Lol, I trust.

You have any idea if N.A got the Streit Typhoon MRAP in addition to the Streit MK 3 or they instead went full throttle for the "Big Foot"?
I doubt that the Streit MRAP has entered N.A service...the MK3 on the other hand, ill say about 150 units are in full operation..troops still move around in Hilux vehicles...the Igirigi is most likely going to be our main APC anytime from now..As for the CS VP3 MRAP, quatities are still quite light...just can't wait to see the goodies from the $1bn procurement fund.

Politics / Re: How Would You Rate Nigerian Army Performance Against Boko Haram by SiriusBlack: 9:03am On Jul 19, 2014
For an army working almost entirely without air cover, and army that has to take on insurgents with the same rifles the insurgents use, an army that patrols the hordes of hell on earth in open-air vehicles, an army whose troops receive 15,000naira as combat allowance, an army who goes ino battle without a singe IFV, an army whose camps lack air surveillance, an army whose troops go into combat with 3mags per man, an army whose air force will never provide air support when they are ambushed Qoute me and tell me how I'm jus giving excuses,,,ill just ignore you...ill rate the N.A 9\10.
Capish.

Ibnsultan: Alpha jets. N mi 24 use by NAF in NE. Nigeria needs choppers capable of extracting forces frm hotzone/Lz randevous point not the use of pickup trucks that makes armbush easy
the jets in the 1st photo are not Nigerian alpha jets...in the 2nd photo, that is nt the N.E..pls verify and authenticate your photos to make sure that they are from the N.E campaign before posting...the hallmark of this thread should be the accuracy of the photos posted here.

Jakumo: By the way IbnSultan, those of us who have refrained from posting pictures in this thread out of respect for the wishes of SiriusBlack, would have still have found your contribution of photographs relevant WERE IT NOT FOR your adding that stomach-turning shot of cadavers floating alongside a military patrol boat.

Bearing in mind that Narialand is a family oriented forum, SiriusBlack has been kind enough NOT to post photographs showing dead people in various stages of dismemberment or decay, which is why your post of a macabre picture gives off a whiff of "over-sabi", whether intended or not.
Well, for the reason that I dislike keyboard conflicts, I decided not to say anything about it..but I agree with you..posting graphic photos of bloated corpses was totally wrong on the part of sultan..many peeps do not know that unlike in movies, dead bodies are very messy...physiological responses take place when people are shot, they mess themselves or have death erections..sometimes, fingers have to be hacked off, because the fingers, locked on the trigger in death, will never be easily pulled off...I hope I'm not being too graphic, but there is nothing nice about corpses....in the thread that got wiped off, I posted photos of captured insurgents and later gave in to voice of reason and deleted it..I, also have TONS of photos of dead insurgents, villagers and soldiers..but I will never post them here...We all know that BH sympathisers like Amnesty International and one Sheikh Gumi are on the prowl to discredit the army...I was tempted to post the picture of one idiot who was notorious in baga area for killing soldiers and doing horrible things to the bodies...he was tracked down by SF snipers and his face blown open by a long range sniper rifle miles away....the pic was too graphic so I did not post it...so many times, NLderd keep saying that the Army is lying when we record successes on the front ...I get so angry at times I just feel like posting bodies of bullet-riddled insurgents..including the bodies of top BH commanders, .but rage is never an excuse of wrong decisions...so thanks for pointing that out..Pls guys, do not post photos of dead bodies here

realnas: oga sirius in the second pic I can see a b10 recoilles rifle that's pretty awesome but I tot the N A uses the carl gustav rifle or is d b 10 a new addition to d frontline?
Naa..the N.A has been using the B10 since the 80s...even NDA cadets train on it during field exercises.

Screw the A-10 Warthogs. Let NAF go for the Su-25 frog foots.
Seconded!..the US will never sell A-10s to us...if they do, they will probably just fit it with only MGs...Let's get Su-25s..Its combat proven with little or no political clauses attached.

Ibnsultan: YEP. Generals don't go to the battle Front.
WRONG...The Nigerian Army's Doctrine is still British culled...Here, even Bigadier Generals sometimes follow their boys on operations..One of the Legends of the N.E campaign, Major Fambiya, was before his death, leading his men into battle..he was an SF officer, and he got many kills in his kitty for himself, Colonel Salisu too (now KIA), and some others still alive that I won't mention...did anyone notice that we have lost a lot of officers in this conflict? Here Officers always lead from the front...its just a matter of choice..I know some Brig Generals, who strip off their insignia on uniforms, and sit in the trenches with their men...I also kno of some who will never leave base...so its choice...The Nigerian Army Is one of the best in the world in terms of bravery...troops in the U.S and other counties, will NEVER agree for someone to put them in hilux vehicles to go and face AAA fire...Some months ago, Chief of Air Staff, Amosun personally led a bombing run in one of our alpha jets..so to say that Generals don't go to war? Not the Nigerian Army.

Ibnsultan: That's true I know someone who deserted his post in maiduguri. Major problem is fact that the troop feel the are only pawns in a wider conspiracy. those injured are abandon and the family of personnels killed in combat
Well, tell him not to come back, if he is caught, u know soldiers will do to him,? A 10mins Court-Martial, tie him and he will be shot.

signz:

I hope sooo. These terrorists have rpgs and A A guns

I know am a novice but isn't it better we deploy fighter jets than this helo that can be torn to shreds by bokos technicals. I mean use the money we use in buying the helos, add small money and buy a fighter jet ?

Shooting down a helo (an easier target) will have a tremendous adverse effect on the morale of the military and the general populace. With NLdrs shouting how incompetent our military is. I sincerely pray it doesn't happen
Anybody who has used an RPG-7 will tell you that shooting down a gunship with that thing is almost impossible...exceptions are if the gunship if flying unusually low...RPG-7s are HIGHLY inaccurate at long ranges...the warhead after about 100 yards, veers off on its own..AAA will likely be the main threat to the gunships..but ill be honest with you, this government is not serious...why 6 gunships? We need at least 35-50 gunships for this war...6 gunships is even just about enough for the whole maiduguri...what about troops at the real frontlines at Gwarzo, Biita, Mandara mountains, Kirenowa, Cameroonian Border axis, Chad Basins, Alagarno and the other hotspots I did not mention? 6 gunships? Is it until Aso rock is bombed that these people will rise up to their responsibilities? Brave men are dying everyday because of lack of air cover...6 gunships?..GEJ Please I'm begging you on behalf of all the good men and women on this thread...Please Sir...we need Firepower!! Not recruitment of teens to come here and die like flies..Pls Sir.
