Diademk07:How were you you able to type this excuse and with all boldness submit it for people to read? Should I remind you that Schlupp, Gray and Okazaki you're trying to make supermen were all in the game when Shekpe came from behind to butt r@pe Leceister 4-2? Why didn't they save Leceister? So they "didn't slack in their pressing game (according to you)" and yet Shekpe destroyed them? You're very biased. Your excuses are as useless as the letter P in Psychology. When teams score United - United's midfield is sluggish and useless. But when United destroys opponents - United is lucky that their opponents' midfield was bad. Nice inconsequential analogy. Kagawa10, away with your hatred for Herrera. There is nothing wrong with his performance. Gray was only good in that second-half coz the ENTIRE United team took their feet off the pedal not coz of your imaginary second-half pressing of Leceister. I was angry at that Leceister goal but I didn't blame anybody coz only Barca and Bayern can keep up with pressing of a team without relenting for the entire match. United are team in progress, with time we'll master that tactic. So the entire team taking their feetboff the pedal was the reason Leceister didn't conceded more. It had nothing to do with "improved Amarte/Leceister pressing in the second-half". There are few teams on this planet that without luck, can come out unscathed and unbruised after the relentless wave of attacks and pressing we dished out to Leceister. Even if the entire Leceister team were made up of Gray and your laughable Schlupp, United would have r@ped them easily. United were heads and shoulders above them and your Gray is very average, there's nothing he'd have done that he hasn't done before. I'm done with this argument. |
Diademk07:While you're right about not praising the team till we've seen consistent display, I must say you're biased for blaming Herrera on a day he's brilliant. You hate that guy for no sane reason. He wasn't even at fault for Gray's goal yet you're blaming him. You mean out of all the United players It's only Herrera that Gray made a fool of? You're very biased. If it's Harrop or Poo {feaces} abi na Poole playing, you'd have littered this thread with their adulation. You no know ball!! |
Chelseafan1:Amen. For Ibime, Chelsea must rąpe Gayners today.. Congrats Ibime on the birth of your child, may she bring you untold success and joy |
SIRcumalot:God forbid. Chelsea must win so I can party at Pataki's desert of a thread. |
No need to go into details on how this team played and impressed on all fronts. I just want to say that, if you're a United fan who has been hurt seeing our endless sleep-inducing display since SAF left, if you're a United fan that watched with dismay as useless clubs from different divide came to Old Trafford and cleanly rąped us on their way jinx-breaking victory, if you're a United fan that has had to switch to Telenova stations than watch United under LvG and Moyes. . . and you missed this match first-hand, No need of telling what you missed. Just try any means possible to re-watch it and see brilliant display of exceptional football. It felt like I was watching United under Ferguson again. I want to add that 1. I dont care where Mourinho plays Blind, even if na to bench Shaw whom I like, I don't care. But Blind must play. That guy is without a doubt our most intelligent player in that defence. 2. I'm the chief critic of Pogba on here, and I still stand by everything I've written about him. But I want this guy to put me to shame. To make me swallow my words back. To put me to shame so much that people will quote my posts about him and mock me. That's how much I want him to succeed. Nice output today from him 3. Finally, I'm more than happy for our midfield department today. If we're make top-4 this season, our midfield must play brilliantly. Last time it's Carrick and Schneiderlin, today it's Pogba and Herrera; and both combo worked perfectly. Fellani has improved too. I can only say this improved performances are down to the competitiveness in that area. I want our midfield to be so competitive like how Gayners midfield is that forced Wheelchair on loan. It'll make each player to take their chances whenever they're called upon. Nice game guys. At least make we rest small and move the party to other threads. ![]() |
A40 and Raumdeuter, I think Airmark is right on this one. It's a tricky subject but calling Mascherano a makeshift CB while Boateng or Ramos is called a CB is the right thing to say. My argument would be based on the fact that while Mascherano position fluctuates, that of Ramos or Boateng doesn't. Mascherano started out as a DM in all his club, even at Barca before being moved permanently to the CB role later at Barca coz of Busquet. During those times, he's still playing as a DM for the national team. Argentina would not play Mascherano as a CB. Romero has more chances of playing as a CB than Mascherano. Lol. But this can't be said for Ramos or Boateng. Boateng played as a RB earlier in his career, but he's been converted to a CB permanently and he's been playing there ever since for club or country. Even if the Germany RBs are all injured, Low will rather pick from the plethora of German RBs than think for a sec of fielding Boateng there. Same logic applies to Ramos. Even if Bellerin, Carvajal and Co are injured, the new coach will rather pick Sergio Roberto than to think of ever playing Ramos there. This is why Ramos and Boateng can't be called a makeshift CB, while the likes of Mascherano, Martinez, Blind, etc., are all makeshift CBs. My 1kobo. |
AdisaOwala:That thing is a troll, an aberration and a curse upon this thread. Please, let's stop reading, talk more of quoting his posts. Pay it no mind. |
Morale boosting win for the guys tonight. I know it's against a small club, but this win was really needed. Hopefully, they can build on this victory. Our midfield of Herrera, Carrick and Schneiderlin were more efficient and fluent than that of Rooney, Fellani and Pogba. I was impressed with Herrera and Schneiderlin the most, Carrick was great too. TFM was poor tonight, looked unsolid for most of the match. I'll pardon him though, this is his first competitive match. The Rooney issue of playing badly is not worth talking about. I'm used to it. However, I saw some people buying the rumors that were stating that Mourinho will bench Rooney for today's match. I never believed those fairytales coz Mourinho lacks the cojones to bench Rooney. I was wrong to think he could. Some people has alluded Mourinho's inability to bench Rooney to politics, saying Mourinho doesn't want to bench him coz of his status in United and he doesn't want to repeat his mistakes at Shekpe and Madrid. I say that's bullshît. The scenarios are different. Casillas was the darling of Madrid with huge fan base when Mourinho dropped him. It's understandable. Same could be said for Hazard and Terry's situation who are fans favorite. But Rooney's case? It's an open secret that United fans are tired of Rooney in that team. The pundits are complaining. As a matter of fact, there will be party across the globe from United fans if Rooney start getting benched. So what's Mourinho afraid of? The fans will support such development so I don't believe it's about some imaginary politics. I firmly believe it's either there's a clause in Rooney's contract that entitled him to steady playing of football or United pays heavily in court, or Rooney's image or financial attraction rakes in money for United hence why he can't be benched. I believe it's the former rather than the latter. If it's none of them, then Rooney's jazz is strong. Also, I feel apart from our midfield conundrum, another area that's holding us back is the right wing position. Mourinho made a great mistake not securing the services of a left-footed tricky winger who could cut inside and unleash a cracker. Over the years, football have evolved from era of right-footed wingers playing on the right flank and vice versa. Nowadays we have the likes of Messi, Hazard, Robben and co, cutting in from their various positions on the wing to their favorite foot before unleashing a menacing shot into the net. While we've the likes of Young and Martial to do this for us from the left wing (11 position), we are lacking such a player on the right wing. Valencia hardly cuts in from the right coz his main foot is the right foot and therefore can't shoot well with his left foot if he ever cuts in. Lingard, same story. Mhiki against City, same story. Young this night, same pathetic story. He couldn't take the left back head on coz he's only dangerous when he cuts in from the left wing into his favorite right food to curl in a screamer. He's just useless on that wing in the first half, delivering poor performance and miskicking his shots end up as passes for Rooney to squander. I'd have blasted him but I knew he wasn't good on that wing, he'd have wrecked more havoc if he played from Memphis position. Only Mata is our left-footed winger for us but he's not natural winger. He lacks the trickery, dribble, speed and intelligence for such roles. Mourinho should sort out this problem. Overall, I'm happy for the win. Leceister next!! |
Giyazz, I've voted. I think you should tag Lalasticlala to help push it to FP. |
IamWestAfrican and others, peep this battle. It's the hottest battle out right now from Smack's BL3 that was just released last Saturday. That ninja Mike P along with Rum Nitty are two newcomers that pack enough heat and hit hard. And this battle also marked Daylyt's URL debut. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxulc0lCK8M |
AdisaOwala:This is just Pogba's number 1 stupidity. He needs to realize he's no Messi or C. Ronaldo and calm the fuvk down. If he stays one place, protect the defence and release passes on time, even if the team loses no-one would blame him. That's why Fellani is not being lambasted despite our losses coz he does his job. |
When I said Mourinho lacked the balls to exert his authority on our 'untouchables', I wasn't wrong. I repeat, how Mourinho handles the problem in the article below will prove his success or failure, I said it a long time ago and this article just reiterated my opinion. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2016/sep/18/wayne-rooney-manchester-united-midfield-mess-jose-mourinho |
eph12:I'm not blaming Fellani. Read again. I'm blaming Mourinho for using Fellani as our only DM. He's been fantastic for us but he can't do the DM job alone coz of Poor Pogba. That's why I never wanted Pogba coz he doesn't know his position. He leaves Fellani with excessive load to carry coz he's always out of position. Mourinho has no tactics whatsoever for now. Give Mourinho Man City and he'd probably bench KDB and play 3 defensive midfielders. ![]() |
eph12:If Mourinho expects Fellani to man our DM alone, then he's an idiot. How many top teams play one DM only? The sluggish Fellani to accurately man our DM? SMH. Anyway, I don't think anybody Mourinho buys will solve our midfield problem unless Mourinho has an actual tactic to go with it. he's clueless right now. Man City are playing well coz Pep has instilled in them his personal tactics, same as Loserfool. Mourinho has simply continued Gail's legacy nothing new added. |
eph12:It's a waste of money then coz he's also useless as a B2B. He lacks what it takes to be a B2B. I prefer he sits his ass in the DM (where Mourinho places him in his formation) and protect our defense. Let him leave the attack for our wingers, attack and AMs. |
Pataki: dmcdad:You're wrong, bros. NO United loss can make me disappear. I've walked with my head held high from Moyes till this day no matter the gale of defeats that's been serenading us since SAF left. The most painful United loss to me was the second UCL final loss to Barca, and the next day I still went out with no shame. So I've seen worst losses than Watford's. I haven't been online since Friday, so I didn't disappear. That said, I didn't watch the match coz of a wedding I attended and I'm glad I didn't, seeing all the wailing on this thread. I'm not surprised though, I saw it coming and warned about it after our last performance. I can't apportion blame on anyone coz I didn't watch it. I don't how we played. As for Mourinho, I won't let out my fangs yet. I gave Moyes till February and Gaal, until second season before wanting them out. I'll keep supporting Mourinho till first half of this season is over then I'll know if I can criticize him and pray for his sack. I saw Pogba coming in for some criticisms today and I can't help but laugh. When I said Pogba was the most overhyped player during the summer, people thought I was hating on him. When I wished for Kante/Matuidi purchase or Kante/Medelpurchase, someone mocked me, giving me Pogba's assists and goals stats of last season. What the person failed to understand is that we're buying Pogba as A DM not a CM or AM. And Pogba alacks ALL the quality of DM. He's not strong, he has no pace, he's lacks positional discipline, he doesn't protect the defense. He's not even creative. He's just clueless. Pogba's greatest fault is LACK OF POSITIONAL DISCIPLINE. Take a look at Busquet, Busquet is not the best DM in the world or your normal DM. He's not brutal like most DMs are known to be but he's been a success at Barca coz mostly one quality - POSITIONAL DISCIPLINE. Busquet doesn't wander too much from his position. He doesnt act like Pogba and wander to the wings or attack all the time or try to show off and dribble. He does a simple but effective job - whenever MSN or Barca's wingers are pressurizing their opponents and mistakenly one of them slips out of their marking, Busquet notices the loose canon and moves quickly to snuff out the threat. Once he does that, he passes to the ball to the likes of Xavi and co so they can wreck havoc while he relaxes and wait for the next loose canon. He keeps it simple but it's effective. Pogba never does this in his matches I've seen so far. He wanders a lot, away from his position leaving the defenders and Fellani to suffer. This is why I preferred Kante. He protects the defense very well. We need to stop thinking assists and goals are the hallmark of DMs. Makele has a mediocre goal and assist stats, yet the DM position is named after him. Fûck the assists, Bleep the dribble, Bleep the fame and price tag on his name, Pogba needs to calm down and protect the defense only. Leave the goal to our wingers and attackers. Let him stop the exhibitions he's displaying and get physical and dirty. Medel of Chile does this effectively. That beast is a pitbull who plays with brute force and that's what we need, not some new haircuts donning clown acting like the next Vieira but not better than Olofinjana. Nonsense!! Anyway, I'm not panicking. This is the 5th match. If Mourinho acts fast and grow some balls, he can turn it around or watch as he booted out while the players he's protecting will remain. |
Nihilist:Even as una dey lose, your Don King nature still dey show em sef. You can't help but to stoke the embers of a beef CODEDLY. ![]() |
Chelseafan1:You're typing with emotions. Even as a United fan, I can conveniently tell you that Fab4 will get choked in this match. He can't survive this Loserfool onslaught abeg. |
raumdeuter: ![]() |
dubylhover:That's the match I won't miss for anything. But I think Pep will win, his tactical nous will triumph at the end. He's very detailed when instructing his players. |
capricornian:If we keep up with our useless display, that pity will be on United. Arsenal always find a way to make top 4. Don't pity them. On yesterday's match, I wasnt angry that we lost (I made it very clear that IDGAF about Europa League and don't care if we win it or not), my anger and fury was that for many months of Mourinho watching us and knowing how pathetic our displays were during LvG, he's turning to be another LvG 2.0. Our play was no different from that of LVG's tenure. I'm not gonna go off on Mourinho till around March, by then I'll be constructively form my judgment about him. My objectives for Mourinho still remains - get us back to UCL and play attractive and attacking football. |
Nihilist:LOL. Finally, someone that confirms my fears. The first time I saw Dadehmola/AdisaOwala's post, I thought to myself, 'this dude's post bears an uncanny semblance to that of Cøogar'. After a week, that notion was permanently engraved in my heart. Then after Cøogar battled someone on the Battle Rap section with Dadehmola supporting him (Cøogar actually won the match though), I wanted to ask him if he's Cøogar, but stopped few seconds before asking him that. I only stopped thinking he's Cøogar's alt account after he attacked Cöogar during the Cöogar-Babe3 saga. But I still have my reservations that Dadehmola bears many traits of Coõgar way of dissing and writing. I've seen enough of Coõgar's disses to know when one is writing like him. E.g: - you're not the sharpest tool in the box - kerosene background - when the creator was sharing imtelligence/commonsense you're back of the queue. . . And missed out (something like that) - may it never be well with your blah blah blah. . . Also Coogąr always dissed people about their village paying for their school fees/educational upbringing. ![]() I strongly feel AdisaOwala is either Coogąr's alt or takes enough of his style when dissing. AdisaOwala, you be Coøgar? You both sound too familiar not to be one. ![]() BTW, Nihilist, Looserfool dey rąpe una without condom. LMFAO!! but to be fair, they will win us too. I don't see us winning them with the snail-esque display we put up yesterday. My money is on Looserfool or City to win the league. |
Lol @ you no know Rooney. Lwkmd. ![]() Clowns full this thread. ![]() |
elampiro:You and Diademk07 should read the full editorial I dropped below. It reaffirmed my earlier opinion that Mourinho is wasting Pogba's ability playing him alongside Fellani in the DM position. But the particular point I want you two to note is the quoted part. When I typed yesterday that Rooney was occupying the position of Mhiki, Mata and Co, it looked like I was hating. It turns out I was not only right, but even Pogba is another victim of Rooney's must-play syndrome. Thank God say no be me write the article. Read. . . The article is talking about Pogba. In that position - roughly the one Rooney is occupying for United for comparison’s sake - he was full of goals, he created chances and he could express himself with the ball at his feet.http://m.goal.com/s/en/news/14302/comment/2016/09/11/27391872/mourinho-role-not-letting-pogba-reach-his-potential Like I said, how Mourinho handles Rooney's conundrum will determine if he'll be successful or not, or if he'll get sacked. |
sebod:LOL. You don't understand how Airmark works. He doesn't need your team to lose in order to attack. All he needs is for the player he's on his case to flop and he comes attacking. E.g: even if Barca wins 8-0, as long as Busquets flopped in the match, Airmark is already on his case, with all the gifs of his blunders, to tell you how useless Busquet was in that match. That ninja na pest. ![]() |
airmark:Ollah1, bykebyke and dmcdad on sighting Airmark the chief Barcelona tormentor. ![]() https://zikoko.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Tiptoe.gif |
elrony:LMFAO. Debroslink right now. www.nairaland.com/attachments/4105963_39866121wjpeg2cae9357b5ce68252db75ef9b4fe68ab_jpeg_jpegf455b206504a05c7dee60dea0c70dc83 |
Lana1:Na Debroslink own pain me pass. Now he's hiding inside the closet too hurt to stomach the shame. ![]() |
AdisaOwala:True. The second-half had everything that United lacked in the first-half. We're more vibrant and urgent. I think Mourinho had the mindset of attacking City from the get-go, but Mhiki and Lingard failed him. Coz once he got rid of them, we matched City's pace for pace and pegged them back. To me, Mourinho never planned his team to defend, he only chose the wrong players at the most crucial time. As for your question, everyone on here except for Rooney fanatics want that. But the major blockage is that Mourinho can't bench Rooney. IMHO, they'd both start. We shouldn't create the mentality of using Rashford to chase goals only, we need him to interlink with Ibra and use his pace to complement Ibra who's not too pacy anymore. Rashford will be a good partner to Ibra, but unfortunately, Rooney can't be benched. |
elampiro:Oya, we don lose. Make we move on. Any positivity from today? |
eph12:Nolito and Sterling played from the DM. Lmao. Elampiro will say anything to defend Rooney. ![]() |
elampiro:The dude was everywhere. He played a free role and ran us ragged. He scored his goal from the SS position. |
