Oga your level of faith is different from that of others. Wallahi no matter how you follow up if Allah didn't destined you with the job no connection and follow up will give you. There's a saying in my dialet "Zafin nema bai kawo samu".."It is not your over searching that will make you to hit your target ". In fact my course mate's cv got to the presence of Buhari's hand direct and he handed over the cv to Tunde Sabiu but my friend couldn't get a job through presidency but through his father in law who is not a politician. Wallahi no witches or witchcraft can stop your destiny, it is only Allah that can change and unchange. If it is follow up and connect that gives job then majority of us here would have gotten job.
May Allah pick our calls all..Aameen

Do not loose hope in the Mercy of Allah

Job in this country is by luck, it is only when Allah pick your call that you can be 100% sure. Even with connection sometimes you will face disappointments. I can vividly recall that I was 100% sure of getting a job in the last Buhari government but as Allah wish the current government disconnected me from my connect by removing the head of the agency and I am a graduate of over 10yrs without job, do I have option than to still keep hoping in Allah?!. On a serious note, some of the heads of agency's hands were tied while some were left untied especially the income generating agencies. This is a sincere response from a head of an agency to me when I sent him a farewell message upon his removal and I am completely sure he's saying this from button of his heart. Please when connecting also try to connect with Allah. Secondly, please don't buy job on a faceless forum, they are all fake. Nobody should convince you with information in the name of him having connect to sell you job, they are all scams. Just think with your head na, somebody who will come to sell connection or slot on a faceless forum is he trying to tell us there are no jobless graduates in his entire family, friends and his paternal and maternal villages? Some of them will be very friendly on the forum but using another moniker to scam innocent job seekers and even using social engineering method to papetrate their heinous act of scamming. In this 21 century let's all be wise please. Don't allow joblessness to push you into falling victim please.

One day I will start calling names here.

May Allah answer all our prayers and give us beneficial jobs whether with or without connect..Aameen! Good night mates.

Reviving Nigeria's National Shipping Line: Paving the Way for Economic Transformation

Author: Abdullahi Musa Yaro

The proposed revival of Nigeria's National Shipping Line under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu showcases the government's commitment to revitalizing the nation's maritime industry. This ambitious plan holds the potential to bring about a transformative impact on Nigeria's economy, facilitating international trade, job creation, and positioning the country as a prominent player in the global maritime arena. While the revival of the National Shipping Line presents exciting prospects, it is essential to examine the challenges that may arise during its implementation.

The Implications for Nigeria's Economy:
The revival of the National Shipping Line, spearheaded by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, is expected to yield far-reaching benefits for Nigeria's economy. Firstly, it will significantly enhance the country's participation in international trade. By reinstating a national shipping line, Nigeria can regain control over its maritime transport, reduce reliance on foreign carriers, and strengthen its position in global trade. This will lead to increased revenue generation, improved trade balance, and heightened competitiveness on the international stage.

Secondly, the revival of the National Shipping Line will act as a key catalyst for job creation and employment opportunities. The maritime industry has the potential to generate a substantial number of direct and indirect jobs, ranging from seafarers and shipbuilders to logistics professionals and administrative staff. This boost in employment will contribute to reducing unemployment rates, alleviating poverty, and fostering economic growth across various sectors.

Furthermore, the revival of the National Shipping Line will encourage the development of ancillary industries. Shipbuilding, repair and maintenance, maritime education and training, and other related sectors will experience growth and expansion. This will attract foreign investment, promote technological advancements, and facilitate knowledge transfer, positioning Nigeria as a regional hub for maritime activities. Moreover, the development of coastal communities will be stimulated, leading to enhanced socio-economic conditions in these areas.

Challenges to Overcome:
While the vision to revive the National Shipping Line is commendable, it is essential to address the potential challenges that may emerge during the process. The following are key obstacles that must be effectively managed:

1. Financial Considerations: Establishing a competitive national shipping line demands substantial financial resources. The government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, must ensure the availability of adequate funding and explore partnerships with private investors to finance vessel acquisition or leasing, port infrastructure development, and operational costs.

2. Infrastructure Development: Nigeria's maritime infrastructure requires significant improvements to accommodate the demands of a national shipping line. Upgrading and expanding port facilities, dredging channels, and establishing efficient intermodal transportation networks are crucial for seamless operations and smooth cargo movement.

3. Competitiveness and Efficiency: To compete with established international shipping lines, the National Shipping Line must prioritize operational efficiency, technology adoption, and adherence to international standards. Robust training programs, capacity building initiatives, and the implementation of best practices across the organization will be essential in this regard.

4. Policy and Regulatory Framework: Streamlining maritime policies, enhancing regulatory frameworks, and eliminating bureaucratic hurdles are critical to creating an enabling environment for the National Shipping Line's success. The government should prioritize the enactment of favorable legislation, promote transparency, and establish effective governance mechanisms.

In conclusion, the proposed revival of Nigeria's National Shipping Line under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu holds immense promise for the country's maritime sector and the overall economy. The revival of the National Shipping Line represents a significant step towards harnessing Nigeria's maritime potential and driving economic growth. By establishing a competitive shipping line, Nigeria can leverage its abundant resources, enhance international trade, create employment opportunities, and stimulate the growth of ancillary industries. However, the government must address the challenges of financing, infrastructure, competitiveness, and regulatory frameworks to ensure the success of this ambitious endeavor. With proper planning, strategic partnerships, and diligent execution.

Nigeria's Political Elites: A Festive Display of Greed Amidst Citizen's Misery.

By Abdullahi Musa Yaro

As the holiday season nears, disturbing rumors have surfaced about Nigerian Senators and members of the House of Representatives planning to distribute over 104 billion naira, discreetly padded into the recently approved supplementary budget, as lavish Christmas gifts to themselves. If these rumors hold any truth, it is a despicable act that lays bare the egregious disconnect between Nigeria's political elite and the excruciating struggles endured by its citizens in this harsh economic climate.

At a time when millions of Nigerians are grappling with poverty, food insecurity, and the daily grind of survival, the news of such a self-serving windfall is a stark reminder of the gross indifference shown by our elected officials. It is an affront to the principles of justice, fairness, and compassion that should underpin our nation's governance.

While our representatives bask in the warmth of opulence and privilege, the majority of Nigerians are left to endure the hardships of a harsh economy that denies them even three square meals a day. This brazen display of greed and insensitivity underscores a disturbing truth: our leaders have lost touch with the daily realities faced by ordinary citizens.

If these rumors prove true, it is imperative for the impoverished Nigerian citizens to respond with unity and determination. First and foremost, we must voice our collective outrage and condemnation of this act of greed. We cannot allow our leaders to indulge in excess while the people they serve suffer. We must demand accountability and transparency in the allocation and utilization of public funds.

The plight of the poor Nigerian citizens should serve as a rallying cry for change. We must actively engage in the democratic process, holding our representatives accountable for their actions. By voting responsibly and supporting candidates who genuinely prioritize the welfare of the people, we can begin to reshape the landscape of Nigerian politics.

Moreover, we must mobilize and demand systemic reforms that promote social justice and economic inclusivity. This includes robust anti-corruption measures, equitable resource distribution, and targeted social welfare programs. We must urge our representatives to redirect funds towards poverty alleviation, job creation, and investment in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

Additionally, it is crucial to foster a culture of citizen activism and civic participation. Nigerian citizens must organize and advocate for policies that address the underlying causes of poverty and inequality. Grassroots movements, civil society organizations, and community-based initiatives can play a pivotal role in raising awareness, demanding change, and holding both leaders and institutions accountable.

If these rumors of a massive Christmas windfall for politicians hold any truth, it is a distressing reflection of the state of our nation. However, adversity often serves as a catalyst for change. Let us seize this moment to challenge the status quo, demand justice, and work towards a Nigeria where the interests of the people are at the forefront of governance.

The poor Nigerian citizens should seek alliances with civil society organizations, advocacy groups, and other like-minded individuals to amplify their voices. Together, they can organize peaceful protests, engage in advocacy campaigns, and use social media platforms to raise awareness about the gross disparities and demand immediate action.

Furthermore, the citizenry should explore legal avenues to challenge any misuse of public funds and hold the perpetrators accountable. This may involve collaborating with legal experts, whistleblowers, and anti-corruption agencies to investigate and expose any malfeasance.

At the same time, the poor Nigerian citizens should focus on empowering themselves through education, skill-building, and entrepreneurship. By acquiring knowledge and developing marketable skills, they can enhance their employability and create sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their communities.

Additionally, community solidarity and support networks are crucial. Poor Nigerians should come together to share resources, collaborate on income-generating activities, and provide mutual assistance in times of need. By fostering a sense of solidarity, they can create a safety net that mitigates the impact of the harsh economic conditions.

Ultimately, the poor Nigerian citizens must not lose hope. They possess the power to effect change through collective action, resilience, and determination. By channeling their frustrations into constructive efforts to address the root causes of inequality, they can create a more equitable and just Nigeria for future generations.

Lastly, we must not lose hope. As Nigerians, we possess resilience and a deep-rooted desire for a better future. We must leverage this collective spirit to effect tangible change. By supporting one another, fostering community-driven solutions, and uplifting the most vulnerable among us, we can build a more equitable and prosperous Nigeria.

In conclusion, if the rumors of Nigerian senators and members of the House of Representatives sharing billions of naira as Christmas gifts are true, it is a damning indictment of the state of our nation, it is incumbent upon us as citizens to denounce such a callous act. We must mobilize, demand accountability, and push for the structural changes needed to address the deep-rooted inequalities within our society.
However, it also serves as a wake-up call for the citizens to unite, demand accountability, and work towards a Nigeria where the welfare of its people is prioritized. Together, we can build a society where every Nigerian has the opportunity to thrive and prosper.

Misplaced Priorities: Lagos' Extravagant Spending in Dire Times

By Abdullahi Musa Yaro

Date: November 20, 2023

In a time when the citizens of Lagos State are grappling with the hardships of a harsh economy, it is disheartening to learn about the recent approval of extravagant spending by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Allocating ₦73.1 million for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu's portrait and ₦44 million for vegetables is a clear example of misplaced priorities and a disregard for the pressing needs of the people. Such reckless spending not only highlights a lack of empathy but also undermines the trust and faith the citizens have placed in their leaders.

The economic challenges faced by the people of Lagos State are numerous and should be the primary concern of the government. The high cost of living, unemployment, inadequate infrastructure, and limited access to quality healthcare and education are just a few of the pressing issues that demand immediate attention. It is inconceivable that in the face of such hardships, the government would approve such exorbitant expenditures that offer no tangible benefits to the citizens.

Allocating ₦73.1 million for a portrait of a prominent political figure is both excessive and unnecessary. While recognizing the contributions of leaders to society is important, it should never come at the expense of the people's well-being. The funds allocated for this purpose could have been better utilized to address the dire needs of the state. For instance, investing in job creation programs, improving healthcare facilities, or providing quality education would have a far-reaching and positive impact on the lives of Lagosians.

Similarly, the allocation of ₦44 million for vegetables is an egregious example of fiscal irresponsibility. While a balanced diet is crucial for a healthy population, it is unjustifiable to allocate such a significant amount of money solely for this purpose. Instead, the funds could have been channeled towards initiatives that promote agricultural development, such as providing farmers with improved agricultural inputs, supporting agribusinesses, or implementing programs to enhance food security.

Lagos State, as Nigeria's economic hub, should lead by example, demonstrating prudence and responsible governance. The current economic climate demands that every penny be spent judiciously, taking into account the urgent needs of the people. It is imperative that the government reevaluates its spending priorities and redirects resources to sectors that will have a direct impact on poverty alleviation, job creation, and sustainable development.

Rather than squandering millions of naira on unnecessary endeavors, the government should prioritize investments in critical areas. Some alternative areas of importance that warrant urgent attention include:

1. Infrastructure Development: Allocate funds to repair and maintain existing infrastructure, improve road networks, expand public transportation systems, and provide reliable power supply. These investments will enhance productivity, attract investment, and improve the overall quality of life for residents.

2. Education and Skills Development: Invest in quality education, vocational training, and entrepreneurship programs to equip citizens with the necessary skills to compete in the job market and foster innovation and economic diversification.

3. Healthcare Services: Enhance healthcare infrastructure, equip hospitals and clinics with modern facilities, and ensure the availability of affordable and accessible healthcare services for all residents.

4. Job Creation and Empowerment: Implement initiatives that encourage entrepreneurship, provide access to capital, and promote the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises. This will foster economic independence, reduce unemployment, and alleviate poverty.

5. Social Welfare Programs: Allocate funds to support vulnerable populations, including the provision of social safety nets, healthcare subsidies, and assistance programs for the elderly, disabled individuals, and single-parent households. This will ensure that basic needs are met, and the most marginalized members of society receive the necessary support.

6. Environmental Conservation: Invest in sustainable development projects, renewable energy sources, waste management systems, and initiatives to combat pollution and preserve the natural resources of Lagos State. This will contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment for current and future generations.

7. Security and Law Enforcement: Allocate resources to enhance security measures, improve police infrastructure, and provide training for law enforcement personnel. This will create a safer environment for residents and promote the rule of law.

8. Youth Development: Implement programs that empower and engage the youth through sports, arts, and cultural initiatives, as well as vocational training and mentorship programs. Investing in the youth will foster their potential, reduce social vices, and create a more vibrant and productive society.

It is high time for the government of Lagos State to prioritize the needs and aspirations of its citizens over extravagant and unnecessary spending. The allocation of ₦73.1 million for a portrait and ₦44 million for vegetables is a clear reflection of a lack of empathy and fiscal responsibility. The people of Lagos State deserve better. It is imperative that the government reevaluates its spending decisions and redirects resources towards sectors that will truly uplift the lives of its residents. By doing so, the government can restore the faith and trust of the people and steer Lagos State towards a brighter and more prosperous future.

The Aftermath of President Tinubu's Participation in the Berlin G20 Conference: A Step Forward for Nigeria

By Abdullahi Musa Yaro

As President Tinubu, the esteemed leader of Nigeria, arrived in Berlin to attend the G20 Conference, hopes were high for his diplomatic endeavors to propel our nation forward. The international stage provided an opportunity to strengthen Nigeria's position in the global community, foster bilateral partnerships, and address key global challenges. Now, as we reflect on the aftermath of the conference, it is crucial to evaluate the outcomes and determine the extent to which President Tinubu's participation will benefit our nation.

First and foremost, President Tinubu's presence at the G20 Conference signifies Nigeria's commitment to global cooperation and its recognition as a significant player in international affairs. This participation demonstrates a proactive approach to addressing global challenges, showcasing Nigeria's capability to contribute to solutions that benefit not only our nation but also the rest of the world. By engaging with world leaders, President Tinubu will provide a platform for Nigeria's voice to be heard and its interests to be represented constructively.

Moreover, the Berlin G20 Conference will offer an invaluable opportunity for President Tinubu to engage in bilateral meetings and negotiations with other world leaders. Through these interactions, Nigeria can forge strategic alliances and deepen economic and diplomatic ties with key nations. The outcomes of these discussions may lead to increased foreign direct investment, technology transfers, and enhanced cooperation in sectors crucial to Nigeria's development, such as infrastructure, agriculture, and energy. Such partnerships can catalyze economic growth, create employment opportunities, and ultimately improve the standard of living for the Nigerian people.

Additionally, the Berlin G20 Conference will focus on critical global issues such as climate change, healthcare, and security. President Tinubu's active participation in these discussions will enables Nigeria to assert its stance on these matters, contribute to shaping global policies, and gain access to global funding and initiatives aimed at addressing these challenges. By championing Nigeria's interests while also promoting global collaboration, President Tinubu has positioned our nation as a responsible global citizen that is committed to sustainable development and ensuring a better future for all.

However, it is essential to acknowledge that the true impact of the Berlin G20 Conference on Nigeria will be measured in the post-conference period. The success of President Tinubu's participation will depend on the effective implementation of the commitments made, the follow-up actions taken, and the incorporation of the conference outcomes into Nigeria's domestic policies. It is imperative that the Nigerian government remains committed to translating the lessons and agreements from the conference into tangible actions that benefit the Nigerian people.

Furthermore, the Nigerian public has a crucial role to play in holding President Tinubu and his administration accountable for the promises made during the Berlin G20 Conference. Transparency and regular communication regarding the progress made will foster trust and ensure that the outcomes are aligned with Nigeria's national interests.

In conclusion, President Tinubu's participation in the Berlin G20 Conference will hold great potential for Nigeria's progress and development. The conference has provided a platform to showcase Nigeria's capabilities, forge strategic alliances, and address global challenges. However, the true impact will depend on the commitment of the Nigerian government to translate the outcomes into actionable policies and the vigilance of the Nigerian public in holding their leaders accountable. As we move forward, let us remain optimistic and actively engage in shaping Nigeria's future, leveraging the opportunities presented by the Berlin G20 Conference to build a better nation for all.

Unmasking Terrorism Financiers: A Crucial Imperative for National Security

By Abdullahi Musa Yaro

Re: FG Will Not Name, Shame Terrorism Financiers - AGF, Lateef Fagbemi

In a recent statement, the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, declared that the Federal Government will not name and shame terrorism financiers. Such a stance is deeply concerning and poses a significant threat to national security. The identification and exposure of terrorism financiers are indispensable in the fight against terrorism, and the government's decision to refrain from this crucial measure is a disservice to the Nigerian people.

Terrorism is a grave menace that continues to plague our nation, causing untold suffering and destabilizing entire communities. It is imperative for the government to adopt a comprehensive and multifaceted approach to counter this menace effectively. While military operations and intelligence gathering are vital, exposing and prosecuting terrorism financiers is equally crucial.

Naming and shaming terrorism financiers serve various essential purposes. Firstly, it acts as a powerful deterrent. By publicly revealing the identities of those who fund terrorism, we send a clear message that there will be severe consequences for supporting such heinous acts. This dissuades potential financiers and disrupts their illicit activities, cutting off a vital lifeline for terrorist organizations.

Secondly, identifying terrorism financiers aids in dismantling their networks. Terrorism is not an isolated act but a complex web of interconnected individuals and organizations. By exposing financiers, we unravel these networks, allowing law enforcement agencies to track down and apprehend those responsible for funding terrorism. This significantly weakens the operational capabilities of terrorist groups and impedes their ability to plan and execute attacks.

Furthermore, naming and shaming terrorism financiers helps to restore public trust in the government's commitment to combating terrorism. Transparency is key in fostering a partnership between the government and its citizens. When the government demonstrates its willingness to expose those who support terrorism, it shows its determination to safeguard the welfare and security of the people.

Contrary to concerns about potential legal repercussions, the government has the necessary legal framework to ensure that naming and shaming terrorism financiers is carried out within the bounds of due process. The Anti-Terrorism Act and other relevant legislation provide the tools to investigate, prosecute, and convict those involved in financing terrorism. By utilizing these legal mechanisms, the government can strike a balance between protecting national security and upholding the rule of law.

It is also essential to acknowledge the international dimension of terrorism financing. Nigeria is part of a global community committed to combating terrorism. By naming and shaming terrorism financiers, we demonstrate our commitment to international cooperation in countering terrorism. This enhances our credibility on the global stage and strengthens collaboration with other nations in intelligence sharing, asset freezing, and extradition procedures.

The argument that naming and shaming terrorism financiers will jeopardize ongoing investigations is flawed. While it is crucial to maintain operational secrecy in certain cases, this should not hinder the overall strategy of exposing and prosecuting those responsible for financing terrorism. Law enforcement agencies can selectively disclose information about financiers without compromising intelligence sources or ongoing investigations. Effective coordination and information-sharing mechanisms among relevant agencies will ensure that vital intelligence is protected while still advancing the cause of transparency.

In conclusion, the decision of the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, to withhold the naming and shaming of terrorism financiers is counterproductive to our efforts in combating terrorism. By refusing to expose those who fund terrorism, we undermine the effectiveness of our counterterrorism measures and jeopardize national security. The identification and exposure of terrorism financiers are essential components of a comprehensive strategy to combat terrorism.

The government must reconsider its stance and recognize the significance of naming and shaming terrorism financiers. This action will serve as a powerful deterrent, dismantle terrorist networks, restore public trust, and demonstrate our commitment to international cooperation in countering terrorism. It is time for the government to prioritize the safety and security of its citizens by taking decisive action against those who provide financial support to terrorist organizations.

The Nigerian people deserve a government that is unrelenting in its pursuit of justice and the protection of their lives and properties. It is only by naming and shaming terrorism financiers that we can send a resounding message that terrorism will not be tolerated, and those who support it will face the full force of the law. Let us stand united in our resolve to combat terrorism and build a safer and more secure Nigeria for future generations.

How true is this? I just came across the writeup somewhere...

Your fellow Southerner is in a position to give you employment.

You go to him for employment.

You speak good English and write an excellent application letter to impress him.

He tells you to bring your credentials.

You bring your First Degree (First Class or second class).

He tells you to go and do your Masters and even PhD for you to get the job.

ON THE OTHER HAND

A Northerner is in a position to give employment.

An Hausa Man goes to him.

He speaks Hausa to him.

He tells him to bring his qualifications.

He brings a third class degree or an SSCE with two Credits.

He gets the job and saves money to further his education.

He gets a Masters Degree while doing the job.

Tomorrow, he is appointed as Executive Director.

Ten years Later, he becomes Chairman or DG of the Agency.

The Southerner sees this and hates on the Hausa Man.

He accuses him of nepotism.

But that's not nepotism.

That's communalism.

Southerners must understand the difference between nepotism and communalism.

Helping your Brother to succeed is not nepotism.

Southerners just need to learn how to love one another like Northerners do.

Stop hiding opportunities from your people.

Northerners do not hide opportunities from their people.

Help a brother get a Job today, show opportunities.

Don't talk Love, just show it. Don't tear the appllication of a brother who puts the trust of his life in your hand. He might be the one to save you when your trouble comes in that very office.

This a sad reality that we are all facing.

By Abdullahi Musa Yaro
Abuja, November 18, 2023.

As the dust settles on the hotly contested gubernatorial elections in Kogi State, Bayelsa State, and Imo State, the three victorious candidates, Mr. Ododo, Mr. Diri, and Mr. Uzodinma, have posed with their Certificate of Return, signifying their election as Governors. With this significant milestone achieved, the citizens of their respective states eagerly await the commencement of their leadership tenures and wonder what lies ahead.

In Kogi State, the election victory of Mr. Ododo has generated a sense of optimism among the populace. The state faces numerous challenges, including inadequate infrastructure, unemployment, and a struggling economy. As Governor-elect, Mr. Ododo must prioritize these issues to ensure the well-being and progress of the state. The citizens eagerly anticipate his plans for job creation, infrastructure development, and the promotion of socio-economic opportunities for all. It is essential for Mr. Ododo to swiftly translate his campaign promises into actionable plans that address the pressing needs of the people.

In Bayelsa State, the election victory of Mr. Diri marks a turning point in the state's political landscape. The citizens expect him to focus on restoring peace and stability, especially after the recent political upheaval. Mr. Diri must work to bridge the gaps created by the election process and foster reconciliation among various factions. Additionally, he must tackle pressing issues such as education, healthcare, and agriculture. The citizens await his strategies to improve the education sector, provide accessible healthcare services, and boost agricultural productivity to enhance food security and economic growth.

Meanwhile, in Imo State, Mr. Uzodinma's triumph has raised both hopes and concerns among the citizens. The state faces significant security challenges, with incidences of armed conflicts and unknown gun men on the rise. The Governor-elect must prioritize the restoration of peace and security across the state. Collaborating with security agencies, Mr. Uzodinma should design comprehensive strategies to curb criminal activities and safeguard the lives and property of the citizens. Furthermore, attention must be given to reviving the state's economy, promoting investment, and creating job opportunities to address the high unemployment rate.

Beyond these specific challenges, all the three newly elected governors must prioritize good governance, transparency, and accountability. The citizens are eager to witness a departure from the era of corruption and mismanagement, with a renewed focus on efficient service delivery and prudent management of resources. It is crucial for the governors-elect to actively engage citizens, solicit their input, and foster participatory governance in decision-making processes.

To realize the aspirations of their respective states, the governors-elect must form capable and inclusive executive teams. They should appoint individuals with expertise, integrity, and a genuine commitment to public service. By assembling competent cabinets, the governors-elect will be better positioned to tackle the multifaceted issues confronting their states.

In conclusion, the citizens of Kogi State, Bayelsa State, and Imo State eagerly anticipate the commencement of the tenures of Mr. Ododo, Mr. Diri, and Mr. Uzodinma as governors-elect. The challenges faced by each state are significant, requiring focused leadership, strategic planning, and effective implementation of policies. The citizens hope to see tangible improvements in areas such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, and job creation. The governors-elect must seize this opportunity to fulfill their campaign promises and address the pressing needs of their respective states.

As the citizens closely watch the actions of their newly elected leaders, they also have a role to play in holding them accountable. Active civic participation, constructive engagement, and providing feedback on government policies and programs will contribute to a healthy and vibrant democracy.

The journey ahead may not be without its challenges, but with strong leadership, collaboration, and a shared vision for progress, the citizens of Kigi State, Bayelsa State, and Imo State can look forward to a brighter future under the stewardship of their governors-elect.

It is now up to Mr. Ododo, Mr. Diri, and Mr. Uzodinma to translate their promises into impactful actions that address the aspirations and needs of their respective states. The citizens eagerly await the next steps taken by their governors-elect as they embark on the task of transforming their states for the better.

PhonesRe: Telecom Operators Plan Increase In Tariffs by Sog2: 12:55pm On Nov 17, 2023
A Plea for Consideration: Halting the Increase in Telecom Tariff Charges

Author: Abdullahi Musa Yaro

As Nigeria faces economic challenges and strives towards technological advancement, the recent announcement by the Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) regarding a potential increase in telecom tariff charges is a cause for concern. It is crucial to emphasize the importance of affordable and accessible communication services, particularly considering the current economic situation that Nigerians are enduring. In this article, we make a heartfelt plea to ALTON to reconsider this decision and take into account the hardships faced by the Nigerian populace.

The Significance of Affordable Telecom Services

Telecommunications services have become an integral part of our daily lives, connecting individuals, businesses, and communities across the globe. In Nigeria, the telecom sector has played a pivotal role in fostering economic growth, promoting social inclusion, and driving innovation. However, it is vital to strike a balance between sustaining the telecom sector's growth and ensuring that the services remain affordable and accessible to all.

The Current Economic Landscape

Nigeria, like many other nations, is grappling with economic challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with inflationary pressures, unemployment, and reduced purchasing power, has placed a significant burden on the Nigerian people. Many citizens are struggling to make ends meet, and any further increase in telecom tariffs would exacerbate their financial hardships.

The Role of Telecommunications in Economic Development

Affordable and accessible telecommunications services are essential for fostering economic development. They enable businesses to thrive, attract investments, drive innovation, and create employment opportunities. By increasing telecom tariffs, we risk impeding the growth and progress of various sectors of the economy, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which are the backbone of Nigeria's economy.

Digital Inclusion and Socioeconomic Impact

Nigeria has made commendable progress in bridging the digital divide and promoting digital inclusion. However, any increase in telecom tariffs would hinder these efforts. As we strive towards achieving a digitally inclusive society, it is crucial to make communication services accessible to all, especially marginalized communities, rural areas, and economically disadvantaged individuals. Telecom services have the power to uplift communities, provide access to critical information, and enhance education, healthcare, and governance systems.

ALTON's Role in Nurturing Sustainable Growth

As the representative body for licensed telecommunications operators in Nigeria, ALTON plays a vital role in shaping the future of the sector. It is essential for ALTON to consider the long-term consequences of increasing telecom tariff charges. Sustainable growth must be prioritized over short-term gains. By maintaining affordable tariffs, ALTON can contribute to the overall well-being of Nigerians, foster social inclusion, and promote economic stability.

Seeking a Collaborative Approach

We understand the challenges faced by ALTON and the need to maintain a sustainable telecom sector. However, we appeal to the association to adopt a collaborative approach that takes into account the current economic realities of Nigerians. Rather than burdening the populace with increased tariffs, we encourage ALTON to explore alternative solutions, such as cost optimization, operational efficiency, and innovative revenue models.
In conclusion, we implore ALTON to reconsider its decision to increase telecom tariff charges. The current economic situation in Nigeria demands compassion, empathy, and a commitment to the well-being of the people. By maintaining affordable and accessible telecom services, ALTON can contribute to Nigeria's socioeconomic development and foster digital inclusion. Let us work together towards a brighter future, where telecommunications services continue to empower Nigerians, bridge the digital divide, and drive economic growth. It is our hope that ALTON will heed this plea and prioritize the interests of the Nigerian people, considering the hardships they are currently enduring. By embracing a collaborative approach and exploring alternative strategies, we can ensure that the telecom sector remains sustainable while safeguarding the affordability and accessibility of essential communication services.

In these challenging times, unity and empathy are crucial. Let us stand together in advocating for fair and affordable telecom tariffs, enabling every Nigerian to stay connected, informed, and empowered.

Sometimes it is good to keep quiet if someone has no knowledge about certain things. Even some EFCC workers here in the thread are just laughing some of us during this argument. Wey flenty people left EFCC for NCC...hmmm! Abeg Nadiya just follow your conviction and pray Allah bless whichever one He chooses for you.

NCC dey pay abt 80-100k d last i checkd to corp mmbrs.
U don finish tlk. Last year my friend pursue NCC with 7.5m + agent fee e no still wrk out aftr someone over take him wit 9M🤣🤣

NCC salary be arnd 350-450 for non ICT, dem hide every mad money in allowance. D allowance na EFCC salary fr 3yrs or more than sef😅😅

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Monthly Net Salary Of Federal Government Ministries, departaments, Agencies And P by Sog2: 1:00pm On Oct 25, 2023
Please just say what you know, it is only someone who doesn't know the in and out of NCC that will choose EFCC above NCC. My friend lost 10.8m naira trying to get into NCC, my course mate held 3m naira looking for NCC but to no avail. In fact I repeat EFCC is not in number one to five of the best A agencies in the country. Yes you may be a staff of EFCC and know their salary but just walk down to their annex close to your headquarters in Abuja Jabi airport Road and ask a straightforward staff there of their total monthly packages and you will be shocked. Please how much is NCC and EFCC paying Corp members monthly? Just want to know!

freshyabstel:
Wrong my brother; EFCC is one of the best agencies to work in this country. Their DI’s (that is SSCE holders level) earn over 250k monthly, I’m speaking with fact, their allowance is mad! I can’t even compare NCC with EFCC with the knowledge I have about both agencies.

NCC is just overhyped, I have friends who work their and I know how they complain, some of them even leave for NIMASA, EFCC etc.

The only advantage that NCC has over EFCC is lesser risk. NCC has lesser or no risk as against EFCC, on the other hand, EFCC welfare package is far better and the chow chow there is too much, they are exposed to so many generational wealth making opportunities for those that want to compromise, (which is very wrong to) however, the bad eggs amongst them still get entangled in shady deals, so just forget it.

Imagine an ex-governor giving a director N5billion to avert probing of 50bn that he stole, those are the kind of possible activities you’ll see there. I know this act is wrong and totally unacceptable, no staff of the commission should be found guilty of such if we want to truly eradicate corruption and make Nigeria a great nation.

This New chairman Olukoyede has instructed all senior staff from level 17 downwards to declare their assets, this is very good, to weed out the bad eggs amongst them, he also promised to increase their welfare package, to deter them from compromising .

Overall, EFCC is better than NCC.

Don't be carried away by the figures you're seeing on nairaland, please go for NCC anytime anywhere. EFCC isn't in the first five A list agencies FYI. PLEASE GO FOR NCC and thank God later.

Nadeeyah:
Please someone should help me with this answer. Between NCC and EFCC, which is a better choice. Not just about money but working conditions too.
Nairaland GeneralWike...you're Not The First To Be The Minister Of FCT by Sog2(op): 4:20am On Oct 20, 2023
Re: A Plea for Consideration and Respect for Citizens' Livelihoods in Abuja

Dear Honorable Minister of Abuja, Barrister Wike.

I hope this letter finds you well and in good health. As a concerned citizen and resident of the Capital Territory (FCT), I feel compelled to write to you today to express my deep concern regarding the recent threats of demolition issued to the citizens of Abuja. While I acknowledge the challenges faced in managing urban development and ensuring adherence to regulations, I respectfully appeal to you to approach this matter with empathy, understanding, and a consideration for the livelihoods of all those who call Abuja their home.

At the outset, I would like to remind you that you are not the first person to hold the esteemed position of Minister of the FCT. Many before you have grappled with the complexities of development, urbanization, and maintaining the balance between progress and the preservation of the city's heritage and community. Some have made decisions that had unintended consequences, with negative effects on the ordinary citizens of Abuja.

The threat of demolition is a source of immense anxiety among the residents, as it poses a direct threat to their homes, businesses, and, most importantly, their sense of security and belonging. Displacing individuals and families from their established communities can have devastating consequences, including economic hardship, psychological distress, and a disruption in children's education.

I implore you to reflect on the lives that will be affected by such drastic actions. Many citizens have invested significant time, money, and effort in establishing themselves and contributing to the growth of Abuja. These individuals are not reckless squatters or encroachers; they are responsible, hardworking people who have made Abuja their home through legal means.

Rather than resorting to the destructive measure of demolition, I urge you to consider alternative solutions that balance the need for development with the well-being of the people. Relocating individuals and businesses to designated areas or providing assistance in regularizing their status could help strike a middle ground that addresses the concerns of urban planning while respecting the dignity and rights of the people you represent.

Furthermore, I implore you to promote greater transparency and communication. Many citizens feel unheard and uninformed about the decisions that affect their lives. By engaging in open dialogue with the residents, seeking their input, and sharing relevant information regarding urban development plans, you can foster a sense of trust and cooperation within the community.

Lastly, as a representative of the people, I kindly request that you explore sustainable solutions that prioritize the preservation of the existing social fabric, cultural heritage, and ecological balance of Abuja. The city's growth and development should not come at the cost of its citizens' well-being or its future generations.

Honorable Minister, I understand the challenges you face in fulfilling your responsibilities, and I acknowledge the importance of the decisions you make. However, please remember that your actions will not only be judged by their immediate outcome but also by the long-term impact they have on the lives of ordinary citizens who call Abuja their home.

Together, we can find a way forward that ensures progress while respecting the lives and livelihoods of every individual in Abuja. I trust in your wisdom, compassion, and dedication to serving the people, and I hope that this letter serves as a reminder to tread carefully, considerately, and with empathy as you navigate the complexities of urban development in the Federal Capital Territory.

Thank you for your attention and understanding.

Sincerely,
