Health / Re: My Doctor Says I'm HIV Positive by toluwalomo(m): 6:49pm On Sep 25, 2007
Seun what the guy need is some sympathy. The knife is sticking in his back, you need not ram it in!

In my opinion, what is integral is to empathize with him. And encourage him to seek counselling and refrain from doing nasty to his girlfriend. Your "you should have used a condom sermons" is not the best thing to be yapping about at this point.

TV/Movies / Your Ultimate James Bond Actor and Movie? by toluwalomo(m): 7:33pm On Sep 10, 2007
I watched over 12 Bond Movies, over the weekend. And it just struck me if I was to pick the ULTIMATE Bond actor: Connery, Moore, Dalton and Brosnan who would it be?

The guy who did "On her Majesty secret's service" does not count. After one Bond movie and the only Bond who wedded (SHEESH). He deserves no place in the Bond hall of fame.

Daniel Craig is good. He injected new life into a dying genre. But after just one movie, blah!!!! He can't compete with the bigger Bond boys.

Dalton was too emotional for me, carrying his Shakesperean days most likely posing wrong influence.

My top 3 would have to be Connery, Moore and Brosnan.

My top 2 Moore and Connery.

My ultimate Bond?

Roger Moore!!!! Even though he sucks the most when you juxtapose him with Ian Fleming's  novel Bond .

He jelled the time he came out. He brought a magical blend of wit, ruthlessness, sacarsm and ingenuity. He had too many sides to him, that no other Bond did.

Roger  Moore is my ultimate Bond!

My best Bond will have to be Live and Let Die. Brosnan's Tomorrow Never dies was tight too!

One woman, 24-year-old Gloria Shingange, had an embarrassing moment on Thursday when the boys drooled over her at the Tzaneen Mall because she was wearing a mini-skirt.

"They followed me around the mall with their hands inside their trousers. I walked out of the mall and when I stopped at the robot next to the Tzaneen police station they shouted saying I was attractive," Shingage said.

She said the boys took out their joysticks and started masturbating in full view of everyone while groaning in ecstasy.

According to the report, the cops do very little, because the boys aren’t raping anybody.

Sum sick shit right there!!!!
Sports / Re: Arsenal Turn To Newcastle For Henry Replacement by toluwalomo(m): 7:57pm On Jun 25, 2007
Last season when Chelsea brought in Ballack & Shevie, the general verdict was Chelsea would at least retain the title even if they did not win Europe's coveted crown.

Liverpool was tipped ahead of Man Utd to battle Chelsea every step of the way.

But we all know what happened. Man Utd spanked errrone!!!!!

It's a pity that Arsenal refused to match the ambitions of their greatest player ever, but anyone who starts to yap that Arsenal is finished cuz Henry is gone, has just shown his wholesale ignorance of the round leathered game.

When Ruud left Man Utd what did the pundits predict?

Didn't Beckham come back from the dead to hand Real Madrid the title?

Football is a soap opera we are all watching, Henry leaving Arsenal on paper is not pretty but anything can happen people!

I for one prefer anyone who gives us the underdog status, we are not under pressure I guess like the big-spenders like Man Utd, Liverpool & Chelsea to perform.
Sports / Re: Super Eagles Coach, Berti Vogts, Has Terminated His Contract With Nigeria by toluwalomo(m): 7:19pm On Jun 06, 2007
For the time being, he's still Nigeria's soccer coach.

Heard on Brila Fm Lagos, via a phone call put by Larry Izamoje to his PA that things are being sorted out even though they are not happy with the contractual state of things.

Gist is that he is flying on Sunday, to prepare our ego-bloated boys for their match against Niger.

Berti is still around people, at least for the time being.

I wonder why  maintain a relationship with someone you distrust in that you hire an investigator.

Is he making up with expensive gifts?

Music/Radio / Re: 'bragging Rights', Blaise Or Free? by toluwalomo(m): 1:47pm On May 18, 2007
Blaise is good. But when you don't write your own lyrics, men datz kinda killz d propz you should get.

Blaise is better than Bouqui lyrically. But she does not write her stuff.

So itz a tie!

And please let no one start a thread about it not being a big deal about writing your stuff.

I don't need any reminders about the sorry state of Hip Hop.
Culture / Nigerians & Foreign Accents by toluwalomo(m): 1:27pm On May 18, 2007
Nigerians are something else when it comes to adopting accents. I have no problems, if you naturally pick up a UK or US accent via schooling or upbringing in these areas.

But when an adult whose speech patterns are well formed goes to the US/UK for 3 months to a year and comes back with an accent, haba na wah o!

People who have not even gone anywhere, end up having these exasperating accents. Since they are fake, geographically you cannot even pinpoint who they are mimicking.

I have heard half American half British accents as if that is possible!

All these phoney fanatics include some so -called broadcasters who are supposed to set the pace and diffrenciate between fluent english and phoney english.

African China born and bred in Ajegunle went to the UK and came back not only with a rape charge but funny accent.

Eedris the rapper may not be able to string a grammatical sentence together but what really makes it hard is the accent he picked up.

There is this woman on STV with a CNN accent and Barong Eta at Channels Television who switches on accents like a bulb.

British, Canadian, American whatever side of the bed I get up from,

I think it is a sorry state of our English. We don't need to talk through our noses or drawl before we make sense.

Other parts of African take pride in their accents.

And even though accents in Nigeria are often subjects of mediocrity and "rasness" We can still afford to tow that fluent english line.

Like Olu Jacobs, Joke Silva and Wole Soyinka.

Why are Nigerians obssessed with foreign accents?

Music/Radio / Re: Who's The Best Music Producer? by toluwalomo(m): 5:40pm On Apr 11, 2007
Dre, Pharell and Timbo are good but JD aces 'em all out!

One year all of them are making noise, the next they are as quiet as a graveyard.

JD gets the nod here, in terms of consistency and diversity!

He doesn't exactly produce what I usually listen to ( Dre and Pharell do) but no sentiments here, Jermaine is king!

I hope the South will lose steam and the Hip Hop crown returns to the East. Datz where it started that is where it belongs.

Enuff of dat laffy taffy crap!
Music/Radio / With The South In Charge Is Hip Hop Really Dead In The U.s.? by toluwalomo(m): 4:57pm On Apr 02, 2007
When Hip Hop broke out it it was the East, then it went to the West. That was when the NWA's, Spice 1, Mc Eiht, Warren G and the Deathrow people were in charge.

The South were hardly getting a look-in. Only peeps like Geto Boys were getting reviews.

Now, shesss itz the south all d way.

Just look at the music charts,  itz Young Jezzy,TI, Luda, Lil Wayne, Mike Jones, Yung Joc, Rich Boi and so many others filling our ear drums

Personally, I credit the South for taking Hip Hop to the mainstream, with the bubble-gum rhymes and funny dance routines (of course there are exceptions). Removing the sour taste all the east/west beef left.

Is the South preserving the Hip Hop essence people?

Like Esco said "Hip Hop is dead!

Well it is nice to see that we have arrived at a type of understanding here.

Yes! I must admit that I allow my figurative sense of words get the better of me sometimes

The words that supposedly caused this brouhaha, were not intended to be derogatory.

I guess i was runnning in e360 script mode.

I know some gaming scenes in Lagos.

Are you saying the ones in LUTH AND UNILAG are hot?

Gimme some pointers for the underground g-scene if you can.

I would welcome it.

When I'm thu with the story.

I will leave a post here telling yall when the story will run.

Career / Re: Female Boss or Male Boss? by toluwalomo(m): 10:59pm On Mar 16, 2007
Female bosses for me are a nono. I already go thru stress with female colleagues at work. Just imagine if they were ahead of me up the corporate ladder!

Female bosses tend to be hyperactive around the job, like they need to ram it down our throats that they are on top this time. And by that they bring a lot grouse that has nothing to do with the job or workplace.

For the homeboy, who prefers a female boss to work the charm, it could easily get you into a realationship you could not get out of.

Remember hell hath no fury than a woman scorned.

Go watch that ol' movie DISCLOSURE wit Demi Moore and Micheal Douglas You will get my drift.

Gaming / Re: Wanted: Video Gamers by toluwalomo(m): 9:13am On Mar 16, 2007
Mr pete, you need to take out time to read and not fly into conclusions. Where did i mention that my story was to push the stereotype that gamers were puerile?

I am a video gamer myself and pretty much older than you. So that is an explanation in itself.

If other journalists have "yabbed" you in that regard, you need not crucify me for the sins of another.

Because I am seeking video gamers you assume you know my story slant.

I cannot remember showing you my journalistic templates.

If you are sore about the state of gaming in 9ja. You have the chance to change it.

If you not game for my feature. Well then don't send wrong misconceptions to people who are interested.

Button the lip!
Music/Radio / Re: Top Ten Rappers Of All Time by toluwalomo(m): 7:40pm On Mar 15, 2007
When people like Filthy Cent make an ALL-TIME LIST of hip hop rappers, that just goes to show the sordid state rap has descended into.

You might as well throw Zakki and Eedris Abbdul Kareem in there as well.

Celebrities / Re: Dare Vs 2face by toluwalomo(m): 9:17pm On Mar 12, 2007
Dare is in creative confusion. He dipped his hands in to many musical genres and lost it musically.

Some tracks stood out no doubt but when you judge an artiste in totality, you weigh the whole album and not some flash in the pan single. And DARE simply did not cut it.

Which is why despite all the hype over D'banj, he still needs to release a thorough album.

That is a another topic entirely.

Whilst Tuface makes music with an identity, Dare's album was lost in phonology.

Tuface scored with his debut album. And did even better with his second. (commercial sales don't alwayz tell the tale) So there is no comparison on ay musical front.

Tuface is eons ahead of Dare

For the person propping Dare for speaking better english, I guess Dare is in the wrong line of work then.

He should lose the music job and get a job as a PR person for a bloated politician quite cheaply too, since elections are snapping around the corner.
Gaming / Wanted: Video Gamers by toluwalomo(m): 8:28pm On Mar 12, 2007
Hi,

I wanna do a feature on video game players in Nigeria. I want to hook up with a real addict (25 upwards) that is the slant I wanna give the story, so it is important I stay in that range.

It will be nice if I can thro in a female who knows her way round a keypad too.

I am talking a game psycho here with a couple of consoles, a horde of games and a dusk to dawn addiction to match.

If there are any video game associations or video havens I can check in Lagos, i will like some contact points too.

The name of the programme this will feature is e360. We are on the AIT network on Saturdays 4:30 p.m and DSTV's Africa Magic Channel on Sundays 2 p.m
