The threats which is connected to allegation of how he violated the principles of breach of trust between him and one Talatu Aliyu, a business woman in Adamawa State.

"He enjoined the members of the general public to be wary of having any business deal with of whatsoever type and under whichever guise.

"Suleiman who is a public commentator worried that Sani has breached the ethics of Law practice and as an Honorable member to have represented the good people of Mubi North is condemnable.

"He said Sani has committed gross criminal offenses as a practicing Lawyer and a former Lawmaker.

"He called on the NBA to sanction him and the University of Maiduguri to withdraw his law certificate because all he does is against the principles of an ideal Lawyer.

""This Man over the years nothing he has done than defraud the unsuspecting members of the general public as a lawyer.

""Worst of it all he has never won a single case of whatever type, as a lawyer that is supposed to speak well, but Sani is one of those learned colleagues that is destroying the Queen's language with his unsound English terms, proud cement as a supposed lawyer," Suleiman said"

Politics / Retired Police Petition IGP, Presidency Of serving officers due for Retirement by TGNEWS(m): 7:12pm On Nov 21, 2023
... demand justice, sanctions on indicted officers

. ..Coalition urges Egbetokun to probe cheating officers' records, impose sanctions

The refusal of some police officers overdue for retirement to quit the service is currently generating tension within the Nigeria Police Force.

Already, there have been scores of petitions submitted to the office of the Inspector General of Police and the Police Service Commission by the retired colleagues of the cheating officers, many of who left the Force about five years ago after reaching the statutory age of 60 years or 35 years in service.

Currently, plan by police authorities to enforce the rule on mandatory retirement of officers is creating some anxiety in the Force.

The affected officers are those who are above the statutory 60 years of age and 35 years in service.

In July this year, the Police Service Commission (PSC) ordered the compulsory retirement of an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for allegedly overstaying in service. The PSC also ordered the compulsorily retired ACP to refund all salaries and entitlements wrongly paid to him during the period he had overstayed in service. There was also the case of an Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) who was enlisted as a Constable in February 1991. He was trained at the Police Training School, Ilorin and was appointed an Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1996. In one of his records, he claimed 1/12/1994. But there was no training in the Constable cadre until 1999. He's currently claiming 1996. He was recently promoted an AIG.

It was gathered that a syndicate operating within the NPF had been assisting the cheating officers to perpetrate the crime.

However, a coalition of 259 anti-corruption, civil society and human rights groups, Coalition for Transparency and Economic Reforms (COTER) has called on the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Egbetokun to institute a comprehensive investigation to look into the records of the cheating officers and recommend necessary sanctions against them.

Recently, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun ordered police formations and commands to extract a letter of retirement from police officers due for retirement, but who have refused to quit service.

The signal from the IGP's office had described the continued stay in service of such officers as a "disturbing trend" in the Force.

But the cheating officers have been making moves to resist plans by the Police authorities to enforce the IGP's order.

The IGP's signal had stated, "Cooperation with other govt bodies in compliance with the directive of the honourable chairman, Police Service Commission, the IGP directs you draw the attention of all members of the Force to the emerging and disturbing trend in the Nigeria Police Force wherein officers upon attainment of 35 years in service or 60 years of age refuse to proceed on retirement.

"This is contrary to the provisions of the Public Service Rule (PSR) 020810 i & Ii which provides that the mandatory retirement age for all grades in the service shall be 60 years or 35 years of pensionable service. No officer shall be allowed to remain in service after attaining the retirement age of 60 years or 35 years of pensionable service, whichever is earlier. All actions taken by the said officers for the Nigeria Police are null and void as a result of expiration of service duration. Accordingly, you are to immediately extract a letter of voluntary retirement from such officers."

But it was learnt that inspite of this order by the IGP, many police officers who have exceeded the statutory 65 years of age and 35 years in service are still being illegally harboured by the Force and have continued in service, having falsified their age and reduced the number of years they've already spent in service.

Many of these cheating officers, it was gathered, are in the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).

Documents obtained from the Force listing the names, recruitment number, age, years of enlistment, years of last promotion and expected years of retirement of the cheating officers revealed how they perpetrated the crime. One set of the documents revealed their falsified particulars while another set disclosed their real age, service length and dates of retirement.

For instance, one of the officers involved in the scandal, CSP Sunday Adeola Oke with Force number: AP46625 who was enlisted in the NPF on 15/04/1988 and was supposed to have retired on 15/04/2023, allegedly changed his date of enlistment to 25/06/1994 to extend his retirement date. He also changed his last date of promotion in the Force from 01/06/2008 to 02/11/2021.

Similarly, another officer, Peter Ugochukwu Ezebuike, with Force number: AP21619, changed his enlistment date from 01/11/1988 to 25/06/1994 to prolong his retirement date.

Some of the other police officers caught in this web of cheating and falsification of age and retirement dates in the NPF, according to the documents, include CSP David Otu Abuo (AP46465), CSP Patrick Odoemelem (AP46501), CSP John Ajene Ogwuche (AP46526), CSP Egwu Otu (AP46530), Emman Adegboyega Oyeleye (AP46587), CSP Cosmas Anyanwu (AP46574), CSP Cletus Nwadiogbu (AP46498) and Dennis Anyai (AP46632).

This development, it was gathered had infuriated some retired colleagues of the cheating officers, who were said to have inundated both the Police Service Commission and the office of the Inspector General of Police with series of petitions, demanding justice.

Some other aggrieved retired police officers, it was gathered, sent their petitions against their cheating colleagues still serving illegally in the Force directly to the Presidency.

The retired police officers, it was learnt, are calling for a thorough investigation of the development with a view to unmasking such officers who have overstayed in service through illegal and devious means.

A retired police officer, who pleaded anonymity, told our Correspondent, "Police authorities should publish the names of all officers who have violated their service retirement age. Such impunity should never be tolerated. They should be punished for engaging in such illegal acts to serve as a deterrent to others."

Efforts by our Correspondent to speak with the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi to react to the development in the police proved abortive as he did not pick calls made to his phone.

Adejobi, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), only gave a terse reply to a text message sent to him on the scandal, saying, "I'm not aware."

COALITION DEMANDS COMPREHENSIVE PROBE

Meanwhile, a coalition of 259 anti-corruption, civil society and human rights groups, Coalition for Transparency and Economic Reforms (COTER) has called on the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Egbetokun to order a comprehensive probe of the records of the cheating officers and recommend necessary sanctions to be imposed on them.

COTER also urged the IGP to ensure the immediate exit of these cheating officers from the Police Force.

It added that there should be immediate recovery of all the salaries and entitlements already paid these cheating officers during the period they have overstayed in the Police Force.

COTER President, Dr Peter Chima Chukwu and General Secretary, Mallam Auta Ibrahim Koko, stated that the police authorities should also make public the names of the cheating officers to serve as a deterrent to others.

COTER said, "We urge the Inspector General of Police to institute a comprehensive probe of this illegal, untoward and scandalous development in the Nigeria Police Force. We urge them to ensure that all those officers indicted are appropriately sanctioned.

"What they have been alleged to have done as police officers is appalling. So, we call on the police authorities not to spare any one of these cheating officers. Infact, we're calling on the IGP to immediately sack them from the Force.

"We believe, for the good of the Nigeria Police Force and the sake of posterity, the police authorities will not spare anyone of these cheating officers as a sacred cow.

"We commend your efforts, but we demand that all indicted officers must be appropriately punished in order to deter others from towing such ignoble path in the future. The cheating officers must also be made to refund every Kobo of the salaries and entitlements they have illegally collected from the Force."

Crime / Communities Of Lere, And Kauru Lgas In Kaduna Are Under Siege By Bandits by TGNEWS(m): 7:50am On Nov 20, 2023
....in Garun-Kurama many were kidnapped, many killed no one seemed to come to their rescue

By Tom Garba, Garu

The prevailing rate of bandit attacks that are going unabated is causing sleepless nights to the members of the Lere and Kauru Local Governments' communities.

Recently Garun-Kurama, Kahugu, Ungwan Kerau, and Mariri in the Lere Local Government area of Kaduna State have been under attacks of the bandits, kidnapping people indiscriminately for ransom.

A resident of Garun-Kurama, a suburb town of Saminaka who prefers to be anonymous for fear of being kidnapped said recently the wife of All Progressives Congress, APC, of the Lere Local Government area chairman, was kidnapped and a whopping undisclosed amount of money was paid as a Ransom.

He said the APC Chieftain, Mr. Jonathan Shekarau Ukissa, who is well known as Ba'are is experiencing an attack by the men of the underworld in recent times.

According to him some months ago his first Son was also kidnapped and spent days in the custody of the kidnappers until Money paid for his release.

He worried that the kidnappers were more deadly as the Younger Brother to Kaduna State former deputy speaker and a lecturer with the Kaduna State University, Professor Matoh Dari Dogara was kidnapped and killed within a few hours.

He said last week another person was kidnapped and still under their custody as ransom negotiation is still ongoing and his fate to come alive is uncertain.

"I'm afraid they may kill the Man because truly no one to help him for the ransom and the kidnappers have been threatening to kill him if nothing is done." He said

This medium also gathered that Damakasuwa and Bakin Kogi communities in Kauru LGA are also facing the myriad attacks of kidnappers.

Another person who also prefers to be anonymous said people in Damakasuwa are now more of fugitives, leaving the town at dawn times and coming in the wee hours for fear of being kidnapped.

He revealed that the kidnappers are using people within the communities as their informants to leak information about who has farmed well and started bringing farm produce home.

You would recall that Yadin Garun Kurama was where some Catholic priests were kidnapped and killed two years ago.

They worried that the insecurity challenges in the areas are rampant despite having the commissioner of Environment, Hon Abubakar Buba who was Lere's former council Chairman and close to the government of Kaduna State.

"All complaints are falling on deaf ears, we don't seem to have Leaders with political goodwill, all they care about is to enmeshed well for personal gains.

"Our House of Representatives member, Engr Mannir is doing nothing about it too.

"God will judge them, I'm suspecting a foul play of the government too. They are complacent about all the activities going around our communities.

"We are afraid and we are in a dilemma, You dare not bring back your farm produce home, you can be the next victim." They lamented

This is coming when the National security adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu recently addressed stakeholders on issues of insecurity that the present government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing everything possible to secure the country despite inheriting many leadership liabilities.

Crime / Zamfara: Submerging Justice Over Injustice Is The Worst Political Banditry by TGNEWS(m): 10:51am On Nov 19, 2023
Banditry Roundabout Zamfara: Gov Lawal Never Had A Hand In It

By

Tom Garba

Zamfara State, nicknamed the land of agriculture, was once peaceful. Serenity in the area used to be iconic. So was unity among the people of one of the old Hausa city-states like Kano, Katsina, Gobir, Kabi, and Zazzau. The people over the years have struggled for autonomy until the military administration of General Sani Abacha subdivided Sokoto State in 1996 to get the present-day Zamfara.

Unfortunately, the democracy they all yearned for has turned into a nightmare of their corporate existence. Politicians who were not passionate about development used agriculture and mineral resources to inflict pain on the people. The bandits succeeded in ruining the state, killing, maiming, and kidnapping women and children for ransom. Some of the women became sex slaves.

Bandits turned the people into their source of livelihood while politicians used the bandits to settle scores. This was the way of life during the governorship of Bello Mutawalle (now Minister of State (Defence)). During his days, kidnapping was the order of the day.

Fate and luck took sides with the people of Zamfara State when they all stood up against the tyranny of the bandit-friendly government. They used the 2023 governorship election to vote out the All Progressives Congress (APC). In place came in Dr Dauda Lawal of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) who is transforming the state.

Lawal is restoring the lost glory of Zamfara. Farming as the pride of the state is taking shape in an unprecedented speed, security has been beefed up and the activities of bandits have been drastically curbed. Kidnapping of people is almost becoming a history. This is the new Zamfara State under Dr Dauda Lawal, an erudite and zealous leader with a heart of gold.

Chasing the dark moments of kidnapping with impunity, raping women and killing children for ritual purposes, illegitimate mining of the concentrated mineral resources is already bade goodbye. But the opposition on Thursday saw that the business as usual was no more and went to court to overturn the judgement and the declaration of Governor Dauda Lawal.

Many political analysts and thought leaders thought what happened at the Abuja Court of Appeal was more of political banditry than due process.

To them, Political Banditry is the worst form because it robs the economy, the political will, and the mineral resources of the people of Zamfara State, where Governor Lawal has no hand in any of the crimes.

The Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should not turn the other eye, wade in and prevail on the manipulators of the people's mandate to let the able leadership of Dr Dauda Lawal be.

It's a looming bloody situation and the decision of the court may plunge the state into a crisis leading to an unimaginable mayhem. To avert such an ugly situation is to maintain the status quo. To allow the peaceful and progressive nature of Zamfara to flow. The best I see in this is to allow Governor Dauda Lawal to continue to champion the cause of the state because it is the people's choice and their mandate was given to him.

It is therefore the worst of all the migration of Zamfara State to banditry of the people's will, the future and the collective destiny of every son and daughter of the state.

Lawal is the answer to the needs of the people in Zamfara. He is the solution to the people and is the man with the people's mandate. He has come to work, to protect and defend the interest of anyone in the state. Submerging justice in the interest of injustice could be catastrophic.

Mr President, please save the situation.

Politics / The Arithmetic Of Zamfara Politics: Why PDP Will Win Again by TGNEWS(m): 4:09pm On Nov 17, 2023
by Tom Garba

As Chinua Achebe would rightly posit, the trouble with Nigeria is simply and squarely a failure of leadership. The Nigerian problem is the unwillingness or inability of its leaders to rise to the demand for responsible leadership. The good people of Zamfara State were on the verge of rescue before the Appeal Court recently aborted the transformational leadership of Dr Dauda Lawal, the incumbent governor who received the people's mandate to lead on the platform of the People's Democratic Party.

The basic element of this misfortune is a faulty structural system to remove good leaders and intellectual rigour in the political thought of Zamfara. The court verdict decreed a rerun election in three local governments…more of a tendency to pious materialistic woolliness and self-centred individuals to return the state to its dark days. Governor Lawal had ushered in light at the end of the tunnel. He rekindled hope, and peace has returned to many homes and hearts of the people of Zamfara State.

Unfortunately, we have witnessed what can be best described as the institutionalised robbery of the common people of Zamfara State by desperate politicians who are trying to use the judiciary to submerge justice. We must voice out that affirmative action and social justice is the hallmark of democracy.

My joy at the verdict declared on November 16 by what some media houses described it a unanimous decision by a three-member panel led by Justice Oyebisi Folayemi, nullifying the return of Governor Lawal of the PDP as the winner of the governorship poll. The boxers will go back to the ring, and this time around, I can assure spectators of dirty blows that will knock down the political ovation of Mutawalle Bello by the votes the people of Zamfara State in three local government areas will give in bulk for Lawal.

Justice Sybil Nwaka who read the lead judgement ordered the INEC to conduct a fresh election in three local government areas, where elections had not been held previously or where results from various polling units were not counted during the March 2023 governorship polls.

Justice Nwaka took a swipe at INEC to have wrongly relied on information it obtained from its INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal, to collate the final result of the governorship election.

The originating petition had suffered a setback at the tribunal which affirmed the election of Dauda Lawal. The immediate past governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election seems to be on a mission impossible. Yes, an impossible mission because his fate in the race for the gubernatorial seat has already been sealed by the popular mandate for Lawal. The people of Zamfara State are the deciding factor. the time is up for the ex-governor. No matter the desires of his ilk in Zamfara, which is rich in mineral resources.

As Achebe would say these are a committee of avaricious landlords, a colony of blood-sucking ticks, is expected to shower upon the bull on whose back they fatten. Their level of patriotism is one of the hallmarks of our nascent democracy but some privileged Nigerians whose general unearned position of sudden power and wealth is with no morals and sheer efficiency and effectiveness of good leadership strides should never be allowed to rule in this nation.

I want to believe we have a big problem in this nation and the problem is just our leadership style. We all lost it. The judicial system has lost; we are fast drifting away from the reality of a united and progressive Nigeria. The power wielders and the voting pattern are always in favour of anyone who can and will pay the piper.

To set the records straight, the affected LGAs court declared a rerun election are Maradun, Birnin-Magaji and Bukkuyum. They are the deciding factor…block votes for either APC or PDP. The votes will be canvassed by the two major parties. INEC has already recorded in its iREV 24,855 for APC in Maradun and 12, 661 votes for PDP. In Birnin-Magaji APC polled 9, 646  and PDP 8,991, while in Bukuyum LGA, APC received 10,321 votes and PDP 24,341. One can easily know the muscle of each party and its candidate. By way of simple analysis, PDP is stronger than APC in those LGAs.

The Plus and Minus of the political game in Zamfara is giving the PDP under Lawal's leadership a comfortable lead. A gap of 64,976 votes has been created and Dr Lawal polled total votes of 332,133 as against Matawalle’s 267,157 which are intact.

Should there be a rerun, PDP will still win. The people have since decided that Governor Dauda Lawal has given them a foretaste of good leadership. Mutawalle lost out to the then-opposition PDP. The people are still the same and the votes are known…no magic can displace the governor in office at the moment. All eyes are on the rerun!

The appeal court ruling is only a temporary setback for the PDP to regain much trust of the people to discard the APC in Zamfara State. It is not because the party is bad, but the leader has a blurred vision, enough to misunderstand the needs of the masses whose houses and means of livelihood were destroyed by bandits. The hearts of the people have far gone apart with the APC because the party has inflicted so much pain. No development to show for its rule from the Government House.

I see Dauda Lawal triumph again after the coming INEC rerun.

Nairaland / General / Abuja Belongs To Nigerians Says Comrade Afiyo by TGNEWS(m): 4:42am On Nov 15, 2023
...Says Atiku, others should join hands in developing the country

Comrade Elliot Afiyo is the 5th National President of the Northern Youth Leaders Forum (NYLF) the umbrella body of 42 Northern Youth Groups which was formed by the Northern Political, Military, Traditional and Religious Leaders on the 26th of September, 1994 with the sole aim of protecting and
propagating the Northern interest within the National Interest. The Forum has been very influential in the victories of all the presidential candidates since 1999 till date. The Forum also controls the majority of the Northern Youth especially at the rural areas of the North. NYLF has also produced a sizeable number of Governors, Senators, Representatives and Members of the State Houses of Assembly.

In this interview with the newsmen at Abeokuta after a meeting with
the former President Obasanjo for three hours, Comrade Afiyo who
is also a Senior Pastor of the RCCG and the Secretary –General of
the Association of West African Monarch (AWAM), bares his mind and that of the Forum on some burning national issues.
Excerpts:

Comrade Sir, you have been silent since the judgments of the presidential election tribunal and
subsequently, that of the Supreme Court, what necessitates
this silence sir?

Our Forum decided not to make any comment on these judgments until after consultations with our patrons. My visit today is part of the consultation process and I am glad to tell you that we have concluded that process and have addressed the press.

During that press conference, you made mention of your patrons coming together to support President Tinubu. Can we say then that it is your collective decision?

The Presidential Election Tribunal ruled that President Tinubu won the election and this judgment was affirmed by the Supreme Court. By implication, President Tinubu becomes the legal and constitutionally recognized president and Commander
in-chief at least for the next four years. This also implies that, his
decisions are binding on all Nigerians, his instructions must be
carried out, his commands must be obeyed and his actions are
legally backed up. There is nothing anybody could do to change or
alter this fact. Whether the judgments were wrongly delivered or not, they are binding on us and remain sacrosanct.

Our Patrons are advanced citizens and nationalists, and as patriots,
they have strong belief in the progressive and peaceful Nigeria. They have all agreed to support, encourage and participate in the
Renewed Hope Administration of president Bola Tinubu to salvage
our country despite their seeming differences.

I want you to know
that Tinubu is a divine project that will lay the foundation
for a greater Nigeria. He is definitely the Moses but not the Joshua

How soon are we going to witness this support Sir?

Very soon. They have given us go ahead to arrange for meetings and interfaces between them and the
President. We have already agreed to initiate the process. That
should be after our NEC meeting next week. We would surely
contact the president through one of our patrons who is close to
him.

Sir you made mention of lopsided appointment by
the present administration though you said it is not the first
time we are witnessing it. What do you suggest of the Federal
Character Commission?

The Federal Character Commission deals with the public and civil service recruitments and appointments. We are talking of political appointments here. If you listened to me very attentively during the press conference, you will observe that I made
an analogy comparing the disparity and the gap created by these
appointments since independence. Presidents Goodluck Jonathan
and Muhammadu Buhari widened this gap. Only President
Obasanjo that narrowed the gap both as a military Head of State and as well as a Democratic President. We are seeing another dimension towards this gap. As I said earlier, the Northerners must not complain. But can we continue this way as we strive towards a
united Nigeria?

The president to my own opinion, should create an independent
political appointments office to be headed by a Special Adviser
or Special Assistant to be reporting directly to him instead of
the present set up in the hands of his Chief of Staff or SGF.

Though it is impossible to balance up, it is very possible to
narrow the gap and create of a sense of belonging.

Some Northern clerics are claiming that Abuja belongs to the North and as such the minister must be a
Northerner. What do you have to say about it sir?

It is total ignorance or deliberate and calculated propaganda. Abuja belongs to Nigeria under the trust
of Mr. President. Nobody can dictate or force the president to
appoint a particular person as a minister from Sokoto or Kano
not to talk of Abuja. The President has the prerogative power
and right to appoint even a Herbalist or Babalawo as minister
of FCT subject to confirmation by the Senate under the
democratic dispensation.

When Lagos was the Federal Capital, Alhaji Mahmud Ribadu was appointed the Administrator of Lagos by the Prime Minister-Not a single Lagosian, Yoruba or Southerner came out to complain not to talk of claiming the ownership. Ribadu is adjudged today to be the best Administrator of Lagos ever produced because he made the master plan and ensured that it was obeyed and carried out even when his life was threatened by an acclaimed Babalawo. Today, we have the Tafawa balawa Square, Onikan Stadium, Defence House and the State House in Marina Lagos because Ribadu risked his life by ensuring that the master plan was adhered to. His Excellency Nyesom Wike should ignore all these threats and focus on the restoration of the Abuja master plan.

President Tinubu should also
give Wike the needed political freedom to do the needful.
If I may ask, if Abuja actually belongs to us as the clerics are
claiming, how many votes did President Tinubu get from the
supposed owners of Abuja that they are demanding for their
own to be made minister of the FCT?.

What do you think is the way forward against this
propaganda?

The government should do something fast and urgently too, to counter this propaganda before the rural northern population is polluted. You know they have rigid beliefs and are subservient to indoctrination. If such is not done, the Tinubu’s administration will encounter a very stiff and unimaginable opposition and hatred, which will make that of Jonathan’s administration a child’s play.

On our own part, we have directed our local government coordinators to engage in rural awareness to counter this propaganda.

There was a video of a cleric calling for prayers and incantations against President Tinubu and Wike. ( Cuts in).

Who is he that will harm you if you are a doer of that which is good? No divination against Jacob shall stand. Only the counsel of the Lord shall prevail. Do you know how many prayers were offered against President Tinubu’s victory and assumption of office? God answers prayers on one condition. That is, if you pray according to His
will, He answers. Do you know that some churches declared fasting and prayers including night vigils against Tinubu? I was referred to and called a suspect by my one of our pastors because I did not support Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and later Peter Obi? Where are
they now? Many pastors openly declared them as God’s choice. I
laughed because they have Samuelic mentality which prophet
Samuel displayed in the house of Jesse. (I Sam 16:6-7).

You are one of Atiku’s strong pillars and confidants. What is your advice to him now that the Supreme Court has affirmed President Tinubu’s victory.

Atiku has done his best towards deepening and strengthening our democracy and democratic institutions and structures. He has said on several occasions that he will appeal to God after the Supreme Court verdict. When somebody appeals to God, it means he has nothing to do or say again. He either waits for God’s goodwill, permissive and acceptable will or perfect and affirmative will.

As I said earlier, the Supreme Court has settled all the issues concerning the 2023 presidential elections. President Tinubu is now
the authentic and constitutional president of Nigeria. All our
political differences must be buried for now. All hands must be on
deck to assist and support the president to succeed. Assuredly, I
am telling you now, we are 100% behind President Tinubu. That
does not mean that we can’t give him constructive criticisms.

What is your stand concerning the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas?

I am neither for Israel nor Hamas. I am not against Israel nor Hamas. I am for peace and I am totally against Illuminati who are deliberately initiating and sponsoring wars and conflicts to destroy lives and property to reduce the world’s population.

The Adamawa State APC Critical stakeholder also congratulated Mr Abdullahi Ganduje, the party's national chairman for working so hard to ensure they win.

Politics / Adamawa APC Stalwart Congratulates Hope, Says Anyone NLC Rejected Wins Election by TGNEWS(m): 3:02pm On Nov 10, 2023
By Tom Garba, Yola

A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, APC, from Adamawa State, Mallam Uba Dan'arewa has congratulated the Governor of Imo State, Mr Hope Ozedinma for winning Saturday's Governorship election.

He Said is sure of Hope's victory therefore congratulating him in advance because anyone that Organized Labor rejected in Nigeria won the election.

Dan'arewa recalled how former Governor of Taraba state, Late Danbaba Sontai was rejected by the state-organized Labor and won his election without their single support.

Dan'arewa recalled how Sontai bluntly told the Taraba state chapter of the Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC) "I summoned you here to let you know that I don't need your votes, I will not forgive you guys if you vote for me" and he won the election neat and clear.

The APC founding praised the leadership qualities of Hope Ozedas as being of national interest, a Man who has provided many dividends of democracy.

"This Man has the tract record that he can't fail again, his tract records of development will certainly make him win the election," Dan'arewa said

He accused NLC of joining politics with the union's principles, according to him the union has never brought something better than strikes.

Worried that kidnapping activities are on a rampage in all parts of the country, there has been all sort of killings and NLC has never called for a a strike.

According to him the union leader is partisan and is not good for the NLC to keep as a leader.

"I'm surprised by the NLC's decision to ground the country's economy because of one Man. All the university Staff and Students were kidnapped in many Nigerian institutions of higher learning the NLC didn't call for a strike. Despite all the insecurity challenges orchestrated by many the NLC has not gone on strike. The economy is not doing well they have not called for a strike, yet because of one selfish Man they are trying to ground the State.

"Well, it's on History that anyone that NLC not supported win his or her election. So what happened in Taraba during the Danbaba Sontai time will repeat itself in Imo state. So I'm congratulating Hope in Advance" Dan'arewa Said

He called on the people of Imo state to massively come out in their numbers to vote for Hope because the continuity of his Government is Peace, progress, unity, and development of Imo.

"I'm talking as a Northerner and an activist of good governance. Hope is a bridge builder connecting the North and South of Nigeria. Hope is happiness, bridging the gap between the Igbos and other tribes in Nigeria.

"I condemned the NLC's decision to go on strike. It shows the NLC in Imo is not patriotic because of their partisan Leader calling for a strike and there have been killings." He Said

Crime / Insecurity: National Defense College Participants Visit Hama Bachama by TGNEWS(m): 1:31pm On Nov 10, 2023

....harps on nation building through security and Education investment

By Tom Garba, Yola

Hama Bachama, Chairman Bachama Traditional Council Homun Dr. Daniel Shaga Ismaila, CON, (Kpawo Nomwe Gilongo Diya) has maintained that insecurity remains the most significant hindrance to farming and agriculture, development of critical infrastructure, education, tourism and socio-economic development in general.

The Monarch made this statement in his Palace at Numan, Adamawa state, Northeast Nigeria on Thursday when he received in audience 38 participants of Course 32 of the National Defense College who are in the State on a study tour.

He told the visitors that until now, the state, most especially the Southern zone and in particular Numan federation where his domain is located had suffered diverse security challenges like conflicts between herders and farmers, frequent invasion of innocent communities by aliens, kidnap for ransom amongst herders, among other crisis prone disputes, for which reason he appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for putting in a lot of effort, human and material resources to stabilize the security situation of the state.

Politics / Why Zamfara Governor Lawal Sails Above Predecessor's Malice by TGNEWS(m): 1:12pm On Nov 10, 2023
By Tom Garba

Recently, in Zamfara State, I have seen what is better described as chasing shadows, ostensibly in self-defence by the immediate past governor and Minister of State for defence, Bello Mutawalle. Through his collaborators and pundits who, years ago, helped to rock the Zamfara economy by aiding and abetting bandits pillaging the solid minerals endowment of the state.

Some weeks ago these "bad belle" detractors launched needless and reckless attacks on the character and reputation of Dr Dauda Lawal, the incumbent governor whom Zamfara voters overwhelmingly  accepted and rejected Mutawalle's bid for re-election. Why won't the return bid fail when he failed woefully to deliver on promises while his tenure lasted.

The subversive actions of the junior  minister clearly show him to be on a mission to collapse Zamfara State and cover up the atrocious records of his cohorts who have squandered state funds on bandits by legalising and commercialising their activities.

Mutawalle's four years of failure earned him the disrepute of the worst governor-in-performance since the state was created in 1996 and the history of Northern Nigeria. During his tenure nothing was seen working well and the state was on the pages of newspapers for bad reasons. It made headlines because of the nefarious activities of bandits. Physical infrastructure, performing indices of development, and per capita income of citizens were zero.

Mutawalle's rejection at the polls is a blessing and the wisest decision the people of Zamfara have ever taken. They now have a man with the Midas touch in Governor Lawal. Now, he is systematically clipping the wings of the bandits. He is the solution provider and the headway for the Zamfara rescue.

The voter rejection of Mutawalle and the acceptance of Dr Lawal are boldfaced realities that Mutawalle and co and his collaborators are still unable not come to terms with.

Mutawalle's sponsoring of syndicated media attacks on Governor Lawa is nothing but accumulated grievances and envy arising from Dauda booting him out of power.

He was useless as governor. The people then chased him down to avert a situation generated by desperation and unbridled ambition garbed in recklessness, lawlessness, impunity, and unproductiveness.

His resolve in throwing tantrums because of his sullen records in the gubernatorial saddle, being unveiled, is making him sorely afraid. He uses the total occupation of the media space (mainstream and the social variant) in defence of his inept, erstwhile government. Unfortunately, all they professed in the media against Dr Lawal are conjectures, half-truths, and opinions from the opposition.  There is no objective analysis of the government which is less than a year in office. Critics of the governor may be lost in a desert and just going in circles without an oasis in sight, it is a mirage, trying to cast Governor Lawal down. All the same, thanks to all critics, their uncoordinated attacks are nothing but gasoline in the flame of the incumbent.

An Hausa adage says, "Hassada ga Mai rabo taki che," meaning a good man's enemies are his propellers to greatness. This is what I see of Governor Lawal and his organised enemies.

It's a sacred fact that former Governor Mutawalle was giving money to bandits. The Pandora's box opened by Hon Abdulmalik Gajam, the Zamfara Commissioner for Economy and Planning, has frustrated the former Governor who ended up hiring attack dogs to defend the obvious shoddy deals of his failed government.

I thought Mutawalle's leadership pervasion would end up seeking the mercy of God for ruining the state with his style of leadership, asking the people of Zamfara State to forgive him of any infractions caused during his tenure.

Unfortunately, I see a man high on power Viagra. It's sad to see the cookies crumble this way and this late anyway.

I see Governor Lawal's enemies to have embarked on a political journey of no return. They are on endless errands, more of fetching water with a basket to water the ground.

The prowling of the media space by his lackeys and loyalists was pre-planned as a condition precedent to muddying the dirty waters because of the current position he occupied as one of the country's security stakeholders. A man who was allegedly sponsoring killers as bandits with state funds. His actions were indeed senseless and no sensible person with a sound mind can do that.

My honest advice to those fanning embers of war in Zamfara should end it now because the shedder of blood will soon see the wrath of God. No wicked soul shall go unpunished. The soul that sins shall certainly perish because the blood of the innocent is crying daily for vengeance.

Finally, the Honourable Minister State should use his good offices to usher in peace, not only in Zamfara but also the whole of Nigeria. I pray Mutawalle sees the that it's Dauda's time, God has willed it and his rejection is equally the will of God.

Nairaland / General / DTAC DG, Other Officials Meet Volunteers, Education Minister, Varsity Don In Uga by TGNEWS(m): 8:33am On Nov 09, 2023
The Director-General, Directorate of Technical Aid Corps, Rt. Hon. ( Dr.) Yusuf Buba Yakub, has said that the Technical Aid Corps Scheme remains an instrument of Nigeria's Foreign Policy through which the President Tinubu Administration wishes to continue to deploy soft-power diplomacy to countries of Africa, Caribbean and the Pacific in line with the Nigeria's President 4-D Agenda.

Rt. Hon. Buba, who stated this in Kampala, Uganda,Tuesday, when he met separately with Volunteers serving in the TAC Scheme,Vice Chancellors of Universities hosting the Volunteers in Uganda as well as the Hon.Minisiter of Education and Sports in that country, also emphasized the enormous advantages that soft power wields over coercion in nation-to-nation relations.

Buba, who also observed that strong bilateral ties and relations had existed between Nigeria and Uganda even before the establishment of Country Missions in their both capital cities, reminded his diverse audiences that Nigeria recognized early its immense potential in human and natural resources and, therefore ,took an Afro-centric stance to contribute to the development of sister- African countries as well as countries with sizable black populations across other continents in what is generally known as South-South co-operation.

He said the provision of manpower to such African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries was a deliberate move that was meant to not only bridge the gap in capacities lacking in those nations, but to develop the needed skills among such host nations towards the attainment of self-reliance.

He said:
"Uganda and Nigeria have come a long way.I recall that the first Chief Justice of Uganda,Justice Udo Udoma, was an eminent Nigerian jurist from today's Cross River State. It is no wonder, therefore, that when the TAC Scheme came on board with the establishment of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps in 1987, Uganda became one of the first countries to receive Volunteers and benefit from the Scheme in 1988.

"About 35 years after,I am happy to observe that we have continued to deploy quality Volunteers to Uganda. These Volunteers, from what we have gathered in the course of this visitation and from what University authorities have, specifically, told us,have continued to discharge their duties with dexterity and knowledge and have been adjudged by all as worthy Ambassadors of the Nigerian nation, who have exemplified character, conduct and learning wherever they are currently serving, " the erstwhile federal lawmaker noted.

Earlier, during interactions with the Volunteers at the Nigerian Mission in Kampala, where they had gathered to receive the DTAC delegation, most of the 75 Volunteers that range from Senior Lecturers,Associate Professors and Professors, among whom are Faculty Deans,Heads of Departments and Directors of Schools in the four different Universities where they are serving in Uganda, expressed appreciations for the benefits the TAC Scheme has provided to them to contribute to global development and to return to Nigeria better.

Also in the course of interactions with the Vice Chancellor of Kampala International University,Prof.Mouhamad Mpezamihigo, that of Canvendish University, Prof. John Mogisha as well as Associate Prof. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda of Islamic University in Uganda( IUIU) and the representative of the Vice Chancellor of Kabale University, who is also Dean , Faculty of Engineering in the institution, Prof.Moses N. Twesigye-Omwe, the DTAC delegation was enthralled at the level of encomiums poured on the TAC Scheme Volunteers in the four citadels of higher learning where they are serving. The authorities of the various schools, it must be noted, recommited to receiving more Volunteers apart from expressing the wish to retain some of them whose two-year service tenure are nearing completion.

While also visiting the Hon. Minister for Education and Sports, the DTAC delegation was elated to note that the Hon.Minister of State for Primary Education,a Medical Consultant,Dr.Joyce Kalucha, who stood in for her colleague in the Higher Education section of the Ministry headed by Janet Museveni, the nation's First Lady that also doubles as the substantive Minister of Education and Sports, was herself trained by a Nigerian Volunteer in the TAC Scheme in the early years of the Scheme.

The Ugandan team, which apart from the Hon.Minister of State, comprises the Commissioner for Higher Education,Timothy Musoke Ssejjoba;the Director,Higher Education;Dr.Sophia Museene and Mpyangu Godfrey Andrew, Senior Assistant Secretary, among others, informed the Nigerian delegation of ongoing reforms in the Ugandan education sector. Nairaland / General / Gov Lawal Set To Fight Bandits, Forms CPG Security Outfit by TGNEWS(m): 7:02am On Nov 09, 2023
By Tom Garba

Governor Dauda Lawal disclosed that his administration is making strides in the battle against banditry and related crimes in the state.

The Zamfara State Governor on Wednesday revealed that the first batch of the Community Protection Guards (CPG) recruited from all 14 Local Government Areas will be mobilized to the training camp within a week.

A statement by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, noted that Governor Lawal received the whitepaper of the transition committee at the council chamber, Government House Gusau.

He added that the whitepaper was presented by a committee led by Alhaji Bello Umar Karakkai, former Head of Service, Zamfara State.

“Governor Dauda Lawal, while speaking during the presentation of the whitepaper on the transition committee report, commended the committee for their thorough job of examining the report and presenting the Government's position on the various issues and recommendations raised in the report.

“The Whitepaper Committee was informed by the need to satisfy the overriding interest of the public in studying the various recommendations and the issues raised by the Transition Committee 2023 and coming up with the Government's position. This aligns with the Zamfara government’s quest to address the various issues relating to public service and the general administration.

“The Governor also appreciated both the Transition Committee and the writers of the Whitepaper on how they extensively examined a wide range of issues relating to the development of Zamfara State. These include the broader question of governance reform and its key components, such as public service and financial reforms.

“He further assured that in the course of the implementation of the Whitepaper, his government will be guided by the collective interest of the people in building a more secure and prosperous Zamfara State, which should rightfully occupy its place in the comity of the states of the federation.

“The State Government is committed to implementing the whitepaper as soon as it concludes the evaluation of the various positions adopted by the committee.

“Governor Lawal expressed commitment to taking concrete actions in response to the recommendations. As part of his well-rounded and effective response, we will establish administrative and judicial committees of inquiry where the need arises. These committees will be crucial in scrutinizing and addressing the issues raised in the Whitepaper.

"The administrative committee will focus on implementing practical and policy-related recommendations, while the judicial committee will investigate various issues of impropriety committed by individuals and apply appropriate sanctions accordingly.”

Nairaland / General / Abba Girei: Nigeria's Democracy Needs Judicial Reforms To Survive by TGNEWS(m): 4:20pm On Nov 07, 2023
By Ibrahim Khaleel

The 2023 election litigations have been largely concluded except for gubernatorial cases still being adjudicated at the courts.

In the court of public opinion however, Many Nigerians have been left disappointed and dissatisfied by the performance of Inec as the electoral umpire while others have faulted the judicial process for failing to meet the spirit of the law and align with the yearnings and aspirations of voters leading to a growing call for urgent legislative and judicial reforms to address the gaps ahead of the next election cycle.

Many Nigerians believe there have been too many conflicting judgments that lead many to believe justice is being sacrificed at the altar of technicality or fallibility.

A case in point can be found in Adamawa where Hon Muhammed Salihu Abba Gerei recently lost his seat at the national assembly as a member representing Yola North, Yola South, Gerei federal constituency despite winning the election at the ballot and the tribunal.

The victory was however cut short by the court of appeal which happens to be the bus stop for national assembly election litigations.

Regardless of the quality of the verdict, that is the end of the story.
Constitutionally, the hierarchy of the litigations terminates at the court of appeal which is a function of laws and procedures that need to change in light of what many describe as a miscarriage of justice.

Despite the many precedents that have been set by several judgments at the Supreme Court, the court's appeal in its ruling on the matter appears to hold a different view.

This development although regrettable has compelled Mohammed Salihu to champion the cause of judicial reform in Nigeria to forestall future miscarriage of justice not because he lost his seat but because he is a true believer in democracy.

His call for judicial reform is anchored on the need for an amendment to allow the Supreme become the last hope of Litigants in federal elections.

A change that will help restore the faith of Nigerians in the judicial process.
Hon Mohammed Salihu wants the national assembly to swing into action and remedy the situation as soon as possible.

Nigeria’s democracy needs these reforms to survive and if justice must be served, politicians who lose at the polls must not be allowed to use the judiciary as a back door into office.

Alas! Court Verdicts that perverse the outcome of a free, fair, and credible election cannot be more important than the will of the people who have made their choice through the ballot.

The misinterpretation of the verdict of the court of appeal has been used to suggest that Hon Mohammed Salihu can no longer hold public office is only adding insult to injury because nothing can be further from the truth.

Nairaland / General / Suleiman: A Good Man In The Journey Of Stardom As The Tambarin Mubi by TGNEWS(m): 2:06pm On Nov 07, 2023
By
Tom Garba, Yola

According to American popular Neuron surgeon and author of the world best selling books: "Gifted Hands, You Have a Brain, Ben Carson's Story and Think Big,'' Dr. Ben Carson asserted that good people are a product of good leadership. A good Man can birth out good leadership wherever he finds himself.

Mallam Abubakar Suleiman Tela is a Man decked with virtues of goodness, he has placed his hand in the plow of integrity and barked on a journey to stardom. Leadership they said is about bringing the future to the present. The ability to solve problems and the person who initiates and proffer solutions to problems is called a leader. These are the qualities Bears and the world knows him with the emblem of releasing what is good for humanity.

Suleiman is a considerate ordinary citizen, a mere civil servant who is a professional accountant with the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority (UBRBDA) has written his name in gold, he always gives portends of newer versions of concrete developments in the organization where he finds himself to work for our Dear Country. Haven supports the introduction of a ladder that is set in focal of people-oriented policy culminating in real infrastructural growth noticed in Yola UBRBDA. Suleiman has become a radiant Star who is always trusting in the power of God to do what will benefit humanity with a renewed hope of a better tomorrow.

What he does and his performances of work in the lengths and widths of the Yola UBRBDA have given him superficial confidence and respect. The Joy of many in the state will last if only Suleiman will be seen as a coming leader who has a dream for a new Adamawa.

His love for humanity is bringing a lot of agitations to be in a strategic place of leadership to do more for people, as the norms he is known for in helping the generality of people irrespective of tribe, religion, and even place of origin.

Rating his credibility and confidence one will be convinced to say that Nigeria still has a future, it's no longer a bleak moment, and the generation of future credible leaders is bigger in the country against the backdrop of the present situation that the country's economy is in the state of mockery and a long chain of retrogression.

Suleiman is one such symbol of hope, in him are threads of leadership, an individual with the right influence, inspiration, determination, and self-discipline to become a great leader.
Suleiman's lifestyle of humility and giving back to society all he has, he has successfully laced his life with classical philanthropic, less political tendencies reaching out to people, and giving comfort to the less privileged. It was therefore not surprising when the Emir of Mubi, His Royal Highness, the Lamido, Alhaji Abubakar Isah Ahmadu recognized his greatness and decided to crown him with the special traditional title of TAMBARIN MUBI. Meaning a Star from the Horizon, shining bright for the interest of the entire Mubi Emirate with his selfless service to the people of Adamawa and beyond.

Like the proverbial lion that's not afraid to face the impossible and take the maximum risk. Suleiman believes that no matter which ethnic group, race, or religion we may belong to, our needs for help, acceptance, and motivation remain the same across the globe. It is this belief that pushes him to continuously support and sponsor youths in education and all human endeavors across the state.

With his steady humanitarian gesture, honesty, doggedness, hard work, and career focus, many in Adamawa have seen him have a fast-growing reputation as a selfless leader. They are of the view that in an age characterized by an obvious dearth of selfless leaders, Suleiman carved a niche for himself as a man of the people, a leader who has the best interest of his people at heart.
The TAMBARIN Mubi is an inspiration to many, and has left his footprints in the sand of time, his achievement speaks volumes. For him, a good political or civil servant life is not measured in the number of years but in its quality, it is not how far but how well.

Many are looking and counting on him to be one of the major decision-makers in UBRBDA and to have the power to inspire people from all walks of life. Great orators can and do change the world. They can speak simple and fundamental truths for all people and for all time. But it is not enough to simply convey a vision; you have to make firm political decisions and get things done to realize that vision. This is exactly what TAMBARIN Mubi has done all his life in civil service.

A good leader is not made overnight and TAMBARIN Mubi is sure a good example of charity begins at home. He is a story of how a man was groomed to be a selfless leader with an innate ability and concerted effort to reach that height.
I have no doubt in my mind that Abubakar Suleiman Tela, the TAMBARIN Mubi is redefining leadership and making history in Adamawa state and Nigeria as a whole.

I am not trying to paint TAMBARIN Mubi as a saint without any flaws. He had his shortcomings too, after all, to err is only human. There are a few things he did that could have been done in a better way. But if you are looking for a person close to perfection in life and humanity, look no further than Mallam Abubakar Suleiman Tela

Politics / Gov Dauda Holds The Scepter Of L'ship, Driving Zamfara To Greater Heights by TGNEWS(m): 8:50am On Nov 03, 2023
By:
Tom Garba, Yola

Nigeria is lucky to have a Man currently holding the scepter of Leadership for the people of Zamfara, North West Nigeria, His Excellency, Mr Dauda Lawal the Executive Governor of the State.

The Man Dauda was not crowned the Governor because of his strength or wisdom, he was because God formed and predestined him to be and God saw what no man, not even the Prophets of the Land were able to see in him. The Young Man in the building up of the 2023 elections became a man after the people of Zamfara's heart, a God's choice who had the heart and nature of a great leader. He risked his life through a journey of wilderness experience as an educated individual, a business technocrat and a highly skilled and trained leader having gone to leadership schools both home and abroad in preparation for the call of leadership on him for the people of Zamfara. The true mark of leadership bequeathed on him by nature and destiny.

Is firmly holding the scepter, a staff in his hand of a leading leader signifying knowledge, wisdom, passion, focus, innovation, precision, and an enigma of sovereign authority. With this virtue on him on resuming office, the Young visionary Governor hits the ground running by assuring the people of Zamfara State of nipping into the bud the activities of bandits raising their ugly heads and meeting all sorts of uncivil and lawless attacks on unarmed civilians.

He pledged to sustain the war of fighting bandits who have commercialized and legalized kidnapping and illegal mining in the state. The heinous activities of bandits in the State of Dauda came on board with a scepter of true leadership to turn the state into an enviable state of development. No wonder his few months in office have since become a sigh of relief for the people of the state concerning the evil acts of bandits. Kingpin like Dog Gide and his sponsors and cohorts has taken to their heels, running and hiding because Dauda has unleashed the terror of true leadership on anyone who is refused to be law-abiding.

Zamfara is one of the agrarian States as land with virga in vast of L, the promising working Governor has started turning the economy's potential through Agriculture. One of his policy statements is to revive agriculture of the state where agricultural goods can be exported.

Because of how Dauda is well ready and positioned to take Zamfara to the next level everything seems to fight for his attention; news of his new dreams for the state, gossip of his new approach to Governance, and course the support of the Stakeholders, people in the ruling communities supporting his revving policies.

A leader's ability to lead excellently depends on his perception and ability to recognize God’s handiwork in every atom. This is another area that Dauda believes that the Government of Zamfara, with him sitting on the driving site navigating the affairs to a Haven great development is an act of God Almighty. He has not failed in the area of prayers for God to make him another Moses or David of our time.

One of the many tests a great leader undergoes is the TEST OF INSIGHT. God will test your ability to accurately discern before He commits the destinies of people into your hands. For me, Dauda is an endorsement of God for the people of Zamfara. He is working and putting every single part of the system in place. The ability in him is so glaring that even the opposition with their machinations at the lower courts are falling flat because no one can be content with the will of God, Dauda Lawal is God's ordained, designed, prepared, and packaged well for the people of Zamfara.

He is with the Scepter, standing as an emblem and symbol of the good leadership prepared by God to lead. It's good to say that God has used Men from time immemorial to meet the needs of men. He reveals the destinies of people and nations to Leaders is using. Dauda is another Man I can tentatively say God has sent for not only Zamfara State but Nigeria as a nation.

I call on all Zamfara Sons and Daughters to give him the maximum support.

Nairaland / General / Ethnic Cleansing Looms In Nassarawa As Umbugadu Gets Tribunal Victory-victom by TGNEWS(m): 5:48pm On Nov 01, 2023
Many have faulted the Tribunal Victory of Mr David Umbugadu, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Nassarawa against the incumbent Governor, Engr Abdullahi A. Sule of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The fear of many indigenes of the state, especially the non Eggon tribes is however the growing spade of the known Eggon ancestral Occultic group led by its former traditional leader, late Baba Alakyo because of David's Victory.

You would recalled that ten years ago there was a heinous killing of security agents reported to have occasioned by the Ombatse group and at the instance of it's spiritual leader, Baba Alakio.

Since the declaration of Mr David at the Election Tribunal petition fears has grieved other tribes in Nassarawa how the Eggon ancestral Occultic group, Ombatse is rearing its ugly head.

The killing of over one hundred Nigeria security men ten years ago by the Ombatse group is still fresh with scaring looks in the minds of the people.

David whose victory is celebrated among the Ombatse group has now turned other ethnic nationalities, Stakeholders of other tribes and security personnels afraid of survival.

To people like Mrs Mariam whose husband, a Police officer was killed by the Ombatse group ten years ago the coming of Mr David as the Governor of Nassarawa state will no doubt resurrect the activities of the Eggon secret cult to even operate in a broad day light.

In Nassarawa and the whole of Nigeria Tuesday the seventh of May 2013 was a black day to be remembered as a brutally that killed ruthless security forces by the Eggon local militia in Alakyo, Nassarawa Local Government.

The death of these security was unabated ten years ago and killers are yet to be brought to book. The Ombatse cult is growing stronger, the country is moving on- but the families of the slain await to get justice.

The fear of many is that David's Victory is going to bring a lot of chaos in the state with is Eggon Militia group feeling it's their time to do whatever they want to do.

Politics / FCT Minister: Wike Is Doing Well, Leave Him Alone-hon Nzonzo Vrati by TGNEWS(m): 12:47pm On Oct 29, 2023

....says is returning Abuja to a world model City

By Tom Garba, Yola

A committed Member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, Hon Vrati S Nzonzo yelled out against what he described as unfortunate comments of some Muslim clerics calling on the removal of the FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesome Wike.

Vrati who is a staunch grassroots politician said some religious Clerics are reducing the issues of Governance along religion and ethnicity lines.

According to him, it is very sad and most unfortunate that in Nigeria someone will have the guts to tell the world that they will run down the government, and bring down the President in the next election if he doesn't kick Wike out of office.

Nzonzo said those preaching and fanning embers of hatred against some parts of the country to understand that Wike is a full-blooded Nigeria and no one will remove him for saying the obvious and doing the right thing.

He praised Wike for doing well and so far performing better in trying to restore the master plan of Abuja, the country's glorious image as FCT which was long time ago bastardized because primordial sentiments.

He condemned the call by those seeking Wike's removal to leave him alone to focus on the job for the overall interest of Nigerians who are in dire need of leaders like him.

" It is very unfortunate that someone will come out and say because Wike is a Christian he shouldn't be the Minister of the FCT. And it is also very sad for somebody to say because Wike is not a Northerner, or a Muslim doesn't have the criteria of being the FCT Minister." Nzonzo said

He accused some religious Clerics of instigating people against the FCT Minister, he believe the Present Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not happy about it too.

"All of us are one, equal before and even after the Law, in this country no religion, tribe, individual (s) or any part of the country should claim superiority over any. There are requirements and as long as anyone meets those requirements he or she can be given an appointment.

"Let me also say it as a matter of emphasis that Wike is one of the best leaders we have in this country. In terms of performance credentials, I hardly can see anyone who can match his track record.

"It is very clear he performed well when he was the Governor of River State. I must say, this man has much to offer. And like he has always said he came into this administration with his head on delivering good leadership virtues for nation building not to a selected few Nigerians but the entire country because he came based on merit and not empty handed as many will think." He said

Nzonzo continued to say that Wike is a political juggernaut and that without him APC would not have won Rivers state because is a PDP state with a 99% high strength of the party against APC, the opposition party.

"We won our election in River State because of the Wike factor, his people like him, and his performance endeared him close to the people he is most right to be rewarded with any position by the Tinubu's Led administration.

"In the whole of South-South PDP is like a religion just like in the whole of North West APC is religion but Wike was able to break even and got a chunk of votes for the first time in the history of River state." He added.

The former Lamurde Local Government Council chairman area of Adamawa said Wike is a sound political material that any serious politician will not want to ignore. Any student of politics will want to associate himself with the likes of Wike.

Nzonzo wondered about the kind of magic Wike did to win the River for APC, how he convinced his people to support President Tinubu.

"There is something good about this government, for the first FCT Minister was given to South South since the creation of Abuja forty years ago.

"The appointment is the first of its kind for the Niger Delta region and Wike being the first person has become a center of gossip, political propaganda and unguarded statements by our clerics

"We his supporters and anyone else that care to know, Wike is one of the best brains we have in leadership circle of this country when you consider his achievements and political capacity to deliver. Anyhow You look at it, Wike deserve all this support and people should rally round him in solidarity for his strides of leadership to succeed.

"So I want to lend my voice to all those who are calling for his removal not to hit the polity with extremist views. What I'm saying they please be urgents of unity and peace so that we can have the development and the good governance we are all desire rather than being agents of division and persecution.

"May I also make it clear that Wike is an excellent Nigerian and I believe he's the best choice for Abuja as a Minister judging from his track records. No wonder we have already started seeing real changes in so many places, and I know in few years to come Abuja will take its rightful place as a model city not just in Africa, but in whole world." Nzonzo added

Politics / Tribunal Verdict: It's A Prayer Answered, Fintiri Continue The Good Work Now Tha by TGNEWS(m): 8:29pm On Oct 28, 2023

...Surely you shall still overcome shall there be any coming murky waters

By Tom Garba

You would recall that the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Adamawa State, Mr Humwashi Wonosikou few days ago issued a statement calling on the people of the state to pray for His Excellency, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to mark his 56th birthday celebration.
Governor Fintiri solicited Prayers as a birthday gift to Adamawa State citizens and Nigerians on sundry issues some of which are the judgment delivered today challenging his authenticity as the substantive Governor of the state.

At the Tribunal today, three Man Judges with Justice Theodore Ulojo as the leading Judge spent over six hours thrashing out line by line, one by one the petition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate, Senator Aishatu Ahmed Dahiru (Binani).

The Judge snowed bow his judgement by nose-diving simple "Dismissal" for lacking electoral regulations, it became a breakout celebration in the city of Yola, Jimeta, Numan, Michika, and Madagali. The whole state was turned into a wild jubilation that Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is the confirmed Governor of the state as declared by the Tribunal judges.

I recalled how the prayers of many people both the old and Young thronged the social media praying for him to succeed as Governor, especially on today's judgement.

It's a battle won, a victory for the people of Adamawa State. The Faith I now have on the governor is strong enough to paddle him through the many waters of coming Court litigations shall there be appeal by aggrieved candidates as it is already done by candidates of the SDP, Dr Umar Ardo.

Be it murky or shallow water, be it a fiction and frivolous.

My Governor Sir, Continue the good work. Your records of achievements now speak well of you that the God who started a good thing for with will finish it to the end of your journey as the substantive Governor of Adamawa State as pronounced by the Electoral Tribunal Court.

The prayers of millions of people around the world will guide and guard you through coming to any legal tussles. The prayers of the saints and the good people of Adamawa State will fight, defend, keep, and make you a survivor of the, a Governor leading the government of a common Man.

I congratulate you on this historic moment of Adamawa's political journey. Keep working Sir, keep the tempo of your good and excellent work of the Urban renewal mandate high and wide to the nooks and crannies of the State.

You are a Lion, tip-toeing the land of beauty for the Masses' sake. You are a Tiger, wild and gallant, fearless and focused to Dare the impossible. Of course, you are Sheep, harmless and gentle, innocent and calm to serve the people of Adamawa well.

These prayers are still with you, they are still backing you from now to any day coming when someone will still shout nay in disagreement with what the Judge of our Land pronounced.

It's a prayer answer all the time, because the God you serve, we serve is a faithful God from now even to the end of time.
Congratulations Sir, now that the Battle is over.
