Hello guys.
I'm currently working on a Masters application to the University of Pretoria. I'd like to know if UP offers admission w/o the SAQA certificate. I mean, do/can they allow for submission of the certificate after an applicant has been offered a place?

I look forward to your responses. Thanks.

PS. I have already e-mailed them, but I haven't heard back from them.

Actually, DHET has mandatory all SA public schools to require SAQA before applicants are guving admission but UP sometimes allows that to pass. I know of many that didn't have SAQA and they are currently on their PhD, Master or honour now.

Please can anyone help me with the best medical insurance for student. I just received my admission letter so I want to start processing my visa.

Do I need to pay insurance for the duration of my study?

Acceptable one by your school MUST be stated in your admission letter. However, Momentum ingwe is still best for foreign students. Also, you only need to pay on yearly basis.

Has anyone travelled to South Africa recently?
Did you have to undergo new covid-19 test on arrival and did you have to pay out of pocket or it was free?

There is no need for a repeat PCR test here once you have a valid test result of not more 98hrs before your arrival.

I'd like to share what my experience has been with this great house, I have been encouraged by reading successful visa applications on this platform and I think it's only necessary that I take the favour and pass it forward. I first conceived the idea of applying for the SA Critical skill visa about 3years ago but due to one reason or the other, I procrastinated the decision till August/September last year. It was at that point that I start processing the necessary documents, I started with SAQA, ICITP, documents validation/verification etc etc. After completing the necessary docs / requirements, I finally applied for the CSV on 12th November. May I also add that I didn't have any serious funds in my account, believe me, the amount in my account the day I printed my statement of account was lower than what most people have been quoting (let's leave that at that).
After the application submission at the VFS, the wait started, around mid-January, I started sending weekly emails and reminders to the SA High Commission email addresses shared on this platform.

To God be the glory, I got some emails and text messages yesterday that my passport was ready for collection. The passport got delivered to my office earlier today and I was granted a 1year Exceptional Skills permit that is extendable to 5years based on some conditions.

I decided to share this story to encourage everyone still waiting for their Visas on this platform. Good news is coming your way too.

Cheers.

Congratulations Bro

Good day my people, I have mostly been a passive user of this thread for the past few months and you guys have been on a tremendous support, that's why I want to share my success story.

I applied for my study permit on December 10th last year and i was waiting for my visa to come out on time but when it didn't come out, I emailed the two Consular emails that you guys provided on monday January 20th requesting for quick processing of my visa application. They replied me immediately that my request has been submitted few hrs later on same day.

On Tuesday January 21st, another email was sent to me that my visa application is been considered. On Wednesday, I got the email that my visa is ready. I tracked it and it was indeed ready.

My people, I picked up my visa today and I have been approved 2yrs postgraduate study permit. For who may have this questions, I'm going in for Postgraduate program in cape town, that's all I can say.

If you have applied for your Visa, especially study permit, please feel free to contact the them through that email that were provided on here two weeks ago, I'm sure you shall hear good news soon as well.

Shallom!

Waoooh....Congratulations my brother. I applied on 9th of December last year that was a day before your submission and I have sent mail to the aforementioned email addresses and yet no reply from them nor that my status have change. It is a PhD study though but I need to register by Feb 28. Please can you share me the mail you sent to them through my whatsapp number 08036278249

Thanks

*Visa Denial, Delay and Passport hostages*

Visa Facility Services Global otherwise known as VFS in-charge of visa application processing across the world has not been living up to it duty.

VFS in line with its nomenclature should be up to global standard in terms of service and operation. And this should be carried out with utmost diligence regardless of its location or territory of operation.

It is indeed an expression of dissatisfaction to note that VFS Nigeria handling visa application by Nigerian to South Africa has fallen short of global standard practices.

It worries majority of Nigerian applicants and travellers why the changes in its modus operandi in Nigeria based on the fact that;

Travel documents such as international passports are now being retained from the period of application through the processing period and decision period which since early 2019 now takes nothing less than 6 months or more. This costs lots of applicants an unprecedented trauma as they delay for months. Be that as it may, the onus of the delay and denial of application lies in the hands of the SA DHA but the bane of concerns
and worries are:

While the international passport is being held by VFS Nigeria/ DHA applicants are denied the opportunity to make use of their travel documents for another important travel plans! And other personal/ identification purposes.

The question remains:
Why is VFS Nigeria in charge of South Africa modus operandi different to other VFS in other countries?

Is this the kind of services they rendered across the globe by which they claim they have global recognition?

We wish to call the concern MDAs in Nigeria to please intervene and find an urgent solution to this unwarranted hostage of travel documents.

Please share and circulate till it reaches the necessary authorities.

We hope that it will be accorded a swift response with immediate solutions.

Thanks
