the most important thing in affiliate marketing is your traffic. if you have a very good traffic then affiliate sites are less important but still their are some things you should put into consideration before dealing with any site.

some of the things you should consider include: quality of the products showcased on the site, this you can learn about it through forums.

their payment method and how. i mean who will pay you? the merchants or the websites? generally it is better to work with sites were the website pays affiliates and not the vendors and also through which means will you be paid? payoneer, paypal or direct bank deposit or check?

another thing to consider especially when dealing with eCommerce sites is "deep linking". i mean if a visitor visited their website through your link and ended up buying something different from what you are promoting, will you be paid? this is deep linking and it is very important that all eCommerce sites supports deep linking for their affiliate programs because they suggest different products a lot and a customer often settle for something different. these are just a few.
