of Boko Haram. 107 survived the ordeal. Today all but one – Leah Sharibu – are returned to their families. Now aged 16, Leah remains in the hands of the terrorists – they say because she refuses to renounce her Christian faith. We say, as the government for and of all Nigerians, that no person has the right to force another to change their faith against their will and that all life is sacred.

Politics / Western Intervention In Libya Is Moving State Failure Towards Nigeria - Expert by shehuolayinka(m): 10:56am On Nov 30, 2020
Onye Nkuri, a Nigerian based Political and International Affair analyst has said western intervention in Libya is moving Nigeria towards becoming a failed state.

The Social Commentator said this in a series of tweets noting that the West is more likely to accelerate state failure in the Sahel/West Africa, than prevent it.

According to him, Local governance in Northern Nigeria collapsed about 20 – 30 years ago.

He also said for Nigeria, the only people who can prevent the country from falling are the political elite but that they lack the competence & conviction to prevent the country from failing.

His tweets read, “There’s state failure all over the Sahel, and its moving southwards – towards Nigeria,” he said

“It was accelerated by the Western intervention in Libya. So let’s understand that the West is more likely to accelerate state failure in the Sahel/West Africa, than prevent it.”

“Some African states will fail this century – within the next few decades. And most of them will be in the Sahel.”

“The only people who can prevent Nigeria from failing are the Nigerian political elite – but they lack [like (sic)] the competence & conviction to prevent state failure.”

Politics / Before BBOG, Hadiza Was Part Of APC, Buhari Campaign Team - Aisha Yesufu by shehuolayinka(m): 11:28am On Nov 29, 2020
Aisha Yesufu, a human rights activist and a lead campaigner of the Bring Back Our Girls group (BBOG) says BBOG should be left alone from the discussion surrounding the transfer made by Aliko Dangote, Africa's richest man to Hadiza Bala Usman, a former member of the group and current Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) Managing Director days before 2015 Presidential election.

People's Gazzette, an Online News platform had earlier published how Dangote transferred Two Million Naira in two tranches to Ms. Bala Usman’s account with Access Bank.

Yesufu in a series of tweets said, BBOG was self-funded and disclosing that Hadiza was part of Buhari campaign team before she joined the group.

Politics / Dangote Transferred N200M To BBOG Campaigner Days Before 2015 Election - Report by shehuolayinka(m): 11:02am On Nov 28, 2020
Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man transferred Two Hundred million naira to Hadiza Bala Usman, the current boss of the Nigerian Port Authority and a former lead campaigner of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group days before the 2015 Presidential election won by current President Muhammadu Buhari.

BBOG according to their profile, is a diverse group of citizens advocating for speedy and effective search and rescue of all our abducted girls and for a rapid containment and quelling of insurgency in Nigeria.

People’s Gazette in a report stated that the transactions were sent in two tranches from two different bank accounts of Dangote to Ms. Bala Usman’s account with Access Bank.

It said Ms. Bala Usman received the first N100 million transfer on February 6, 2015; while the second N100 million came through three days later on February 9. The transfers carried ambiguous descriptions that made it difficult to conclude their purpose.

Politics / The Hypocrisy Of The South-east, By Fredrick Nwabufo by shehuolayinka(m): 10:56am On Nov 28, 2020
The hypocrite minimises his own flaws and makes allowances for imperfections while homing in on and exaggerating the problems of another. We have an even distribution of hypocrites among all sections of the country. But I think there is a more bubbling joint of whited sepulchres in the south-east. Yes, a host of people lost in gyrations of affected piety and plaster saints who capitalise and summarise their troubles with third-party headlines. They are never responsible for own their problems; there is always someone or some people in the north, south-west or south-south to blame. Even the gully erosion ravaging my area in Anambra is blamed on exteriorised agents.

When are we going to take responsibility for our troubles? When are we going to face up to the adversaries within – not in the north or south-west? And when are we going to call out corruption by our own?

We are fixated on the Bola Tinubu corruption trope, but our own people made flatulent by loot we palliate the enormity of their malfeasance. A former governor of Abia state was jailed for alleged N7.65 billion fraud. He was alleged to have magicked the contents of Abia state treasury into his private vault. But after he was released from prison, there was a carnival in the streets of Abia to welcome him – the same people he allegedly stole from. The same former governor has enjoyed canonisation by his people and even projected by them as a ‘’worthy son’’ to replace President Buhari in 2023.

Hypocrites! Tinubu in Lagos is a bigger headache to Okoye in Owerri than the ruins of Imo state? We are more concerned about the acts of tyranny in faraway Kaduna under Nasir el-Rufai than the attempts at autocracy in Imo.

Governors in the south-east have largely escaped outrage and social media justice, because the citizens of the region concern themselves with amplifying the troubles of the north, while glossing over the cancer ravaging the area. We cavort giddily to sit in parliament on issues affecting the north while our own problems are mitigated – and most times totally ignored.

In Anambra, for instance, there are over 1,000 gully erosion sites. About 70 percent of the land in the state is witnessing chronic denudation. Statistics show the environmental peril is devouring Aguata/Orumba local government areas, which have more than 78 gullies; Nnewi, (60 cavities); Njikoka/Aniocha, (50 gullies); Idemili, (46 dangerous openings); Ihiala, (40 gullies); Awka, (30 cavities); Onitsha, (22 gullies); and Anambra/Oyi, (16 gullies).

Many citizens of Anambra have lost valuable property to this creeping violator of nature. This monster has remained untamed. Now, 70 percent of land in the state is under threat! And there are gloomy projections that this intruder could overrun the state in the next few years. Yet no deliberate and exigent plan to salvage what is left. No alarm! No emergency! It is like we are waiting for the inexorable doomsday.

Politics / OPINION: For The Umpteenth Time, Who Really Killed Alex Badeh And Why Are His... by shehuolayinka(m): 10:34am On Nov 28, 2020
OPINION: For the umpteenth time, who really killed Alex Badeh and why are his alleged killers not in court?

By Umar Sa’ad Hassan

From as ‘early’ as 6 months after the death of immediate past Chief of Defense Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh it was obvious something wasn’t right and this is the 3rd time in 2 years i am writing to ask this question-‘WHO REALLY KILLED ALEX BADEH & WHY ARE HIS ALLEGED KILLERS NOT IN COURT?.Whether or not Badeh was murdered to prevent him from disclosing the alleged shady dealings of Current Chief of Army Staff, Gen.Tukur Buratai who before becoming COAS had already bought 2 houses in Dubai while Jonathan was President or whether or not he was fed to President Buhari’s alleged fulani militia, one thing is clear-Badeh died in highly suspicious circumstances.

The Police on the 27th of December 2018 said it had arrested persons in connection to the killing it didn’t want to parade because it could alert the other members of the gang.Later that very same day,a video confession of one of the 5 suspects in custody surfaced. He said they waylaid Badeh on the highway, shot him and took money they had already been told he was going to purchase a new farmland with in Nassarawa. The Badeh family instantly dismissed it as a charade. They said Badeh’s bank accounts had all been frozen and that his entitlements had also been stopped. His house in Abuja was littered with trash because he didn’t even have money to pay the refuse company.

They went further to say someone asked him for money at his farm to buy drugs and he told the person to take some maize and sell because he was broke. That was 2 years ago.The Buhari administration has blatantly refused to prosecute those it arrested for his murder. What are they hiding?.A day after my first article asking questions was published, another new 14 persons were paraded by the Military as having being arrested in a joint operation with the DSS.They had placed an ‘ongoing investigations’ sign on the case to buy time but what is really complicated about a case where a suspect voluntarily confessed to killing the victim with a blow by blow account of the roles other named accomplices played?.Except of course they want the matter forgotten over time.

The noise made a while ago about prosecuting his security details and how obtaining their statements wasn’t easy was a shabby attempt at evading the real issue; the self-confessed killers in custody. We were told when Badeh was killed that a friend riding with him was taken away by the killers and that he was released only after a ransom was paid. The suspect that spoke never admitted to doing that with his gang and till date, that friend hasn’t been identified by anyone.

The Buhari administration has a history of protecting allies it has sacrificed.Notably Lawal Daura, the President’s townsman and former DSS boss who was made the scapegoat for the invasion of the National Assembly by the DSS after foreign countries besieged the villa with calls and visits by their ambassadors to enquire if all was well.Daura had blocked the entrance to the houses of Former Senate President,Bukola Saraki and his deputy,Sen.Ike Ekweremadu just weeks earlier so the Presidency couldn’t claim to be unaware of his excesses.Daura was not prosecuted and is rumoured as at this time to have moved overseas.

Then there is also the case of the first lady,Aisha Buhari’s former Aide-De-Camp,ASP Sani Baba-Inna who was arrested for fraudulently obtaining N2.5bn from undisclosed persons in her name. Most people said the money was hers and that he may have been punished for getting too greedy. That much was corroborated by Baba-Inna’s family members when they met with frontline activist,Deji Adeyanju. They said Baba-Inna’s greed got him into trouble and that they know he even bought a house for one of her daughters in Abuja. Its been over 2 years now and nobody from the presidency or the police has told us why Baba-Inna wasn’t charged to court. There he will state his version of events and they don’t want that.

Politics / ‘shekau Is Actually Right To Say He Is Working For God’ by shehuolayinka(m): 6:04pm On Nov 19, 2020
Immanuel James Ibe-Anyanwu, author of best selling book, Under Brigde says Abubakar Shekau, the leader of the dreaded Islamist group, Boko Haram is actually right to say he’s working for God.

Ibe-Anyanwu who is also a political analyst and social commentator in a post shared on his Facebook page said every religion believes itself the ultimate truth, all others false. None leaves room for doubt.

Shekau had in a 30-minute video seen by HumAngle in response to the Nigerian Army’s fresh manhunt for him, said he cannot be arrested because he was doing the work of God and ‘He will protect him’.

The Nigerian Army had on Wednesday, November 11, kicked off a fresh manhunt for Shekau and some of the top Boko Haram commanders.

A banner showing the pictures of Shekau, Abu Mus’ab Albarnawy, and Ibrahim Abu Maryam, who topped the most wanted list, was unveiled by Babagana Zulum, governor of Borno state, and Tukur Buratai, Chief of Army Staff.

Shekau, who spoke in a 30-minute video seen by HumAngle in response to the Nigerian Army’s fresh manhunt for him, vowed that the war against the government would continue even after him.

In the video, the Boko Haram leader was shown sitting circled by two of his fighters holding guns in a less spacious room.

He said, “Nobody can apprehend me because I’m doing God’s work. He will protect me like those doing similar work and seeking His protection.

“I’m very sure God will protect my commanders. We are all doing God’s work.”

Ibe-Anyanwu post read…

Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau is actually right to say he is working for God. This is philosophy but I will try simplify it.
