Why I Chose Village Chicken Over Broilers! by joyfulconnect(m): 11:13am On Apr 27 |
Are you pondering where to put your poultry investment? Let's delve into the dynamics of short-term versus long-term gains in the chicken game. 📈 🕒 Short Time Investment: Broilers 🕒 Looking to turn a quick profit? Broilers might be the way to go. These fast-growing birds reach market weight in a matter of weeks, making them a popular choice for short-term gains. 💰 Long Time Investment: Village Chicken 💰 But if you're in it for the long haul, consider the enduring benefits of raising Village Chicken. While it may take a bit longer for these birds to start laying eggs—typically around 5-6 months—the payoff can be substantial in the long run. 🥚 Egg-citing Returns 🥚 Picture this: in just six months, your Village Chicken flock could multiply exponentially. With each hen laying an average of 15-20 eggs, and a diligent farmer like yourself ensuring optimal conditions for hatching, the sky's the limit. My first batch alone yielded a whopping 16, 15, and 11 chicks! 🚫 Security Measures 🚫 Of course, guarding against pesky thieves, prowling cats, scheming rats, and curious canines is crucial to safeguarding your investment. But with proper precautions, you can maximize your hatching success rate and protect your burgeoning brood. 💪 Health and Resilience 💪 Unlike Broilers, Village Chicken are hardy creatures that don't easily succumb to sickness. Plus, once the chicks are weaned, mama hen is ready to get back to business, laying eggs like clockwork. 🌾 Feeding Efficiency 🌾 And let's not forget the cost factor. While feeding broilers can significantly impact your production expenses, Village Chicken are more self-sufficient when it comes to foraging, helping to keep costs down and profits up. In the eternal battle of broilers versus Village Chicken, my feathers are firmly on the side of the latter. For sustainable, long-term gains and a flock that keeps on giving, Village Chicken is the ultimate investment choice. I started with 3 hen and 1cock in Nov, as at today I have total of 26 chicken. It would have been more if not that I always eat their eggs. I discovered a way to increase production, one the hen hatch, after 2weeks I separate the chicks from their mom and in 2 weeks, she starts laying again. 3 Likes 1 Share |
