You guys are right...

While the moon does exert a measure of gravitational pull of the earth it's not enough or too weak to hold the earth in place.

The sun's gravitational pull is much stronger and keeps the earth and other planets in orbit/place!

If the moon never existed, earth will exist very well and you won't even know anything.
But if the moon suddenly got destroyed or the particles of the mass can cause a lot of
havoc for us. Some say they can float towards earth and form a ring around the earth like saturn.

That's why I said "not as we know it".

It would be a "different" earth. For example tidal waves would be much different. The tilt and balance of earth would be much different. Earth would have extreme weather conditions. The moon also slows down earth's rotation etc.

So earth will be different than as we know it today.

That's what I meant!

No moon? Simply means global ecological disaster with flood, high incidence of a global extinction event with meteorites and boulder sized asteroids finding a more wholesome target as the earth than a non-existent moon.

The asteroids have always found earth even with a moon present.

My own is that the way China, Russia and The U.S is gearing up to partition the moon 🌙 amongst themselves, I hope they won't end up destroying the moon; Earth's only natural satellite.
