The bad news is they are gone and never coming back. May their souls rest in perfect peace.

I am actually concerned with the family the left behind, what will be their faith? what if those guys are the bread winners of their families?

Insurance is key and has come to stay. The good but not a better thing is their families would be compensated by the company and insurance will be the one to sort that out because I believe there would be a comprehensive insurance cover on that truck.

In case you don't know, you can do as little as #1000 for life insurance, payment is annually.

Insurance is the protection against financial loss. Why Would You Insure Your Assets?

Why would anyone concern themselves with the variety of insurance types available to them if they happen to believe it to be a waste of hard earned money and just not a justifiable expense?

For example, why would anyone spend even one naira on life insurance if they have no intention of dying anytime soon? After all, life insurance is for the elderly, is it not?

And why on earth would one insure a vehicle if he/she is a good responsible driver who has never had a vehicle collision ever before? Why waste money on vehicle insurance?

And what about home insurance, surely that is a huge waste of money especially if one has the best security systems and features in place to protect all valuables?

Why would an importer waste money on marine insurance when his goods always arrive safely at the port of destination?

Why would anyone on earth waste money on an unemployed insurance policy if he/she is in permanent employment and has been for years.

All of the above might seem realistic and true, but only for those who live in a perfect world without crime, natural disasters and unforeseen events. If one takes one natural disaster such as a fire as an example, it will automatically give justifiable reasons to all of the above and confirm the necessity of insurance rather than a waste of money.

And yes, life insurance might not be to your immediate benefit now, but accidents do happen, and should anything happen to you, you will at least have ensured that your loved ones are not burdened with your funeral costs, debts etc.

And even though you might be a responsible good driver, another vehicle driver might not be and collide into your vehicle by accident or even you might find yourself in the situation those affected on Otedola bridge found themselves and you run to save your life and forget to save your car and other things inside. Congratulations to this great man. Taking up a better home guard insurance isn't a bad idea for this newly owned asset against unforeseen circumstances. Things happens a lot and everyday we don't pray to become victims but what if we are; the more reason we need to plan ahead. "Birth Certificate from National Population Commission or Declaration of Age deposed to by head of Family (Please note that an NPC birth certificate may only be accepted if the applicant is born after December 13th, 1992)".

What am I supposed to do exactly if I was born before 1992?

It means if you were born after Dec 13 1992 i.e 14, 15 etc then Birth Certificate from NPC may be considered but if your were born before Dec 13, 1992 then Declaration of Age will be accepted.

What a cruel world we are. What is going to be the faith of the family? What if he is the bread winner of his family? Death is inevitable and we will all leave one day with different causes. What have we planned for the people we are leaving behind especially our immediate family members, wife and children or only the children as the case may be. The best thing you can do for your parents is to take very good care of them when they are still alive, don't be part of those that says "had i known" You could take up a life insurance for your parents and after their demise, you could add the money gotten from the insurance company to do a befitting burial for them or build something that would forever fetch reward for them as long as people uses that thing.

We have all added our inputs based on our individual opinions and views. Come to think of it, God forbid if something like this happen to someone we know, what would be the advice to the person.. To endanger her life through abortion which is a sin or give birth to the child and not commit abortion sin. Yes the child is fatherless but should that be an hindrance for the child to be successful? Life is not easy but do we have anybody here who wants to die because of that?. Basically what this 19 years old girl needs is help and support from us to secure a better future for her child as wells as hers. Several things have been put in place to better the life of the girl and her child. She is presently under the care of The Coast of Help Foundation; a charity organisation passionate about poverty alleviation and youth empowerment. I came across this and decided to share. It is a video of a letter to young Nigerians from a concerned Nigerian youth. The letter gave me motivations and inspirations and I believe all young Nigerians will benefit from it. It is high time we stopped dreaming and start acting.

Many years ago, I and my colleagues in the same age bracket were told "We are the leaders of tomorrow" so many of us were told. That tomorrow is today. We are to determine the next leader of our dear country as we dominate the numbers of registered voters. We all can make Nigeria great again.
