Amakaoyekachi1: I’m so sorry you have to go through this. Even though some here weren’t so receptive of your story, I believe you did get some solid advice from those who empathised with you. Sorry you have complicit in-laws. If you accept to move in with them, you’d accept so much more that you wouldn’t like. I hope your family can stand firm to protect you. Like someone here said, it’s not in your power alone to make your marriage work. Don’t let anyone bully you into accepting what you won’t stand for. Hopefully when your husband sees this thread, he can come here to justify how he couldn’t communicate with you - because he’s being held in captivity in Canada, abi?! But until then, your side of the story is what counts. Keep us posted. Peace. 2 Likes |

YesLadyN: Update! Accra returned my passport on Friday without the stamp Now, Ircc has given me instructions to send my passport again. Question is, can I send it to Abuja VAC instead? I learnt the passport will go to Nairobi VO. Reason why I’m considering Abuja is that I have not been able to get hold of who’d help me pay in Ghana cedis to Accra VAC. Pls I’d like to know if the VO I send my passport to matters since I’ve already used Accra before |

Amakaoyekachi1: Sis, you deserve better; the least you deserve is a husband who can be upfront & forthright with you regarding his situation over there. You shouldn’t be married to yourself. Yes you can exercise a little bit more patience to see how things play out and gather more evidence, but let no one here advocate in your husband’s behalf. Let him defend himself by reaching out to you. He owes you that as his wife. It’s common knowledge that our men at times do secret things to secure their stay over there, yet you need time to be sure if this is your husband’s situation, and if both of you still want to remain married. Whatever the case, let no one here make you feel guilty for feeling hurt, for wanting to get answers, or pressurize you to accept actions and attitudes that doesn’t uphold your marital vows. Also, pray. Pray for calmness, clarity, and direction of your steps. God has standards and he expects married couples to treat each other fairly. So trust him to resolve any unfairness and hurt between you and your husband, and to give you the best outcome. I wish you peace hon. 12 Likes |

phabulous88: I was reading through your reply until I got to the last paragraph. Please don’t say just 4 months of no communication is a trivial matter, more so people are different emotionally. To a small extent I understand her inner turmoil. I’ve been married since 2019 and I’ve only seen my husband just once after the wedding; we also talk every damn day, yet I know how much our marital situation has affected me deep within and outwardly. How much more so someone who’s husband has essentially ghosted her. Although I understand you are trying to make her reason calmly through her situation - of course she needs to be calm and calculating - but terming 4 months of her husband being incommunicado “just” is quite dismissive of the effect of her predicament on her. She needs closure. If her husband did value the marriage he’d have fought tooth and nail to constantly contact her. So if contacting agencies will give her closure and psychological balance, then let her do it. It’s her prerogative. 6 Likes |

Amakaoyekachi1: Red flags everywhere in his actions. The threatening emails are enough evidence to start an investigation with. He could even be the one sending the emails so you can back off from the marriage and move on. Who knows. Whatever his reasons for going blank on you, he’s being very half-wise and he’s equally jeopardizing his stay in Canada. If all efforts to reach him have proven abortive, then you can move to plan B in my earlier response to you. So sorry. 6 Likes |

Amakaoyekachi1: Sorry about your distressing situation. In all of these, try to keep your head above water. First, gather the evidences that you have that prove the following: 1. The legality of your marriage 2. Your efforts to establish contact with your husband 3. Lack of communication from your husband 4. The presence of another woman Then you may do the following: 1. Tell him you want to get a lawyer who would write IRCC about the evidence you’ve gathered. He may call your bluff or he may be forced to reach out to you with explanations. Either ways, this likely won’t address the core of the issue. 2. Consult with your parents to review steps 1-4 above. They may call a family meeting with your in-laws, and depending on how firm/soft your family is, they may find excuses for your husband’s actions, and you may be urged to exercise more patience till he’s done with school (you know how our culture tends to heap the success of a marriage more on the woman). On the other hand, your in-laws may be served an ultimatum. 2. Lawyer up. The evidences will be reviewed and he/she will advise you on further steps to take especially if it’s proven that he is another union. Your lawyer may write to IRCC if marital fraud has occurred, that’s if you wouldn’t mind your husband being deported. Indeed, hell hath no furry like a woman scorned. 3. I hope you still have a marriage. I wish you peace sis. 7 Likes |

Hello House, I’m glad I searched this thread out from google. It seems the majority here have passed through copr stage at least, and perhaps can offer some advice & encouragement because my tired is getting tired Tomorrow will make it four weeks my passport got to ircc through Accra VAC & up till now no word or update on our express entry profile beyond PPR letter. I’ve sent Accra HC a mail but no response. My spouse who’s inland has called but the agent didn’t have much info. We are CEC and our CPC is Edmonton. I thought passport stamping doesn’t take this long. Or could something be wrong somewhere? We followed all due processes after PPR. |

Hi @Frankrobbn1 Quoting you from 2020: Accra Visa Application Centre official email address : Info.canghaiom@vfshelpline.com The first thing is to send an email to the email address above. Tell them you are Nigerian Citizen residing in Nigeria and have applied for Canadian Study visa and have received Passport request letter Tell them you would like to find out if you can submit your Passport via courier (DHL) to Ghana and would like to request the supporting documents required to send the passport to Ghana. They would response with the documents to send. Normally, you pay for everything (both the to and fro fee) at once. DHL has a return envelope package in which the Accra VAC will use it to send the stamped visa passport back to your mailing address. >>>>>I followed this step above and got feedback from Accra VAC. However, they included a fee of 378 cedis to be paid into a Ghanaian bank account with Ecobank Ghana. Question is: can I pay at our local Ecobank? Anyone here who has done this can please advice me. ednut1: While some applications get rejected, I have seen instances of people who got PR without uploading any of these documents, as well as those who got an ADR to submit their ECA only. So it may just depend on the VO or other factors....still I’d say it’s best to err on the side of caution since it wouldn’t cost one anything to upload these documents even if it’s not explicitly requested for. 4 Likes |

Eraychel: Hello, so sorry to read about your situation. You could send a web form explaining the new development but to ease your apprehension I read that being Hepatitis B+ is not an automatic rejection based on medical inadmissibility and that a decision is made case by case and you may have to do further tests to determine the extent of the infection. All the best xxxx |

Hi guys, Just to be sure, I’m to submit an affidavit because the name on my birth certificate is different from that all other subsequent docs. Question is, do I need to notarize the affidavit for the affirmation of my names which already has a commissioner of oaths stamp for the high court? Thank you |
