Oga, they're all darkskinned, lol. You can still tell a lightskinned person apart from a darkskinned person even in a black and white photograph. I've always noticed Igbos being ashamed of their darkskinned ancestors. Why is that? Even when you guys are predominantly darkskinned?
Mugu, so in your mind Igbos are predominantly darkskinned?
In every 3 dark skinned Igbo you'll find 7 light skinned ones unlike my Yoruba people that it's very rare to find a light skinned person without using those cheap roadside "bleaching Oshe".

Ibadan still be like this? I did ND there so it hasn't still changed. I remember the large number of brown roofs seen from the hilltop roads. The thing is freaking amazing
Yes! In fact, 8 out of every 10 roofs are brown rusty roofs.

We are, in essence, saying the same thing.

I am saying that African countries depend too much on selling resources and importing stuff...at the expoense of induistries, and at the expense of research and development.

Sorry you missed that.
Okay, we are good then. You see ehn....the problem with African countries seems homogenous in nature. Do you know how much the western world's budget for human capital I.e research and development? A lot!
What most of us were taught in school is "Export should be higher than import but none emphasised on the quality of exports.
Nigeria mostly exports raw goods that are mostly prices low in the international markets.
Unless we start paying attention to quality education that will enhance and spark brains that will revolutionize science and technology we will continue to remain underdeveloped.

So, why are most African countries , including those without a Muslim population , STILL as broke as Nigeria is, and take loans well well, like Nigeria?

Because they are all resource dependent countries. They run economies which believe in selling oil or whatever, at prices we don't control, and which never reach the level we want it to be, and using the revenue to import and import.

Which stifles industrial growth, and leads to a massive lack of jobs...and leads to Southerners saying that your certificate does not matter, and Northerners saying Boko HARAM.

Zambia is a Christian majority country , and has no Muslim majority, yet is as broke as Nigeria, with a lower GDP...because they rely on copper whose price is not as high as they want it to be, and use their revenue to import and import...and they spend more on imports because they are landlocked.(Transit fees)

Uganda and Kenya are in the same boat. As are most subsaharan African countries.

The UAE is like Botswana...they earn a lot of oil money for their small populaiton, so they can afford all kinds of goodies. But they don't have much of a domestic industry, and the minute the oil runs out...or electic power cars become a reality...they will be as broke as we are now.
Keep your mouth shut! You know nothing about economics.
Population can play a positive impact or negative impact depending on how it's being managed.
The problem with African countries, especially Nigeria is that they fail to invest in human capital.
Even when China was practising Autarky, they still had the wisdom to sending most of their scholars to the west especially the US to acquire knowledge and come back to use the same knowledge to grow their economy.
If I may ask, how is Nigeria fairing in research and development? Sebi you and I were here when the head of an agency charged with the responsibility of promulgating science and technology went to the Senate to brag about optimizing Kilishi production.
With all these, how do you think Nigeria as a country will navigate herself from economic quagmire and doldrums and catapult herself into economic prosperity.

You guys should Stop wasting your time on these ijaw or Izon people.
Once an Ijaw man wakes up in the morning, he puts on his hat, ties a wrapper round his waist and grabs his walking stick off he goes to GBARAMATU creek to join his mates in drinking Ogogoro mixed with kain kain where they serenade themselves with songs from Chief Kingsley Takemobo and Alfred JKing while staring at the backside of ijaw women going to the farm.
Ijaw people are okay with their 13% percent oil derivatives as long as there's continuous supply of Ogogoro, roasted fish and plantain, nothing dey happen.

When discussing important issues u need to present concrete assertion not the usual emotional hatred and excessive jealousy. Before accusing others for ur state's mayhem and bad governance u need to check the effort of ur Governors. This is what lead us to where we are today; instead of demanding good governance at all level of Govt, our Governors learnt that the struggle is purely ethno-religious bigotry not serious movement. How can indigene of Benue, Bayelsa, Delta, Ekiti, Enugu, Katsina, Taraba, or Zamfara have the gut to insult PMB when he has the worst grassroots monumental failure as his Governor?
Niger Delta has Ministry, they receive 13% derivation and receive highest allocation with nothing to show but u are here shamelessly accusing Fulani for the problem that doesn't exist. Before advertising ur ignorance and poor comprehension problem, u need to check and understand the content of PIB bill which u even wrongly quoted.
You will never grow with this kind of ethno-religious bigotry and excessive jealousy!
So because of they get 13% derivative means that their ecosystem should be left polluted by oil spills.
Whose primary responsibility is to ensure that the oil producing areas be cleaned up?
I can see how shallow your reasoning is, You just rushed to comment without reading and assimilating.

Ijaw or Izon people don't know what they really want in Nigeria.
Once an Ijaw man wakes up in the morning, Serve him with Cocoyam and dried fish pepper soup with a bottle of Ogogoro mixed with schnapps and play him the music of B2s Tare oge master he will immediately forget about the struggle to liberate himself from Fulani backed govt oppression and injustice.

How can a people with crude oil in their backyard be given a paltry 3% as against 70% for northerners just for having pipeline pass through their region?
