The attention of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has been drawn to a statement credited to the spokesperson of Nigeria’s ruling party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in which he said that Nigeria’s main opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC) is an agenda for the Islamisation of Nigeria.




This statement is unguarded, unprofessional, parochial and myopic. Such a statement is only to be heard from a man running diarrhea of the mouth. We challenge him to produce evidence. While we believe it is meant for a few gullible Nigerians, we have no doubt that majority of Nigerians will not allow themselves to be hoodwinked by self-serving politicians.




MURIC appeals to PDP mainstream to call its spokesperson to order. Religion is a very sensitive issue in this country and no political party should attempt to turn Islam into a pawn in its political chess game. We warn that any political party which attempts to drag the name of Islam into the murky waters of Nigerian politics will have the Muslims to contend with.




Instead of crying wolf where there is none, we advise PDP’s spokesman to engage in critical self-examination. PDP’s political woes are self-inflicted and they should blame none but themselves.




X-rayed with microscopic accuracy, PDP will find that the raison d’etre for its current dwindling fortunes are not unconnected with complacency, executive impunity, managerial ineptitude, moral bankruptcy, poverty of integrity among its leadership, etc, etc.




Above all, PDP must trace its present calamity to the arrogance of its political leadership and the failure of its ruling arrowhead to honour pledges. Even the Glorious Qur’an assures that “Those who break Allah’s covenants after it has been ratified, those who put asunder what Allah has ordered to be joined and those who do mischief on earth: these are the people who cause loss unto themselves” (Qur’an 2:27).




Nigerian politicians must know that the promise of Allah often starts its manifestation in this world. The Qur’an also affirms that men will be held accountable for their promises (Qur’an 17:34). This accountability may have begun in present-day Nigeria for some political parties and their leaders. All three signs of the hypocrite as enumerated by Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) in his hadith are now manifest in Nigeria’s leaders: lying, breaking their pledges and betraying trust.




The way forward for PDP leadership is to withdraw the fraudulent statement credited to its spokesman, apologise to Nigerian Muslims in particular and all Nigerians in general and seek Allah’s forgiveness.




Finally, we assure Nigerians that Muslims have no anointed political party. We are in all political parties (PDP, APC, Labour, PDM, APGA, etc) and we cannot afford to be partial or parochial. We wish all of them well. Our members voted for all political parties (including the PDP) and they will continue to vote for political parties of their inclination without being prompted from the minbar (mosque’s pulpit).




We are not interested in religious politics. Nonetheless, we cannot keep quiet in the face of the unwarranted, unprovoked, unsolicited, irrational and inexplicable statement credited to the PDP spokesman.




APC as an Islamic agenda exists only in the figment of the imagination of dreamers who lack drive. We have no doubt that Allah is waiting for any political party or leader who seeks to persecute Muslims or to mock the religion of Islam. “Innah rabaka labilmirsaad”, i.e. Verily indeed your Lord is on the watch-tower (Qur’an 89:14).

On the five governors that defected to All Progressives Congress (APC), two or three of them will still go back to PDP. Some other PDP governors are still planning to move to the APC. Go and mark my words, APC too will still experience crisis. What will cause APC crisis is power tussle and self interest. I want Nigerians to know that God said I should inform them that Jonathan is the last PDP president that will rule this country. I have said it on several occasions that we need to pray so that this country will not disintegrate into fragments. I don’t know how soon it will be, but I foresee this country breaking up. The national dialogue or conference being planned by the Jonathan government will not produce any meaningful result. Go and mark my words this national conference outcome will be dumped by this government and any government that comes after Jonathan. This conference you see them setting up will only serve as a foundation for a bigger national conference that is coming in future. We need to pray very well. All what we are seeing presently will lead to a strong probe coming to aviation sector. Some people will mount pressure on President Jonathan to remove Princess Stella Oduah, Diezani Allison-Madueke and Arunma Otteh. This will be part of negotiation Jonathan will enter into. There will be no improvement in the stock market. Before now I had predicted that All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) would retain Anambra State. The governor-elect of Anambra State needs to pray very well, because there will be court action against his election that may threaten his smooth running of the state. This coming year, I foresee a lot of crisis coming up in Rivers, Delta, Nasarawa, Gombe, Yobe, Kano, Sokoto, Borno and Plateau states. There is going to be ethnic crisis in Delta State. We need to pray against ocean surge in Lagos State. In 2015, an unknown man will emerge as the governor of Lagos State. Fashola and Tinubu should pray against quarrel between the two of them. I foresee quarrel coming up between them to the extent that it will cause some members of APC breaking away to join PDP in Lagos. Let us pray for Osun, Oyo and Lagos states, so that we will not witness death among royal fathers. Olofa of Offa town in Kwara State needs to pray very well so that he can return to his stool. Those that ganged up against him will be exposed. Boko Haram is in its last lap, but we need to pray so that God will weaken them more. Nobody will be able to capture Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram sect; Government will only end up killing him. Nigeria needs to pray against more deadly attacks from Boko Haram. ASUU needs prayer so that government will not infiltrate them that may lead to the union breaking up into fragments. The last is not yet heard about strike, as Nigeria Labour Congress and doctors will still go on strike. NUT will table some demands before the Federal Government, which will lead to NUT wanting to go on strike. Let us pray against boat mishap in Lagos State. Many things will still be exposed as regards the oil subsidy saga in Nigeria. Jonathan government will not be able to manage corruption crisis in Nigeria, because corruption will get to its highest peak during Jonathan’s administration. Economic and Financial Crimes Commission will not achieve anything, because the corruption is bigger than what EFCC can tame. Let us pray very well for God to avert death among the Nollywood actors and actresses, both Yoruba and English genres. Let us pray against problem among Fuji musicians. We need to pray for guidance for both print and electronic journalists. God is planning to bless Nigeria with natural resources that we’ve not seen before in this country. We are going to witness reforms in the Governors’ Forum. Let us pray against problems in our airports, especially Abuja and Lagos airports. A big probe is coming to FAAN and NCAA. Let us pray against the menace of pirates on our sea coastlines. African countries will still want to have common currency. Nigeria will change its currency in future. Our economy will not improve. Let us pray against rise in the attack on our petroleum pipelines. GTB, First Bank, WEMA and Sterling banks will retrench this coming year. New banks coming up. New telecommunication company still coming. Mainstream, Keystone banks will have their names and managements changed in the nearest future. Nigerian electricity will not be stable until 2015/2016. We need to pray for Queen Elizabeth of England so that she will not lose someone close to her. She should, as a matter of fact, pray for her husband. Let us pray so that we don’t lose an African president come next year. Let us pray so that an African president will not face an ICC case that may force him to want to resign. A minister will be jailed in France as a result of corruption. Let us pray against cholera and measles outbreak. We need to also pray against rise in hypertension cases and eye problem. Aviation fuel price will rise this coming year. New airlines are coming into the local sector of the aviation industry. We need to protect our airports against external attack. There will be heavy importation of arms and ammunition through seaports in the coming year. We need to pray to avert death in the Nigerian Army. Many parastatal boards will be changed next year. Let us pray again against plane crash. America and United Kingdom need prayer against external attack. Israel needs prayer against attack. Syria crisis will soon be resolved, but before the resolution, Syria will experience more violence. Let us pray against coup d’état in any of the African countries. We need to pray against crisis in Kenya, South Sudan and Mauritius. Also Guinea Bissau will not be left out. The crisis in Egypt will continue, but it will soon be resolved, as the military will announce new date for election. There is going to be a lot of revelations in NNPC to the extent that it may lead to the removal of the Group Managing Director of the company. Let us pray against crisis in the Central Bank of Nigeria. We need to pray because God revealed to me that not all the senators that begin the year will see the end of the year. Not all the members of the House of Representatives that start the year will see the end. There is going to be serious gang up against the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Let us pray against increment in the prices of foodstuffs. Let us pray against the death of a national leader in 2014. Our royal fathers need our collective prayers. I foresee beautiful road networks coming in Nigeria. We also need to pray against railway accident.

The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 37-year-old man, one Augustine Obodeke; for having carnal knowledge of his 17-year old daughter (Favour) and impregnating her three times. The bubble finally burst for Obodeke when his daughter became pregnant the third time and was unwilling to go for abortion. According to police report, the girl had cried out to neighbours who then reported the matter to the Ugbowo Police Station in Benin City. Following the report, the police arrested Obodeke and he is currently cooling his feet in a police cell. Narrating her ordeal to Sunday Sun, Favour said her father started having sexual intercourse with her after the death of her mother. “He first impregnated me and we went for abortion. My father impregnated me the second time and I went for another abortion. He had arranged a doctor at Uselu who has been doing the abortion. “My father impregnated me the third time and told me that we should go for another abortion but I ran out of the house. He then threatened to deal with me if I told anybody what has been happening between us. “I have to cry out early in the morning which prompted our neighbours to intervene. Since my mother was late, anytime my father requested for sex, I felt I had no choice than to allow him have sex with me,” Favour explained. In his own account, Obodeke accepted that he had been sleeping with his daughter and had impregnated her thrice. He, however, attributed it to the death of his wife and his inability to remarry. “It is true that I have been having sex with my own daughter. When she became pregnant the first time, I took her to one of my doctors at Uselu Quarters who terminated the pregnancy. I impregnated her the second time and I took her to the same doctor who terminated the pregnancy again. It was when I impregnated her the third time that she refused to follow me to the doctor for the abortion. “I decided to be have sex with my daughter because my wife is late and I have not remarried. I decided to enjoy my own daughter by having sex with her. I want my daughter to forgive me because I have sinned against her. Nobody told me that what I was doing to my daughter was an abomination. I thought I was enjoying the sex with my daughter,” he said The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Foluso Adebanjo told Sunday Sun that the man was arrested on November 22, 2013. He also explained that the doctor who terminated the first pregnancies was still at large. He however assured that the suspect would soon be charged to court to face the consequence of his action.

This is part of the message one Isaac John Mba sent to me some time ago. Ordinarily my inbox is filled with hate messages, threat to life, threat of SSS arrest, insults on me and my entire family, so I do not take them to be anything because I know in whose Hand my life is. But I was concern when this ISAAC JOHN MBA person sent this message to me in response to an article I wrote. This is why, two things worried me in his message:

Firstly was that I discover that this person is a born again Deeper lifer. His facebook page is filled with admonition and prayers. It made me wonder what kind of Christians we have today. When we were young, “born again” Christians were easily identified by the modest dressing and soft speech, today it is the opposite. It is like other than prosperity, the only other topics being preached on Sundays are hate massages against Muslims. He wrote in his facebook page that he went to WOFBI BIBLE COLLEGE RAJI OBA CAMPUS LAGOS. Can you imagine? He is even a Pastor.

The part where the lunatic accused me of killing human beings as if I was killing ram is kind of funny because last Eid Adha, we could not even slaughter our Ram ourselves, we have to wait hours in hunger for some brothers to come from the other end of town to help us slaughter. If we could not even slaughter Ram, how then are we going to slaughter a human being? Ironically, as a Nigeria Muslim, I am more likely to be slaughtered like an animal and made barbeque of than followers of other faith. Few Years ago, 2011 precisely, several Muslims were attacked, slaughtered and roasted like suya (barbeque) on Eid Day by Christian youths in Plateau State. We saw it on video and how the security people stood by and did nothing and this brings me to the second troubling issue.

The second thing that worried me was the fact that this ISAAC John Mba guy that is praying for the destruction of Islam and Muslim is a member of the Nigeria Armed Forces, stationed in Maiduguri.

So when you hear of how Nigerian Soldiers killed Muslims in Baga and how they are killing Muslims in Maiduguri and envious under pretense of fighting Boko Haram, when you hear of how they are torturing, executing and starving Muslims to death in their custody, it is idiots like this that are doing it. To them Muslims are vampires and sub-humans and they should be eliminated at any given opportunity.

Just like the Crusaders did when they entered Jerusalem, they sang songs of praises as they slaughtered Muslims in hundreds; they sang praises to Christ as they cut open pregnant women, smashed and crushed their foetus. The blood of mainly Muslims, alongside Jews and eastern Christians flowed like stream in the street of Jerusalem. The bodies of Muslims were arranged in heaps as if they were houses. All this, they did, to the glory of whom they worship. So when they seized Baga, they killed Muslims men and women, threw suckling babies into burning flames, in the mind of these hate filled Soldiers it was for the glory of Christ.

I once advised that good Christians should admonish the foolish ones, but today I plead with good Christians to admonish the evil ones among them. Muslims are in the forefront in denouncing and rebuking Boko Haram and other Muslims who engage in violent acts, but Christians, especially Nigeria Christians, are silent in denouncing evils perpetrated by Christians in the name of Christianity.

As numerically little the Jews are, centuries of prosecution and mass murder by Christian Europe did not make them disappear from the surface of the earth, so Muslims are not going to disappear to anywhere. The US and her allies have killed directly and indirectly two million Muslims since September 11, 2001, this has not significantly reduced Muslims in number.

As much as you hate us, you have to learn to leave with us. For everybody sake.

Apart from the minaret, some of other status displayed look more like those in Christianity than in Islam. You need to know that Islam discourage unguided use of pictures not to talk of status. In Christianity, statutes and pictures of the a claimed man-god vis-a vis trinity are conspicuously displayed in the Churches.

I understand that Bible has not less than incest cases. May be the guy is a bible student.

Have you met Dr. Muhammad Nazeef Yunus? He is an Islamic scholar who doubles as an assistant lecturer in Kogi State University, teaching Arabic and Islamic studies. He is the latest victim of SSS trumped up charges. The people at DSS are accusing him of recruiting and coordinating a Boko Haram “terror cell” in Kogi State. The evidence against him is alleged confessions of some individuals who claimed he recruited them for terror activities.

After reading the reports of the confession yesterday, one was left to wonder, what could have induced this “confessions” from the alleged accomplices? People just don’t give evidence against themselves and their “spiritual leader” who allegedly recruited and indoctrinated them. What’s the essence of indoctrination when the brainwashed subjects would easily rat on the indoctrinator?

Somebody jokingly suggested that perhaps they were injected with “truth serum”. Just in case you don’t know what a “truth serum” is, according to wikipedia, it is a colloquial name for any of a range of psychoactive medications used to obtain information from subjects who are unable or unwilling to provide it otherwise. The theory was that they were injected with a psychoactive substance that made them rat their supposed leader. So why wasn’t the university Don injected with the truth serum? That way he can tell on himself, his recruits and those he reports to.

But the truth is that there was no “truth serum” at play here and I never really considered that as a theory behind the confession. The only way the DSS could have possibly elicited the so called confessions from those suspects were either through torture, threat or some other criminal and illegal means and hence such confession cannot be relied upon.

.I have no interest in quoting verbatim the reported allege confessions of the suspects, but I can tell you that there were so conveniently tailored around the Dr. Yunus. He is said to have sent one to Sambisa “terrorist” for terrorist training. Then they said he gave one two AK47 and rounds of ammunitions for safe keeping. They also said he recruited and indoctrinated two students who came to him seeking admission into Kogi State University. Then tortoise told the birds that his name is now “all of you”, so when they got to heaven he eat all the food given to “all of you”. So the birds, in anger, took back their feathers and tortoise broke his back while attempting to fly back to earth by himself. That’s how he ended up with broken shell. Only intellectually handicap people believe in such fictitious tails.

Dr. Yunus have denied the said allegation saying that he had repeated preached against the activities of Boko Haram and that he was being framed:


“My Islamic preaching had always been against the activities of the Boko Haram sects, but I was shocked when the other suspects insisted that I was a member and the one that recruited them into the sect. I have never been a member of Boko Haram for one minute in my life, I even preach against them,”

Sheikh Alhassan Said, a renowned Islamic scholar also corroborated the Doctor’s statement:


“Sheikh Muhammad Nazeef (Yunus) is in the forefront in preaching against Boko Haram ideology in Jos… I and Nazeef have organised several sensitisation lectures against the sect in Jos and Bukuru. We have been living with Nazeef for over 15 years and we have never seen any sign or act that could suggest any association with Boko Haram. No one has ever witnessed him preach violence. He has nothing to do with Boko Haram. To us, we believe strongly that Sheikh Nazeef is not a member of Boko Haram. We are calling on all the security agencies in the country to fear the Almighty God in discharging their duties according to the laws of the land and not incriminate Sheikh Nazif or any innocent citizen.”

The wife of the Islamic preacher, Hajiya Sa’adatu Shuaibu also insisted that the security agents lied about her husband, confirming that her husband has been preaching that Boko Haram ideology is anti-Islam, and is not the path of Allah.

Haven practiced law for some years now, I know how security agents in Nigeria secure confessions. When they tell you that investigation is ongoing and they expect a breakthrough soon, know that they have somebody in their custody that is being tortured and they are hoping that soon the suspect would break and admit to all that they want him to. The only investigation they do is to arrest people and torture them.

I know of an accused that unintentionally killed his half brother in a fight in Benin. He surrendered himself when his younger sister was unlawfully arrested by police when they could not find him. The Police refused to accept his version of the incident, insisting that he murdered is half brother in cold blood. Rather than conduct investigation, as we see the “Oyibo” people do on tv, they proceeded to torture this accused person for days until he agreed to signed a “confessional statement” they prepared for him and so tailored along the story the police officers imagined happened. The signed confessional statement implicated two other persons in his neighbourhood who had nothing to do with the issue. One of those implicated was a neighbour whom he had a long standing family dispute with, the other was his elder’s brother friend.

The first one was arrested base on the allege confession made against him and because he suffered an accident few months before and just undergone surgery to repair his broken legs they could not place him inside the cell like the others, so he was handcuffed to an office table for twenty one days or more at the Edo State Police Headquarters. Despite his condition, the officers routinely beat him and kick his broken legs. This accused who is a devoted catholic, from a very responsible home and whose elder brother was a Roman Catholic Priest knew nothing of the crime that he was accused of. In spite of the torture he insisted on his innocence. After spending over twenty one (21) days handcuffed under a table, he was arraigned for murder, was remanded and subsequently granted bail on medical ground base on the damage further done to his legs while in Police custody

As for the other alleged confessed accomplice, he was not that lucky. In the police attempt to get a confession from him they did not hold back in inflicting as much pain as possible on him. They hung him, beat him continuously for hours with sticks, baton and other objects. They gave his helplessly suspended body flying kicks. He suffered this treatment for days with little food. The beating was so severe that even his cellmates advised him to just admit to whatever the police suggested and that the truth will come out when the guy that falsely implicates him tells the court what actually happened. He still refused to confess to a crime he did not commit until he was made to witness the extra-judicial execution of an alleged armed robbery suspects and was told that if he kept on insisting on his innocence he will end up like the said armed robbery suspect. So he confessed to the crime, implicating himself, the 1st accused person and the one with the broken leg. A police officer wrote the said “confessional statement” and he was made to sign it. He and the first accused person are still languishing in Oko Prisons, Benin City awaiting trial for almost two years now. Bail as been denied and all attempts to enforce his right have failed like every other thing in the country.

The DSS on their own part are worse; they hardly allow a lawyer access to their suspects. After keeping Dr. Yunus in their custody longer than the constitution permits, they quickly paraded him as a criminal, in other to denigrate his reputation after a court have given an order to bring him before it. If the police could go this far to prove a murder, if they can execute robbery suspects right inside a police state headquarters, what do you think they can do to a terrorist suspect? Worse still, how far do you think the DSS will go in dealing with a suspected “Muslim terrorist” in their war on terror?

The DSS spokeswoman, Marilyn Ogar, was quick to remind us all that “the war on terror is still on”. In the western intelligent community and among Muslims, especially those living in the west knows that the “war on terror” is actually “war on Islam”. It is a global effort and DSS are just playing their part. Ogar use of the word was not a coincident.

Some Nigerians may be stupid enough to buy the cock and bull stories from DSS, but some of us are not. They want us to believe that a Muslim that is known to have openly and repeatedly spoken against Boko Haram is a Boko Haram member. Such hypocrisy may exist elsewhere, but not among Muslims. Nobody is under obligation to speak against Boko Haram, if the man was a member, they is no point in him speaking against them.

Any one of us in the Muslim community could be the next victim of DSS if they start to feel uncomfortable with any of us. Every Muslim that promotes Islam can be tag a Boko Haram member or a Boko Haram sponsor. Mr. Jibrin Echocho, a Muslim philanthropy and a former Governorship aspirant who was dropped because some Christians accused him of having an agenda to Islamise Kogi State is currently being blackmail with a concocted security report allegedly linking him Boko Haram.

In this their war there are rules, they are immoral and evil, they can cook up stories about you in a moment notice, defame you character with lies and false data, compare to other things they can do to you, to assassinate you will be like mercy. Anyone of us could be their next victim.

In this so called war on terror, they invaded Iraq and killed hundreds of thousands of Muslims, bombed museums and universities, destroying ancient artefacts and books and the key intelligence that was used to justify the war was based on fabrication, wishful thinking and lies. Saddam Hussein had no weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

In this so called war on terror, they kill civilians, including women and children. In Falluja they used depleted uranium on a civilian population, they killed Muslim women in Baga and throw their children into burning flames. They slaughter and starve prisoners to death in their barracks and Police stations. In their “war on terror”, they arrest thousands of Muslims around the world under the pretence of fighting al Qadae, Boko Haram or whatever and they kept them incommunicado and indefinitely without trial.

In this their declared war on Islam and Muslim they use unmanned drones to bomb Islamic schools, marriage parties and funeral procession in Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia and elsewhere. In Haditha, they shot up and blown up twenty four Muslims, including a 76 year old man, women and children, in the bedclothes as they slept.

In this their war on terror, propaganda is just as lethal like their guns and missiles. A random Taliban fighter shot a child, a Muslim child in Pakistan, Alhamdullillah she lived. Fourteen years old Abeer al-Janabi, was not so fortunate, she was gang-raped by five American soldiers, who then shot her and her family in the head, then set fire to their corpses. Guess which story the media repeatedly tells?

These agents of Satan (DSS, CIA, MOSSAD and others) are worse than the evils they created and pretend to be fighting. Be rest assured that their aim is to dismantle Islam and do to Islam what they did to Christianity centuries ago. Until we abandon the values of our faith and accept the perversion and satanic culture of secularism, they will keep creating reasons to kill us, rape our children, bomb our schools, assassinate and imprison our leaders and scholars.

Our response to the agents of Satan must be within the confines of Islam, there is no room for extremism. We must stick to the core values of Islam; justice, goodness, compassion, neighbourliness, truthfulness and piety. These despicable people are not our teachers and we must not emulate them. Indiscriminate killings, killing of women and children, bombing places of worship etc are not the ways in which we should respond. As Muslims, we must remember that sovereignty lies with Allah alone and only Allah gives victory. In the Battle of Yarmouk, after just 40,000 Muslims defeated 400,000 Byzantine soldiers, a General in the Byzantine army described the Muslims as “…a people who stand in prayer all night, fast during the day, keep to their covenants, command what is good and forbid what is wrong and they are just…”


“O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah, as witness to fair dealings, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: this is next to piety: and fear Allah. For Allah is well-acquainted with all that you do”. Qur’an 5:8

We must be Muslims in the true sense of the word, be patient and hold firmly to the rope of Allah in piety. Allah will most definitely give us victory eventually if we are steadfast.
