Politics / Re: Spain Evacuates Priest Who Tested Positive For Ebola In Liberia by smileandlove(f): 3:46am On Aug 07, 2014
God have mercy! And Nigerian doctors/JOHESU are here fighting. While other countries are busy looking for help for its nationals. Am sure the essence of evacuating the victim to Madrid is for close supervision and possibly try some new experiments with him. And when these countries are done, we will begin to scramble for the drugs or use oil to exchange, just as we are doing with HIV drugs. Don't know who to blame, with this attitude, Africa will continue to be dependent. The political class is the worst of it all. Oh! My heart bleeds for this continent.

Whatever happens, what I see from the doctors now is patriotism at its peak.
Besides, is better they come back now and join WHO and other experts now and learn how best to combat this virus. Because if the initial contacts (drs) with late Sawyer had known certain facts about the virus, may be they wouldn't have infected.

Food / Re: The Secret Of Losing The Sour Taste In The Tomato Stew by smileandlove(f): 6:09pm On Aug 05, 2014
farano: Wash the tomatoes and blend alongside the fresh pepper. Boil for few minutes, lets say 2 - 4 minutes , and pour the tomato paste into a sieve and allow to sieve out the water. It wouldn't leak if you pour gently.

The secret of losing the sour taste is in the sieve of the tomatoes and frying with lots of oil which could be filtered out after frying. It works perfectly for me.
I don't cook the tomatoes before seiveing it. Just blend my tomatoes, sieve it then fry with low heat with my plenty blended onion.
This saves my gas and the sour taste is gone.

Btw if you boil/fry the blended tomatoes, until it gets dry? Have you not lost all the nutrients? And it takess more time cooking the tomatoes, wasteing gas and you still lose the nutrients.

Politics / Re: Shocking! Nigeria Lost More Than Half A Million Soldiers During Biafran War by smileandlove(f): 5:22am On Aug 04, 2014
Sloan: For a long time, Ibos have lied several times and the young Ibos miseducated that all they got after the civil war was 20 pounds, each, in cash! The truth has been out there for a long time only that like Goebbels theory of propaganda, repeat a big lie all the time for a long time and people will believe it. So far, here is the summary of monies and benefits Ibos got after a war they are 100% responsible for and should have born the total cost of financing it on both sides:

1. All the allocations for the eastern states, saved for them since the beginning of the war to the end: millions of pounds

2. After the war 990,000 per month, the same that was given to other states

3. Take off / sustenance grant for the ACB (the ibo bank now gone belly up because they did not run it properly and profitably): 3.5 million pounds. Same for Bank of Eastern Nigeria. But Ibos and their elites siphoned this monies and bankrupted these entities.

4. 20 pounds extra for each ibo whether he had money before or not. Note, Ibos withdrew All their monies in Nigeria before they all moved to Biafra, liars would have you believe that if you are breaking away in a war to a new country, you go to that country empty handed while leaving your cash in an enemy country, when you know your odds of survival are close to 0. Ibos withdrew their money and all banks know that, banks that are business enterprises and their job is not to give you money because you lost yours in a wild gamble. 20 pounds of then is probably worth around N 2 M today in value.

5. This is besides the millions that Biafra soldiers looted from central bank of Nigeria in the east, millions of pounds which was transferred abroad to buy weapons. Some of those monies was rendered useless by Nigeria's master stroke tacticians but in effect Ibos took control of the money and it should be credited along with all they from the war. For more details in this read the brothers war by John St. de Joore

https://www.nairaland.com/1837325/event-break-war-how-middle/12#25174495

Details:
During the war I saw to it that the revenue which was due to the Iboland- South Eastern states they call it, at that time..east central state, I kept it, I saved the money for them. And when they ….was librated I handed over the money to them- millions. If I’d decided to do so, I could have kept the money away from them and then when they took over I saw to it that subvention was given to them at the rate of 990,000 pounds every month. I didn’t go to the executive council to ask for support, or for approval because I knew if I went to the executive council at that time the subvention would not be approved because there were more enemies in the executive council for the Ibos than friends. And since I wasn’t going to take a percentage from what I was going to give them, and I knew I was doing what was right, I wanted the state to survive, I kept on giving the subvention - 990,000 almost a million, every month, and I did that for other states of course- South eastern state, North central state, Kwara and so on.

But I did that for the Ibos, and when the war was over, I saw to it that the ACB got three and a half million pounds to start with. This was distributed immediately and I gave another sum of money. The attitude of the experts, officials at the time of the ACB was that ACB should be closed down, and I held the view you couldn’t close the ACB down because that is the bank that gives finance to the Ibo traders, and if you close it down they’ll find it difficult to revive or to survive. So it was given. I did the same thing for the Cooperative Bank of Eastern Nigeria, to rehabilitate all these places, and I saw to it as commissioner for finance that no obstacle was placed in the way of the ministry of economic planning in planning for rehabilitation of the war affected areas.
Rubbish! Where is my waste basket? So that I can dump this waste post.

As for the retired military men, my advice is that, it is good to have 'foresight'. But your younger generation is making the same mistake.

I know he's not going to sack the 'main boss'. Thought this present minister was there, when GEJ sacked the former directors/ceos and replaced them with these once.

Every fish rots from the head. Don't know why he keeps sacking the tail? Leaving the head. Former education minister, CBN,NPC comes to mind even aviation. Why didn't they get the same treatment.

I suspect, these where the people diezani told GEJ that were giving sanusi information. Or to boost 2015 agenda. My thinking anyway!

if GEJ can take that advice and sit down, simply concentrate in solving our problem at hand now, Obama will envy him. Did you notice the number of persons in his entourage? For a leadership summit?. I think Obama refused that secret meeting because the shots will simply be used for campaigns. BTW what leadership summit are we talking here? Do we have leadership and bombs are flying every where. And no sponsor of BH named for all these years. Don't care who bokoharams are whether APC or PDP, what Nigerias want is name the sponsors and take decisive actions against them. By this, he will earn every Nigerians surpport. Instead of going for leadership class now.

zicoraads: Forget the #BringBackOurGirls campaigners. The bitter truth is, those girls are gone for good. The Airforce should give notice to the surrounding villlages around Sambisa to evacuate, then decimate every tree, animal, lizard, ant that moves in Sambisa, especially along that Maiduguri, Yobe axis. Level everything.

Those girls are gone, let's face reality.
this is the ugly truth! And the earlier they do it the better. From all indications BH is moving their base into towns and villages. BTW is the forest close to kano? That means they are in people's homes. May God help us.

What is wrong with these policy makers? We have a valid drivers license that, should be allowd to expire and then you will be issued with the new whatever. But they said no we must get the e-license. Now another e-passport even when you have an exiting e-passport that has not expired but was duely paid for. How sure are we that this one will not be changed before it expires. Anyway don't blame them GEJ and Sambo has possed for the e-pictures free while other Nigerias will go and pay whatever amount they will charge you at their various offices. This is all lies. PHCN employed 1000 workers and sacked 5000, who is fooling who with this privatisation. Look around you the new owners are sacking the workers and yet collect high tariffs to maximise profit. Was at Adageorge service office PH a week ago to sort my bill issue. The manager told me that, is only him and one other guy that is left now as engineers to take care of the whole area. While the few field workers were given targets to meet, hence your having high bills.

Why is the hospital under presure to release the man. Sounds as if he was on a mission to infect Nigerians. Was there no symptoms of the disease before the man left his country? And who was asking for his release from the hospital where he was quarantined. Am sure the hospital tentionally did the needfull the moment they confirmed it was ebola, because there is no way they will allow him roam the streets of calabar in the name of ecowas meeting and go back.

Ngige will do himself and his constituency a lot of good by retracing his step away from the Islamic APC.

APC has vowed to persecute and marginalize parts of the country merely out of religious bigotry.
Anyhow, just like ISIS and Islamic brotherhood parties in Iraq and Egypt were formed to kill and marginalize Christians, but ended up also killing Muslims, so will the APC. Their Boko Haram armed wing is already targeting their key sponsors and facilitators with bomb blasts. grin

Those that plot evil against other people are often consumed by the same evil they plotted and supported.
Nuff said.
