Same question I wanted to ask o... Does it mean they can transfer to another account but can't withdraw cash from their account?

If they can transfer to another account, then how does it stop money laundering?

I wish someone can explain that part well

Hmmm interesting take.

How can one use 2k to go to Benin Republic in Lagos please?

From Iyana-oba (first gate) to Badagry is 1k... From Badagry to Seme is #300, then you trek... No enter bike o, just walk across the border compound (Any extra amount comes from you getting to Iyana-oba)

If the immigration ask for passport, tell them you don't have... You can drop #200 for them in the Nigerian side and #500 at the Beninoise side... Although you'll see people crossing also without paying more than #100 at each point... Shikena

nairalanda1:
On the topic.

Basically, fuel should be above N1000 for the market to recover costs, and for the refineries to work well. It is insanity to keep it at N700 and below.

The problem is, most PDP, APC, LP and others support fuel subsides. Some even think the thing must be removed 'gradually'...which is kind of what Tinubu is doing,(and which everyone before has done, because, they want to stay in power) at the cost of a possible deficit in our budget.

We have kept subsides, because the lie of cheap fuel is seductive. So seductive, that the government won't face reality and remove subsides...because it would lose in 2027.

Sometimes I wish we had courageous government in Nigeria, but we don't. Meanwhile, we continue to lie to ourselves. The truth is , subsidy must go, and it must go totally. No ifs, no buts, no pretending it has been removed. Even if it means N2000 per liter, and it means I have to walk to work.

I wish GEJ had the balls to do this in 2012. But he was a listening leader, and he listened to Nigerians. Here we are. Hell, I wish Abacha or even IBB did this back then, but they got scared...

I agree with complete removal of subsidy, but looking at the cost implication on goods and services, I think some things need to be put in place before this removal is done

That was the major grouse with Tinubu's inauguration speech... It's not after removing, you start putting measures in place

Nothing stopped him from announcing that, in 1 1/2 years time, subsidy will be completely removed. Before that time, electricity supply should have improved considerably, and CNG filling stations would have been set up in many areas, also CNG buses would have been brought in... It's wrong to put the cart before the horse

Chevrolet076:
After more than 15 years since I visited a beach (Eleko beach), I anticipated seeing and having the usual beach feel of
strong roaring foamy waves,
very cold winds that can sweep you off your feet,
the wide expanse of water so wide and so blue that connects to the sky as far back as your eyes can see,
hundreds of sea creatures especially crabs running back into the sea as it recedes,
the freedom of trekking kilometers down both sides of the sea,
the non-existence of any foreign thing like tractors, restaurant etc close to the sea... Just the traditional dishes and feel.

Everything is so bad that I just felt I wasted money on overrated stuffs.

No roaring waves,
no cold winds,
swimming pool-like water waves and forced waves from the jet skis and boat l cruise.
Green colored sea filled with sea weed
Cans, bottle, food pack littering everywhere
Guys with intimidating looks smoking up and down
Loudspeakers playing useless music and disturbing the peace of the sea,
Almost non-existent sea shells. Except for few tiny ones
Tractors everywhere with security guard threatening you if you dare to cross over to landmark side
Sand heaped on all four sides of the sea making it look like a swimming pool. Imagine a whole beach o

Everything has been monitized and the beach is so small that it's choking.

You can only have fun by buying overpriced things. Boat cruise at 3k, horse riding for just a short distance at 2k per person, one tiny suya at 2k, entry fẹẹ increased to 2k as well.

If not for the other families that came with football which we started playing, what would my holiday look like?

It is well. I just think not everything should be monitized and milked so it loses its natural feel.

Felt so bad for nature. The beach's sadness penetrated through my bones cry cry cry cry cry cry

Has anyone experienced this? Any idea of a good beach that is still an actual beach?

Just spend 2k to cross to Benin Republic, the beach there is free, quiet, with all the nice things you desire... No one will tell you to come back again and again

But if you don't want to cross, just visit any of the beaches in Badagry, as in, any one... Although it's not free, but you'll enjoy the natural aura... Very neat also and friendly individuals... What even makes it better is that they separated the part the white garment folks use, so they don't disturb your flexing... Funny enough, some of them cross over to come and flex after praying for a while

I don't even fancy going to beaches during festive periods sef... I prefer going on normal days, not when all sort of human beings are there

One would have thought that by now...Nigerians would have developed some sort of healthy skepticism towards their government and what it says. Apparently not.

The deal was that before the end of this month, that refinery complex would do what refineries are supposed to do...you know...refine stuff. There is no real indication that this will actually happen before the self imposed deadline. undecided

Eight days to the final deadline. The refinery has not rolled out one drop of AGO, PMS, DPK or whatever. It is not likely to do so before the deadline. And...the propagandists have rolled out the drums to celebrate...with the dancing girls gyrating and doing their thing...because one phase of what should be routine maintenance has been completed. undecided

The federal government is in the business of selling pipe dreams and clearly, there are many, many buyers. Godammit, I wish my customers had one hundredth of the loyalty gullibility of the people of this land.

I was reading through the comments, it then seemed as if I read previous news wrongly, as no one could remember this same thing you pointed out

The information before today was that it'll "START PRODUCTION" in December, but nothing in Kyari said indicated such... Is it that people have short term memories or what?

I urge you to consider selling Nairaland to an active person or a young individual who can become a shareholder. If you don't take this step, Nairaland, which is a source of pride for Africa, might face failure.

You are too slow.

You are too dull.

You are too stagnant.

The world has moved forward, and now there are millions of people like you.

Meanwhile, nobody knows what you look like in person, and you don't grant any interviews or interact with your peers. Are you even real?

What exactly do you intend to achieve with this post? I was born in that organization, but for some reasons I left. But truth is,they practice the best form of Christianity. Jehovah witness is the only organization/church I've seen that preaches from the Bible. They don't take offering like other churches. Their teachers are centered on how to worship God. No prosperity preaching. As much as I would like to admit that they are not perfect, but they are far ahead of others. Take it on leave it

If they practice the best form of Christianity, does that mean you left the best for something not good enough? As in, you left something that is original for something that is fake?...

Except you left JW and stopped being a Christian altogether, if not, I wonder the kind of mentality you have to have left THE BEST
