I mean it has one year difference. My intl passport has 29 Sep 1988 as date of birth which is the actual while the WAEC has 25 Sep 1987. Pls kindly advice me how to go about it so that it won't affect my admission and visa application. Thank you.
Serious matter...It might be red flag...if it's a slight error, U could've gone to the high court to do an affidavit but different date entirely... Not just the year but day as well. It looks suspicious like a different person entirely...You've plenty of time maybe U need to go Abuja to process a new passport...depending on the correct date of birth... Just a suggestion

Hello House. I have been an ardent follower of this thread for the past few days and I am highly impressed at the way people offer to help others here.
Please I need serious help! I did my interview at the German Embassy on 1st of September, but up till now, I have not received the am mail from the embassy. i sent a mail to the embassy three weeks ago to request for an update on my application. I was told they were already talking to the Aliens' office in Gottingen. I also contacted the office at Gottingen about two week, I was told they have not received any document regarding my application from the Nigeria consulate. Now, the major issue is the my enrollment deadline already expired Friday 23rd October and the school is not accepting any option of further extension as I had already seek for extension from September 30th to October 23rd. The only option my course coordinator offered me is for him to send me another admission letter for next summer semester.
Please what can I do in this situation?
In case I need to defer my admission till next semester, do I need to do another visa application at the embassy since I am yet to get their decision on my first application.
Someone should please help me on the steps to take in approaching the embassy in case I need to go for the deferment.

Thank you all for your time and anticipated help!
Hello, since ur enrolment deadline is already passed and ur coordinator didn't agree to extend it, it's better U just accept the deferment and mail the embassy attaching the new admission letter, to let them know dat ur enrollment is passed and Uve agreed with ur coordinator to extend it till the summer. Becos even if the alien office approved ur visa, the embassy will not stamp it based on the fact that it's passed. Uve a clear path and U can start preparing for the summer semester now...wish U the best.

I got to germany on Tuesday morning and It has been an awesome experience in this small, quiet and beautiful city of koblenz.
Got to the airport like 4hrs before my flight departure and our Nigeria immigration ppl went thru my baggages and stylishly ask for something as always but I stood my ground dat I have no Kolanut to give dem, in fact I politely told him I'm a student and he should even be the one giving me something... Well, they didn't ask for any unusual documents eventhough I've everything packaged in an envelope and I was very confident. I went thru Lufthansa nd for those still scared of flying Lufthansa, mehn Ure missing big.First, I got a return ticket on Lufthansa for less dan 180k which is a nice bargain. I got an info from my indian buddy yesterday dat lufthansa even have special prices for students, I'll brief the house as soon as I get more info. I had my laptop bag ,a carry-on bag, and two boxes... So aside ur laptop bag, u can still carry 23*2 nd 8kg carry-on all equals 54kg excluding ur laptop bag. Ur laptop bag is seen as personal item but not weighed. Lufthansa are very strict with their rules so don't exceed the specified weights.
It was a very smooth ride with Lufthansa nd dey're always ahead of time, we arrived at frankfurt almost an hour b4 schedule, interesting... I was able to call my ppl @home immediately I disembark from d plane, dis is made possible by the wakanow travel SIM preloaded with $20 all @ just 4500 from d wakanow website... Not an advert o but I've been calling non stop since I arrive with d UK/US line while I awaits my lyca SIM delivery.
My Indian study buddy was waiting at the train station to pick me up and immediately took me to McDonald for a hot lunch and I can tell u It's very nice nd interesting wen Uve someone taking u around here,my advice, always contact ur international office ahead of ur trip, mine was arranged more dan a month b4 my trip, it was even more consoling dat she's more dan a year ahead of me in my masters program and already putting me thru some of d courses even b4 lectures starts fully.
Thanks to obiwannn, I came to germany armed with my internet cable and have been blazing since den non-stop. For those coming soon, Pls get a small router for Wi-Fi connection for ur fones and other gadgets, I had to grin wen I was asked to pay 35 euros for a router dat I'm sure will go for less dan 3k in naija. And also don't forget Ur two-round mouth travel adapter and also an extension box.
And for all those still scared of coming to koblenz,I've good news for U, d semester ticket dat only covers koblenz before now has been reviewed and now covers not just koblenz but Cologne and mainz...
I'm looking forward to welcoming more nigerians here soon, in the meantime I seem to be the only african in dis Uni nd wish to change dat soon...
I'll always be here to give help to those dat need help... Hmmmm, what did I forget to add... I'll post more as I remember... Signs out for now... Tschuss

Nothing special about the journey. It was very stressful tho. Lagos-Frankfurt-Munich on Lufthansa.

One important point tho for prospective travelers: put your perfunes, lotions, etc in your main luggage. Do not put them in your hand luggage(i.e. the one you take with you into the plane). This is because immigration both in Naija and Germany will check your hand luggage and will definitely confiscate these items if they are more than 100ml. So just keep them in your main luggage. I lost all my lotions and sprays in this way.

Tip2: You don't even have to buy the lotions and all in Naija. They are extremely cheap here. I bought a nice shower gel, adidas body spray, hand lotion, nivea body lotion all for only 6€.

Yeah come with Garri surely.

That's all I remember now. I can answer specific inquiries as far as my knowledge goes
Thank God for journey mercies... Did u carry a laptop bag with ur carry on luggage...

Depends on the branch Ure going, ikeja branch is close to shop rite... Just take a bus going to ikeja bus stop, alight @ shoprite bus stop, cross over to shoprite side and trek for like a minute, ask for IGI ( no 174 obafemi awolowo road, ikeja )...It's 14,500...Ur traveling date can be the same with wen the insurance starts or after the insurance has started, ur choice... then lastly u should go with the payment confirmation just in case they requested for it....Congratulations once again, ur case will surely inspire ppl coming behind us....

Please how do i get deustchebank to send an updated account balance information to me. I initially funded with 8040eur but later got an email from the embassy that i am required to deposit at least 8400eur according to the alien authority. I thought this might be a mistake of writing 8400 instead of 8040 but i added 360eur to the account last week thursday anyways. Could it be a typo error from the embassy though?? Has anyone been told to pay more than 8400eur?

The main problem now is since paying the money into the account and obtaining a telex from the nigerian bank here, i am yet to recieve any confirmation from DB showing the updated balance. Do i need to send an email to them to get this information?
Yes... Uve to use the contact form on the website to request for another balance. There's an avenue for that on the FAQ session... U can as well send someone overthere to contact them to make it faster... Cheers
