A gallant police officer identified as Oluwa Oscar Lam, has revealed how proud he is to be working in the Nigerian Police Force. The policeman who lives and works in Lagos – took to Facebook to share the below words as he compared himself with an “ordinary” civilian.

Their Day Starts by 0700hrs, but Ours by 0400hrs.

They Shake Hands, We Salute.

They Wear Gucci, We Wear Carmo/Khaki.

They Keep Their Hairs, We Cut Off Our Hairs.

They Wake Up, We Jump Up.

They walk, We Double In Divisions.

A nine-year-old girl was killed after after being bitten on the index finger by a cobra as she slept in Thailand.

Prapawee Prawat went to sleep on a mattress laid out on the concrete floor of her family home in Surat Thani, Thailand, at 7.30pm on Tuesday night.

Her family walked in on Wednesday morning to find her lifeless body lying near the deadly two-metre snake.

Prapawee’s grandmother Lung Chu, 70, walked in to wake her up but found her unresponsive wearing her yellow football shirt.

Police and rescue workers arrived and noticed a small swollen red bite mark on her finger.

They then discovered the two-metre-long cobra under the bed.

Residents battered the deadly black reptile to death before Prapawee was taken to hospital for a post-mortem examination to confirm her cause of death.

Brothers Tie And Beat Father To A Pulp For Advising Them Against Crime


A 27-year-old son, Innocent Pitman, who is standing trial for allegedly assaulting and beating up his father, was on Wednesday granted a reprieve on the orders of a Grade 1 Area Court in Karu, Abuja.

He was released on bail in the sum of N100, 000 for allegedly beating his father, Isaac Pitman.

Innocent is facing a two-count of joint act and assault which contravened Sections 79 and 265 of the Penal code.

The accused has also pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The judge, Mr Aliyu Kagarko, who gave the ruling, also granted the accused a surety in like sum.

He said the surety must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction and also submit his driving licence or national identity card as well as passport-size photographs.

Earlier, Prosecutor Mahmud Ismail ’la told the court that the father of the accused reported him at Jikwoyi Police Station on Dec. 24.

He said Pitman reported that the accused and his brother, Humprey Pitman, who is still at large, jointly assaulted him.

 The two sons of the complainant tied him and beat him so much that he was pleading with them not to harm him.

They beat him up because he warned them to stop disturbing the peace of neighborhood with their criminal acts and thereafter, the second son ran away, Ismail said.

The case was adjourned until Jan. 29 for hearing.

As of 1 January 2018, adults aged over 21 can possess up to an ounce (28 grams) of the drug and can grow up to six marijuana plants at home.
Hundreds of excited customers waited in huge lines in California as the Golden State turned a shade greener with its first sales of recreational marijuana on New Year’s Day.
California launched the world’s largest regulated commercial market for recreational marijuana on Monday, as dozens of newly licensed stores opened for business up and down the state.

A 25-year old Fulani kidnap-for-ransom kingpin, Ibrahim Umar, stunned people watching as he was being paraded among 15 others by the Nigerian Police, Tuesday.

When he disclosed that he had not only killed over ten of his kidnapped victims in recent times but also drank their blood
He equally disclosed that he hunts and kills soldiers to get their arms and uniforms for operations whenever he was in need of the items.

What stands Umar’s kidnap gang out among many others across the country is that it kills the victims even after collecting ransom from their families.

Umar, a vicious and notorious kidnap-for-ransom/armed robbery kingpin, who said he has been in the business for over two years now,

was arrested alongside his three gang members in the forest and towns along Abuja-Kaduna, and Abuja-Suleja-Minna Highway by men of the F- SARS Special Tactical Squad attached to Operation Absolute Sanity.

The husband of two wives and father of two, who gave his nickname as “Oro”, told journalists at Sabon Wuse Divisional Office of the Nigeria Police Force, venue of the parade.

That he had made fortunes worth several millions of naira from the atrocities he carried out along the highway for the past two years.

The arms and ammunition recovered from the the gang included five AK47 riffles, 1596 7.62 X 39mm AK47 ammunition, two sword & cutlasses, four pairs of suspected fake military uniform and mobile phones.\

A forty-year-old pastor identified as Samuel Hamza has committed suicide at Ungwar Romi area in the Kaduna state capital.

According to reports, Hamza who was until his death, was a pastor of a Pentecostal church in the area, hung himself on a tree and was found dangling by his neighbours on Friday night.

No one knows the reason why he committed suicide but according to neighbors, he had been depressed since losing his wife in 2015. He however did not drop any suicide note.

He was survived by a son.
