ACE PHOTOGRAPHER AND SINGER TY BELLO HAS JUST REVEALED THAT SHE WAS SEXUALLY ABUSED AT THE AGE OF 7.
Reacting to Busola Dakolo’s explosive interview where she revealed she was raped by COZA pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, TY revealed she remained silent about her own abuse for so long that it was beginning to take its toll on her.

Read her full story below;

I remember how the silence I had to keep after the abuse slowly killed me .. I also remember the relief I found in my relationship God so early .That really was my rescue ..yet for decades I could never find my voice on the matter .. I was still afraid ..Mostly because I felt it may have been the fault of my seven year old self ..somehow.. Fast forward .. almost thirty years later ..I knew better .. and was ‘big’ enough .. I understood the importance of stepping up when it was time to share my story .. and ..I did in my @kemiadetiba ‘s #kingwomen interview .. it surprised me however, how hard it was to talk about sexual abuse after so many years .. but it was such a relief ..But soon after came the resistance ..
In sharing ..I faintly began tasting the shame again .. that same feeling of naked ‘dirtiness ‘’ I had as a child .. it hadn’t completely gone away .It also became clear .. that real stories of sexual abuse still sounded like NOVELTY.. I saw headline after headline .. even in broken English .. this my ‘confession ‘.that ‘ Dem ‘SPOIL ‘ me when I be small pikin’.. It didn’t feel good that it was so ‘sensational’ as I was aware of how massive a plague this was ..WE CLEARLY ARE NOT TALKING ENOUGH ..too many children sexually abused .. too many sex crimes ..especially now .. right under our noses .
I had to push past the inner conflict that talking about it was ‘unnecessary’ … it was too long ago ..too ‘Oyinboish ‘to discuss publicly .. ‘. ‘Then of course ..that talking about it now would make it seem like my family failed me as a child .. but they didn’t .. and could never have known .. I had mastered SILENCE !they were victims too.
Every abuse story is different but it is SHAME that makes them complicated..
Sadly , the shame hardly lies with the perpetrators .. So I’ve learnt that it’s time to nail shame right where it belongs ..Far away from the wronged .. Bringing them instead to healing ,justice and freedom.
We must teach ever child the power of their voices ,,Apparently ,we must teach adults too … and more importantly we must learn to listen .. understand and know that Sex is not a dirty word .. but DENIAL is ..

A Nigerian teacher, Okor Edewor, has shared the beautiful thing one her pupils, Favour Chidi, 8, did for her fellow classmate, Helen, who was in need. Read below

Something touching happened in my school on Friday 7th June 2019.
A child named Favour Chidi came to school this morning and handed over 500naira note to her teacher and said, this is for Helens 'NOVEL' I ask my mum to buy my classmate(Helen) the Novel for the term, since she has not been able to buy hers and the term is running fast ma.
There is something spectacular about this story.
This is a child(Chidi Favour) whose parents has been in some financial stress, When I say financial stress I mean it, for the past 4 terms her parents has been struggling to pay her fees and that of her 2 younger brothers, it was just last weekend the struggling mother brought some amount of money to pay 70% of their bills owed.
The child knowing the pains and setback experienced of not having a novel, willingly told her mum to get her classmate the novel.
This is really touching and encouraging, I was stunned and touched.
Friends and family, this is a real life story, it happened in my school. She is in basic 3(primary 3) as little as she is, a child of 8.
This is worth emulating and worthy of encouragement
Now to you reading this how many people have you you mocked instead of rendering assistance.
Little favour did it. You too can.
I leave you to ponder. Thank you.
PLS SHARE THIS LET OTHERS LEARN FROM THIS LITTLE CHILD NAMED 'FAVOUR'

Politics / Fayemi Reveals Why Governors Insist On Creation Of State Police In Nigeria by Sparky12(m): 4:08am On Jun 26, 2019
Chairman of Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF), Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Tuesday declared that the quest for the creation of state police by some governors, groups and individuals in the country was not intended to undermine the existing Federal Police, the Nigeria Police Force.

Fayemi, who is also the Governor of Ekiti State made this declaration while speaking at a security summit, tagged, “Stakeholders’ security summit: Focus on Western Nigeria” held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The summit, which was organised by the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission, had all the six governors from the region, Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Gboyega Oyetola (Osun) Dapo Abiodun (Ogun) and Fayemi (Ekiti) in attendance.

Others were security chiefs, traditional rulers, leaders of thought and prominent groups within the region among whom are a former deputy governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land, Chief Gani Adams, Secretary of Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE), Dr. Kunle Olajide, Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejuyigbe and Olukare of Ikare-Akoko Oba Akadiri Momoh among others.

The list also included, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulraseed Adewale Akanbi, AIG in charge of Zone 11 which consists of Oyo, Osun and Ekiti, Mr. Leye Oyebade, Commissioners of Police in the six states, among others.

Fayemi while speaking maintained that clamour for state police by governors in the region, groups and individuals across the country, is not intended to undermine or abolish the already existing federal police.

The NGF Chairman while remarking that the security situation in the country has warranted that each state has its own police, insisted that the exiting federal police and the state police would work together when states are allowed to have their own police.

He maintained that what was obtainable in other countries where federalism is being practiced is that, federal and state police work without engaging in unhealthy rivalry.

He added that he is of the opinion that federal and state police would work to complement each others’ efforts without any rivalry, as he insisted that the quest is not against the already existing federal police or to undermine it or to abolish it.

Fayemi said, “Our clamor for state police is not intended to abolish federal police. They go side by side anywhere in the world. Our call for state police is not to abolish the existing Nigeria Police force.

“In all the meetings, I have been attending is, security. Even your Governors last week, we were in Abuja last week, when the National Economic Council was inaugurated, we have only one agenda, it is security.

“Our quest for state police is not tantamount to abolition of federal police.

“We have deployed drone system in order to ensure that criminal elements are tamed. Wherever they are, we will track them.

“We must tackle poverty in the region; we must tackle poverty in our midst. All hands must be on the deck to ensure that we stop the criminal elements in our midst.”

Crime / Drug Lord, Edwin Elochukwu Anyaoku Extradited To Face Drug Trafficking Charges by Sparky12(m): 11:08am On Jun 25, 2019
A Nigerian suspected of being the mastermind of an international drug-smuggling operation, Edwin Elochukwu Anyaoku, has been extradited by South Africa authorities to the United States to face charges of drug-trafficking.

South Africa’s Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), known as the Hawks, announced this today in a statement, Unclad News reports in South Africa.

According to the report, Anyaoku, 54, was arrested in a joint police investigation by the Hawks’ South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (Saneb) and the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in Fourways in July last year.
His arrest resulted in the seizure of 29kg of heroin worth more than R6m (about $416,000).
The DPCI statement obtained by Sahara Reporters read,
Quote
“A suspected mastermind of an international drug-smuggling operation who was arrested last year in Fourways, Johannesburg, was extradited to the United States on Thursday to face charges of drug trafficking.

Quote
“Edwin Elochukwu Anyaoku (54), was arrested in a joint police investigation by the Hawks’ South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB) and Crime Intelligence (Counter Narcotics) and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) which resulted in the seizure of 29 kilograms of heroin worth more than R6 million.

“Anyaoku was arrested with other two suspects, Lerato Diannah Mohai (42) the alleged courier and Christopher Okonkwo (53) who was the suspected scout. Okonkwo successfully made a representation to the Randburg Regional Court last year and after careful consideration, his matter was withdrawn. However, the case against Mohai is ongoing at the same court. It is for trial on 16 and July 2019.

“The investigation into the group started in 2017. An undercover operation was set where Anyaoku allegedly agreed to supply heroin. Anyaoku brought 29 kilograms of heroin and after the purchase, he was arrested together with Mohai and Okonkwo.”.

When I was a little kid, my elder (half-brother) traveled to the nearest town to us and when he was returning, he came back with a face cap. Very colourful and beautiful beyond measure to we, the little ones. We've never seen anything like that before. So, we all gathered round him admiring the face cap. .

Then, he did something very funny. He took off the face cap and placed it on my head. ‘oh! he allowed me to wear this beautiful thing?’ All the other children were amazed to put it lightly, and were very envious of me.

Thereafter, he said something unbelievable. He said to me, ‘I bought it for you'. To say the truth, I nearly fainted with joy. That scenario happened around 1950. Several years passed until maybe about 7 or so years, and one night, I couldn’t sleep, and for one reason or the other, my mind went back to the day because I was trying to go over my life, thinking of days of joy and my mind went back to that day.

A question came to my mind, ‘what have you done for that man?’. As a result, I made up my mind what I will do. So, one day, he was sitting at home in our village. He was a poor farmer who hasn’t even got money to buy a bicycle. My driver and another fellow drove a car into the front of the house. Now, whenever they hear the sound of a car in front of our house, they assume I have come. So, he came out with the others and exclaimed, ‘haha! Where is Daddy G.O.?’

‘oh! He is not here' ‘OK. Why are you here?’

‘Daddy G.O. said we should tell you that this car is yours, this man will be your driver. He said he will pay for the driver, he will fuel the car, and he will maintain the car.’

The man replied, ‘what are you saying?’

My driver answered, ‘that’s the message’

They later reported back to me that when they told him, he was looking for a chair to sit on because he felt dizzy.

THAT WAS EXACTLY HOW I FELT IN 1950.

I want you to stand on your feet, lift your voice to the Almighty God, loud and clear, and say, ‘father! Remember me today.’
Go ahead, talk to the Almighty God.

No less than six street children who were sleeping in a storm drain next to an elite school in the Ugandan capital have been killed.
According to the Agence France Presse, AFP, the police on Monday said the kids were killed after a wall fell on them.
Quote
“Due to a heavy downpour part of the perimeter wall of the school gave way, collapsed on the kids, killing six of them on the spot and two were injured,” Kampala’s deputy police spokesman Luke Owoyesigire told AFP.
“The police rescue team is on the scene to check if any person is buried under the debris.”
The spokesman said police were trying to establish the identities of the children and track down their families, adding that they had been sleeping in the storm drain for a while.
According to Owoyesigire, it was the second such incident recently, after five family members were killed last month as they slept in a mud and wattle house when a wall collapsed on them.

The Super Eagles players are on a massive $95,000 bonus each to win the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, Sports Extra reports.

The Eagles are already guaranteed $10,000 for their 1-0 win over Burundi on Saturday. They are also guaranteed $20,000 if they win their remaining Group B matches against Guinea and Madagascar.

The players will receive $12,500 should they record another win in the round of 16.

Gernot Rohr’s men will get $15,000 and $17,500 respectively for victories in the quarter-final and the semi-final, while a win in the final will see the three-time AFCON winners earn a $20,000 match bonus each.

“Group stage wins: $10k; Round of 16: $12.5k; QF: $15k; SF: $17.5k. And if they win the final: $20k. So, each player would earn $95,000 for winning AFCON2019,” a member of the Nigeria Football Federation’s Reforms Committee, Osasu Obayiuwana, disclosed.

He added that Rohr would earn twice the amount of what his players get, while goalkeepers trainer and assistant coach Alloy Agu and Imama Amapakabo will receive 75 per cent of what Rohr gets. The backroom staff are entitled to 75 per cent of what the players earn. The Eagles take on the Syli Nationale of Guinea in their next Group B match on Wednesday, at the Alexandria stadium.

The Nigerian military recently deployed "drones" to help combat the the activities of kidnappers in Ondo state. The photos from the operation were absolutely ridiculous and laughable, this has led us to try to find out how an actual military drone should look like - citing the American drone as an example.
