That's because Koontz always wanted more creative control than King over the adaptation of his books. Koontz said handing over total control to Hollywood writers was like handing over his baby to cannibals to devour. He just couldn't do it

Very few books can be replicated word for word on the screen

I only saw it happen in two books - the silence of the lambs and sleepers

Both movies are 95% true to the books

Stephen King who had his earlier books cut down by his editors for being too long - how would those books fare in a movie?

The original version of the stand was cut by over a 100 pages

The first it movie was a mini series

More importantly there is NO way that book would have made it to the screen without cutting

It had a erm er erm Bleep scene between the protagonists

King must have written it when he was in his coke phase. lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

The ending was CRAZY!! I still have this book somewhere in my house. I don't know where I dropped it.

Dean Koontz and Stephen King are my all time favorite American writers. I won't say Mr Koontz is the superior writer. I'd argue they both have their unique writing styles, with Mr King focusing on the character development of his subjects, while Koontz is sort of preachier than King.
The ending was totally crazy!. I read it a very long while back, on my old Nokia phone because I couldn't lay hold on a hard copy πŸ˜…. I remember, i took screenshots from my fave parts of the book, and i just found one of the SS on my drive. I read this and "Things fall apart" for the first time, back and back, it was literally one of the best moment of my literary journey!.

A family friend handed me, my first Dean Koontz book, i was so fascinated by it, that i slurped it up inside of 3 days, albiet in a time, when i didn't have to worry to fend for myself πŸ˜…. Ever since then, i have sought out his books with passion. i have seen him write about a pandemic way before the COVID pandemic broke out, i have seen him write about an Haitian voodoo priest terrorising New york city and A man whose doppelganger goes on a killing spree, the resemblance is too close, making him feel, that there might not be a doppelganger at all......

Dean Koontz has a very wide spread over the suspense, horror, physiological thriller genre and i think the only thing Stephen King has over him, is better PR. SK is good don't get me wrong, i read "Full Dark, No Stars", and it was so bone chilling that i couldn't even bring myself to see the Netflix adaptation cuz i can't bare to see such horror on live action, but i just prefer DK πŸ˜‰

My favorite is Strange Highways. I'll never forget that books with its characters.

I think before Hollywood started thinking about making movies about shape-shifters, Koontz was already writing about it. πŸ‘

There's one notable one about a town that everyone was dead no thanks to a flesh eating shape shifter. Scary as fvck

Hmm sounds similar to the one I love the most. About town where a shape shifter was killing its inhabitants left, right and centre, and the town's inhabitant can't do anything about it, because the shape shifter is bulletproof. Then came my guy, Frank Shaw, AKA Frank 'Hardshell' Shaw.

Men I tell you, the plot twist in that book ehn, gave me the creeps.

I'm telling you.

That last fight scenes with the prosthetic leg dude, I almost didn't go past there. I kept on watching that fight over and over.

There's a point where he uses the knife to drag the guy along the wall and the guy hops on one leg with him. Hilarious.

Again very entertaining movie.

Zack Snyder missed with this one
I understood the plot, but I wasn't invested in the story one bit.
He needs to go back to the drawing board, and work with good writers and also reduce the slo-mo (they can get annoying sometimes)

I think it's too expensive.. I'll cancel once I xfr my data to my pc. It doesn't back up on a regular basis. Often times I have to manually do a back up. Possible to lose pics if I don't check for backups on a regular basis. Like most Carriers tech support is hit or miss. I'm looking for a better app that is more reliable. All pics won't upload. I continue to have problems! Pics don't upload automatically.

Can only access saved music by artist alphabetical letter A and part of B. That's it. Total waste. The rest of my saved music is inaccessible. Plus if you read thru the reviews you will see that a Verizon robot replies with stock pre-written responses. It appears that no one at Verizon is actually reading these comments. Update: Now I can't access any of my stored music. Customer service sucks. Horrible app.

Work fairly seamless, but was a little clunky. Connecting both phones together. I primarily use this to transfer text messages from the old phone to the new phone.
