Travel / Latest News From The Uk by travelcare: 4:17pm On Jul 02, 2008
Read below a cut from www.ukvisas.gov.uk and take note of the last paragraph.

The UK government today announced the introduction of a new system for assessing highly skilled migrants wanting to come to the UK to work. Tier 1 of the new Australian style points based system (PBS) will come into effect on 30 June.

The points system means only those migrants Britain needs can come to the UK. Tier 1 builds upon the success of the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme and is aimed at attracting applicants who have the very highest skills or who wish to establish themselves in business or to invest in the UK. Further tiers relating to students, workers with a job offer and temporary workers will be rolled out over the next 12 months.

The new system is far easier for applicants to use. They will earn points for their qualifications, previous earnings, competence in English language and ability to support themselves and their dependents. They can calculate, before they make their application, whether their points add up to entry as a highly skilled worker. The system is also more straightforward, what was a two-stage application process now has only one stage - and the initial visa will be granted for three years not two.

Border and Immigration Minister Liam Byrne said:
“The UK is a fantastic place to work and develop for those with the skills we need. A points system has worked well in Australia and I think it will work well for Britain. This is a key part of the huge shake-up to our border security this year.”

The introduction of PBS follows a tightening of British border security arrangements. All visa applicants now have to submit their fingerprints for checking against government databases before visas are approved, severe penalties have been introduced for employers of illegal workers in the UK and a new unified Border force has been established. In addition, since 1 April, applicants who use false documents or deception when making a visa application will face a ban from the UK of up to ten years.

Canadian visa lottery does not exist. If there is anyone who has told you this or you have recieved any package from anywhere, it could be a scam! However, you can go to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp for information on permanent immigration and other type of visas you can get from the Canadian embassy.

You can also visit Travelcare Consults for information on making your permanent immigration application to Canada, assessment is free. Call Olawale on 08023809767 or travelcare.consults@gmail.com or leofield@yahoo.com

@papiwonder

This is another disappointing post. We should now understand why most visa applications are rejected by most of the foreign consulates in Nigeria. They keep an eye on things like this. There are Nigerians working for this people and you wouldnt believe they know all about our intentions when we apply for visa. For instance, most visa applications made to the United States embassy, documents of most applicants were not even checked for uthenticity and genuity, decision is always PREDETERMINED and what you hear is "I dont think you'll come back to your country after your short stay, sorry, you are not qualified for the NIV visa"

Its high time we rose to our feet and redeem the image of Nigeria. Posts like this are a big barrier to potential visa applicants. How can somebody get a visa and would want to vanish in that country? Let us all be careful. You can only eat a fish with legs under your own roof and not in the public. Be warned!

Go to the embassy with your unconditional offer letter, Sponsor's bank statement, your international passport valid for at least the duration of your stay in UK. Be prepared for any question that may crop up.

Travel / Latest News For Uk Frequent Travelers by travelcare: 12:49pm On Jun 14, 2008
Do you travel to the UK frequently, either on business or for leisure or family purposes?

Like many other countries, the UK has introduced the collection of biometric data of all visa applicants. This is a quick and simple process involving a ten finger scan which enables us to keep you safe and identify you as someone that we know and trust. To demonstrate the value the UK places upon travellers who chose to visit the UK regularly, the UK Border Agency is providing the option of a long-term, multiple entry, premium visit visa.

The long-term premium visa includes the following benefits:

• allows unlimited entries to the UK, for up to six months at any one time, for the validity of the visa
• saves you time - you only need to provide your biometric data once during the whole validity of the visa
• identifies the holder as a person known and trusted by the UK government
• helps to protect customers from identity theft
• prevents mistaken identity (i.e. preventing confusing an individual with another person bearing the same or similar name)
• protects the holder against any future visa fee increases for the validity of the long-term visa.

A long-term premium visa demonstrates our long-term commitment to our valued and trusted customers. In addition, our trusted customers can apply to enrol in the automatic iris recognition system at UK ports, which facilitates 'fast track' admission by the use of automatic booths, avoiding queues. Information about automatic iris recognition system is available on the UK Border Agency website.

To apply for a long-term premium visa, please tick the appropriate box on the online visa application form or on the form you can download from this website http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/features/premiumvisa

Staff at our visa appplication centres can guide you through the application process available in your country.

Hmmm. This is the most interesting forum on the site. One small thing pulls a lot of crowd. There must be a lesson for everybody to learn form every post. Travelcare is not daft and knows what is going on. The aim here is not to decieve or mislead people. It is for us all to learn, gorw in mind and brain. Thanks to all contributors, those who know how to table their minds and those who know the use of adjectives.

On this post, it was the information we got from our partners in the UK. It was a general mail to all partners outside the UK and after reading replies to this post, I was like, oh, gunfires at me again, well, I like constructive criticism, it helps the mind to grow in the right direction. Being on Nairaland is not just to post meaningless or meaningful posts but to reach out for lates of the latest information. I got an apology call from the UK this morning and what could I do? I went straight to the BIA website for the information and it was real. I tender my apology as well to those affected by this post.

Thank you all.

Kindly answer these questions?

* do you have social and economy ties to Nigeria?

* Can you prove that you will follow your course of study when you get to the UK?

* Do you or your sponsor have enough funds to pay your tuition and living expenses in the UK without recourse to public funds?

* Will you come back to Nigeria at the end of your proposed course of study?

* Will you take up employment when you get to UK?

These are and more are the likely questions that lead to success in visa apllications and some answers are to be backed up by the right documents.

Well, I must commend your efforts for taking steps to make your applications. Your case of forgery allegations is not the first and it wont be the last. We had a client last year who was alleged of bank statement forgery. His Aunt in the UK works with Mark & Spencer and she holds an account with Barclay's Bank, UK. This bank statement was alleged to be forged and he was giving a right of appeal. We treated the appeal with utmost care and eventually the appleal was allowed and was given the visa.

One should always wonder, as I have written in one of my posts, that if truly an applicant is found wanting especially in the area of forged documents, there shouldnt be a second chance that is, a the right of appeal. Therefore, I suggest you appeal against the ECo's decision and prove all allegations levelled against you otherwise. You do not need to re-apply. Sometimes these ECO's are turned off due to numerous applications before them, their mood often times determine their decisions on applications. Sometimes, they may not like the face of an applicant, these are things that happen in reality especially in interviews. I have had the opportunity to be in a panel of interviewers and I learnt that various factors are measured and scores depends on the individual interviewers. You wouldnt believe a case of an applicant having the same birthday as that of the ECO's, (a coincidence!) that can earn such a person a visa, though that case is like a one in a million applications. That is why you need prayer support when you make your applications even when your documents are genuine and okay.

You can prepare your appeal by yourself or you can seek the assistance of lawyers who are conversant with appeals or better still contact Travelcare, you're 99% assured that this time you're going to win. Make sure you get the best of advice from people who have first hand experience or directly from the any accredited US visa advisory agents or better still use Travelcare Consults for best results. Vicjustice has said it all. But in my own experience, juvenile mistake is not something to write about. The fact remains that there had been false claims by the applicant, you now have cummulative record of false intention of going to the united states. Now that some are even speculating that the Al Qaeda network has been extended to Nigeria, it could be presumed you are a terrorist which the US dont like in her records. My brother, the best bet is try your luck elsewhere, your previous applications have jeopardised your future chances on getting the US visa. The only hope is the visa lottery, and you can only get it if you declare true, accurate and verifiable information. What you want to achieve in the US can also be better achieved elsewhere around the globe. Best of luck elswhere. The lesson here for you is, try to the indepth of your application whether you do it yourself or done by an agent, always keep records!

Travel / The Problem Of Nigeria And The Zeal Of Nigerians To Go Abroad by travelcare: 12:44pm On May 19, 2008
The rate at which Nigerian youths are leaving the country for overseas is tremendously on the high side. A close look at the cause of this mass exodus, which we all see as a national problem, could be traced to lack of employment and employment programmes for the able and disable, lack of security of life and property, lack good social amenities and so on.

The Nigerian universities purge out approximately 50,000 graduates annually which increases the cumulative number of unemployed youths. The spate of armed robbery is increasing, many scam methodologies and strategies are formed everyday by unscrupulous elements among the youths simply because an idle hand and mind are the devil’s workshop. All these social vices gain ways from the Nigerian political problems. We always wonder if Nigeria would ever change for the better or do we need God to descend from His throne to Nigeria for political and economic restructure?

Bad electricity supply has left many Nigerians starving because so many hands and mouths depend on electricity. The case of electricity problem in Nigeria has become like that of HIV which has no permanent cure but can only be managed…no matter how much is invested in the power sector it worsens each time we change government. This electricity problem has turned Nigeria to a dumping ground for generator manufacturers, importers get all these products into the countries unchecked in order to make more money. It has been our culture to see every problem as an opportunity to make money without considering the adverse effect of our act. No wonder people are now living a short life. We all know how bad it is for our body system to be filled with carbon monoxide from these bad generators imported especially from Asia, China to be specific.

Good employment is now meant for a particular class of people in this country…its now like a family’s cake. If you are not a member of the family, there wont be any cake for you. Godfatherism has characterized the Nigerian labour market. Why then do we have to blame those who are very desperate to leave this country for greener pastures when they know that the falling naira rate and exchange will better their chances of becoming more comfortable after series of odd jobs and hard labour abroad and eventually bringing in their hard earned hard currencies back to the country? The problems which arose out of the Nigerian political system or bad governance is a domino effect. One problem leading to another. Fuel price hike to increase in transport fares, food stuffs and other basic needs, where is Nigeria heading to?

Foreign embassies in Nigeria have all taken the advantage of the desperate nature of many Nigerians as an avenue to generate large income for their countries. Even when you have good intentions of going abroad and your documents are genuine and according to their requirements, the only thing you can get is “sorry, you are not qualified for the visa” after paying a non-refundable visa fee. Like a British  consular once stated, they receive about 20,000 visa applications weeklyand we know a how much this would fetch them weekly. United kingdom or other countries having embassies in Nigeria need not look for oil-wells as we have in Nigeria to make their economy boom. The most annoying thing about these embassies, especially UK embassy is that, they will tell you that your bank statement or other documents are forged yet they ask you to appeal against such decision which ought to have been an absolute refusal, eventually, your appeal may be allowed and they call you to come for your visa. Why the initial allegation of forgery? Nigerian problems have become opportunities for other countries to make their economy better which invariably means that these countries too do not want Nigeria to be better.

I have read many posts here on Nairaland where some people will say if anyone can afford to buy an air ticket and pay an agent a huge amount of money to get visa to go abroad, then such person is already a millionaire here in Nigeria if he can invest well. How many Nigerians have the knowledge of investing funds? Are the public well informed of the opportunities waiting to be tapped around them? The orientation people get from different situations determine their future. If there are Nigerians who are willing and are able to travel abroad, then it is good to support them…afterall, when they go out, irrespective of every legal job they engage themselves with, they will still bring the income back to invest in their father's land. We know there are bad sides of traveling abroad but the situation will always get better on returning to naija. Our destiny is in our hands, lets do Nigeria proud… there are great talents in Nigeria and Nigeria is richly blessed with human, material and natural resources which can make us the best in the world where America and Europe will be at our tail. Don't say no when you have the opportunity to go abroad.

Travel / Is This Forum For Jokes, Mockery, Entertainment Or For Travel Purpose? by travelcare: 2:04pm On May 15, 2008
Is this forum for Jokes, Mockery, Entertainment or for Travel purpose?

It is quite unfortunate that some people here on Nairaland have taken this forum for another thing. There is a forum for entertainments and jokes. Some would prefer to waste their precious time looking at spelling errors, typing errors or other errors made by others and turn it to a joke, perhaps trying to make others laugh when right thinking people are legally making money on the internet, this is absurd. The essence of any spoken or written language is for the recepient or audience to get the information passed accross. Nairaland is not meant for only Nigerians, there are people all over the world gaining access to this informative website, we should learn to cultivate good character and paint Nigeria in good colours to the world. If anyone makes an error, spelling, grammar of whatever, there are better ways you can help the person correct the errors made and not turn the issue to a laughing stock because you are not even sure if it such was intentional or unintentional.

Someone wondered how Travelcare intends to finance visa lottery winners without making profit or that it could be a merger thing or a scam, I will like to state that every profit-making business has its strategies for making its profits. Like the cases of banks making advert to the public offering them loan or financing certain projects and stating that you dont need to have an account with them and you dont need to have a collateral, would one jump into a conclusion such bank is into a scam or fooling the public when they have their undisclosed strategy on how to make their profits and without jeopardising their public trust? Lets think twice before reacting to peoples' posts on Nairaland, use your time on the internet wisely and lets make Nigeria greater.

The result of the US DV-lottery 2009 is out and winners are already getting their package directly from the United States of America. If you don't win, you wont get any mail (either email or postal mail) from the US. Scammers would want to find means of getting on their preys by sending emails, phone calls requesting you to pay. You should beware of scammers.

However, if you a winner of the visa lottery as a single applicant and you don't have money to finance it, contact us at Travelcare Consults for appropriate financing. Note that winning the visa lottery is NOT an authomatic US citizenship. It takes processes before you earn the green card and you 'll spend a lot of money. Mr. Abiodun,

Money order is not a commonly used method of payment in Nigeria anymore. The easiest you get is International Bank Draft or Bank Transfer. You cannot send Western Union Money transfer from Nigeria. Like sending it through Union bank, you must have a current account or better send it through someone else's current account, you'll only pay a certain charge which will be about #2500 and in 5 working days, they get your payment out there.
